I have recently realized that I have way too much food stashed in cupboards and the pantry and our 2 freezers. So me and our 2 girls have been sorting non perishable foods and have donated to the women and children’s shelter. We went through ALL their clothes (OMG how did they end up with so many clothes) and washed and folded and donated to a free women’s pantry we have in town that offers anything and everything a single mom could need for their home. How did I end up with so many appliances and pots and pans? They all went, hopefully to good homes that will use them. This effort is in preparation to simplify and pare down my daily pantry. I would definitely say you did good price wise, 100 % you did!! We have a local arbitrator where we get our beef, it’s definitely more expensive than what you found on sale, but I have to say the meat from the farm is so good, and that’s saying something because I don’t like beef. It definitely doesn’t have a smell so I know it’s fresh. Look forward to your upcoming videos!!

I got 2 family trays of chicken drumsticks (12/tray) yesterday. Last night, I baked 2 for supper and the remaining 12 from one tray in a pot with some celery, onion and carrot pieces, along with a little salt. I let it cook for a couple of hours, strained it and filled 4 pint jars and pressure canned them. This morning, I took the meat off the bones of those drumsticks and added the bones to the pot with the other tray without any veggies and they have been cooking for about 2 hours. Another hour and I should have at least another 4 pints and more meat, which will be added to White Chicken Chili, Chicken Spaghetti and Chicken Vegetable Soup. Each will be shared with my neighbors.
Dang you did awesome on your grocery haul. I wish we had a rural grocery store or a salvage store. Being that we are just outside of what they consider northern Virginia we don’t have anything like that around here. Too many rich people.
We love using avocado oil. It’s a staple at our house.

We buy local meat sources, but when I find a good deal on something at the store, I do grab it. I found a box of 12 rolls of brand name breakfast sausage, $10 per box. I couldn't pass that up. The rolls retail for us locally at $4.69 per roll(1lb). They were frozen and short dated, but they were FROZEN! I've worked thru those pretty well before using my locally butchered pork sausage. We love local meats and vegetables where we can find them. You are so inspiring to me, I would love to try more home baking. You make it seem so easy and less intimidating. Love your videos. Thank you for sharing your days with us. ❤

You got a lot of great deals at Ruler Foods. We did our large monthly grocery haul last week and I'm so pleased that we saved over $78.
Be careful not to use the higher "grade" oils when you're hosting someone for dinner that you don't know that well in terms of their food allergies. I am highly allergic to avocado oil AND coconut oil both so I have to be really careful what I eat where.
I saw you put all that hamburger down and I couldn't wait to hear what deal you got on them. That is great! Have you canned up some hamburger yet? I can't remember if you have. It works so good in casseroles and when I make chili. Last month I seasoned some as taco meat and canned it. You really got a lot of great deals! So happy you found them. Those onions were huge! I know one time when I found them on sale, I chopped them up and put them into the freezer. Once it gets warm around here so I can put them on the dehydrator and have turn them into minced onion since I use that a lot. I'd rather use my own. You should feel good about the accomplishment with the pizza and spaghetti sauce. I'm hoping to grow more this year also.
