UPSC Civil Services Exam is one of the most prestigious exams in the country. It has three parts, the Prelims exam, the Main exam and the Personality test, which you need to clear in order to become an IAS or IPS officer. All other Group A services of the Government of India recruit people through the UPSC Civil services exam itself and because of this, there is a lot of competition in this exam. Hence, your UPSC preparation should be strategic, informed and well planned.
Your UPSC preparation should not be based on blind adherence to any program. Rather you should give a thought about how your are preparing. The best way to go forward is to study the blogs and tips given by previous year toppers about how to go about UPSC CSE for all three stages of UPSC Prelims, UPSC Mains and the Personality test also known as the UPSC Interview, and then make your UPSC preparation strategy accordingly.
Doing static subjects like polity, economy, environment, geography and history for your UPSC preparation is a solid bet to increase your chances of clearing this exam. But this must all be supplemented by current affairs for best effect.

Biggest challenge of preparing from home is having no one to discuss about exam..... No one to talk about syllabus or pyqs.... Its just a lot of work to do alone. How do we tackle that?

Bro... Online koi bhi group ya choti test series join krlo... Gradually group banta chala jata hai...and one more thing.. jo serious banda hoga vo apne level ya usse plus bande k sath he diacuss or matchup krega... So qualitative company milna is bit difficult...

You pointed out so accurately, i observed that most of the aspirants in Delhi came to Delhi just because they wanted to escape from their homes, their relatives and they just wanted to live the college life one more time after the college. They want freedom and they come to ORN( i was one of them). I started my preparation the day i left Delhi.
I just vecated from Old Rajinder Nagar and came back to my home town last month. This is the best decision i made regarding UPSC preparation. Dont come to Delhi guys, its not worth it. It might ruin your entire preparation. Delhi is totally irrelevant for UPSC preparation today.

Padhne wale dikhenge nahi to na dosti karenge. Delhi jaake bhi room me lock hona padega pdhne k liye, ise achha ghar pr hi padh lo.

I think neither home is best nor delhi. . middle path can be used by going to other cities like prayagraj, bhopal, pune, patna as Most coaching centres branches are available in these cities

@@SaurabhMishra-xm6sh then there shouldn't be any problem because prayagraj provides competitive environment . Also you can join test series at vision ias in its prayagraj branch and if you you need coaching you can join drishti ias, vision ias, etc

Now every big and small coachings have their online classes which made a student from village, tier 3 city to prepare from where he's living
I shifted from Delhi to my home some time back. I get all the comforts at home. But somewhere I go into a comfort zone because here I don't have to worry about anything, Because of which you do not see the real struggle of UPSC aspirant and you go into your comfort zone. This affects studies a little bit. if you can study from home then it is a very good thing.
In home there are lot of distractions and a kind of comfort zone which becomes hurdle

I'm from Pakistan, and here Lahore is the hub for competitive exams prep, I haven't gone to Lahore, many of the aspirants here have succeeded without moving away from home and I totally agree with your point of "HONESTY"

Money cost of prep is min-
30k-40k per month these days (Room, library, food, Zomato, travel, monthly needs, lil wants, occasional parties, occasional tours). Add to that the fact that you could actually be earning say,1.5L PM instead from a job- real difference is 2L PM= 24L PA.
For people who think living at home while preparing is distracting, you could get a pg or rent near home which would be much more affordable or better still simply join a study hall or library in walking distance . I simply have my breakfast, go to a study room for 8-7 and then i go back and enjoy home cooked ghar ka saaf khana. Study halls cost me around 1k a month. This way you can get away from distractions and at the same time avoid unnecessary costs and living in wretched conditions.
Sir with online class there are also certain health issues that arise. Dark circles on eye ,pain in eyes, head ache etc

Mai apne ghar reh ke padhai krta hu aur es baar maine 2024 ka prelims ka exam bhi diya tha but could not qualify this year.

I'm not sure about your physical age but your mental age must be around of 16 year old teen . There isn't one reason to stay at home or to leave home there are multiple factors ofcourse you don't know those because you aren't preparing seriously 😂👍

I left ORN few months back.
My pg rent was 25K , Library 2K , Electricity 1K, Monthly study material 1K , Other Expenses 5K (food / fruits / medicine). I was working part time , still wasn't able to meet the ends and had to ask my father for financial help (mostly).
After Covid and book of online classes, there is no need to go to Delhi. Every town and cities have libraries today.
