Very nice and funny clip! Did you come with the Beetle from Busan or did you fly in from somewhere else? The Beetle is a bit bumpy, but only takes 4 hours to Fukuoka, took it several times to visit Busan and other cities in Korea, we love the country in all ways. We lived many years in Nakasu, Fukuoka, also love that city and Japan in general, visited many places in Kyushu. My gf is Japanese, I am Swedish/Romanian. Yes, Kumamoto and the castle are great, Nagasaki is nice, but very hilly. The atomic bomb museum as well as the one in Hiroshima are gloomy. Kagoshima is also very pretty with great food and very good sake. Yanagawa also pretty and famous for their grilled eel, unagi and anago. Miayzaki have great meat, both chicken and beef. Saga beef is also just as good as Kobe beef. There is so much to see in Kyushu. A tip is to check online or ask a travel agency to find cheap stays at onsens and royokans, the date affect the prices a lot. You can find a fine ryokan at a reasonable price if you book outside major weekends etc. Beppu has become a bit too touristic at times, but is still ok. Many other places round Oita though which are amazing. Fish markets are amazing, but you have just as good ones in Korea. We love to go to small family run restos very close to the fish markets both in Japan and Korea, best quality and prices! Arigato and gamasahabnida!
Thank you so much for your thoughtful comment! 😊 I flew in for this trip from Seoul, but now I’m tempted to try the Beetle ferry!!! Thanks for all the great tips on ryokans, onsen stays, and those family-run spots by the fish markets. Arigato and gamsahabnida for sharing your tips! 🌸🍣
Yes!! Kumamoto Castle is definitely worth a visit, especially with the beautiful scenery and rich history. Plus, there are some great food places nearby where you can try their local specialties like Kumamoto ramen Kumamon-shaped desserts~ 😆
