Personally I like the fine edge better than the serrations any day. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and opinion on the Grylls pocket folder, I appreciate it sir.
Most Gerber knives are made in China and Chinese factories are notorious for pumping out "extras" to sell in the Chinese market. Under Chinese copyright law (or lack thereof), this probably isn't even illegal. Gerber's profits and Bear's royalties are cut out, as are all of Gerber's setup, R&D, advertising, etc; so the Chinese factory is only left with the actual manufacturing cost, which is cheap (in some cases, the American company is actually unknowingly footing the bill for after-hours production). So, they can sell them in China at a profit, leaving plenty of room for Chinese retailers to sell them from China, again at a profit, with shipping, and still be far under retail. Chinese factories don't "copy" Chinese knives; there's no point in it. Most companies who commission Chinese factories know this risk and consider it a cost of doing business with the Chinese.
I just got mine of eBay and it looks identical to the serated edged one it came very sharp.I am sure its a fake cause of the price but it's the perfect price and knife for everyday carry and save the expensive one in a pack for emergency.
The blade on the original is uniformly curved all the way to the tip of the blade . On the ( possible ) counterfeit curvature disappears shortly before the tip and that small part of the blade looks more straight. Check the curvature on both blades.
I bought two of these knives. When they came, they were not the same. I thought I found the real one, but noticed when I ran my fingers across the serrations, the serrations bent. On both of them. I am just never going to trust these knives again. The original one I had before I got these two was a very handy, nice little knife. These two went into my junk knife area.
It's been almost 7 months now. How is the fine edge version of this knife holding up? One thing I noticed is that neither one of your knives had the part number stamped on the right side of the blade by the thumb stud and mine does.
Could be a "original fake", means the chinese producer is doing his own business with those knives. They could be made in the same factory ... I saw a few fake products in asia that been actually in the same quality as the originals. What makes me belive that they come from the same factory!
If you guys are wondering how they are so on point with the fake, its because gerbers original knife is made in china and apparently blueprints and product production plans gets leaked. So thats how they are on point.
Hey brother I enjoy your channel and respect your opinion and reviews but one question,,, what's with all the grylls stuff? Just asking nit complaining or like dissing you just don't understand all the hype with this Bear Grylls crap. Thanks for sharing.
If it's a fake it might even be better than the Gerber. With their chea steel. Consider the $12 Ganzo Knives that are amazing quality with 440C steel. I wonder though what good a fake is if the difference is 5 bucks. How much do you really earn from a knife you sell for 11 bucks? Why not make a clone of a more expensive knife. Even a Kershaw or so, they'd sell for multiplmes what this cheap Gerber thing costs.
They are both made in China. They are just not made in the US. If they were they would probably cost much more. Just means they are not tested for use. Doesn't mean you can't use the hell out of them. It is what it is.
Clearly the "fake" is made with lesser grade machining tools as you can see the hollow grind is uneven at best. Would not buy any one of them anyway :p
The fake looks beter lol.... But you have to see if the two blades are made of the same material. Another thing that you dosent talked about, the original blade of the knife blade has teeth compared with the fake bottom where there are no teeth.
Are the Gerber grylls knives any good I not really sold I real have a hard time spending money on things and the turn out to be shit, I have noticed you have alot of Gerber stuff
The Ultimate Pro knife seems to be a really good one. I personally have one but I haven't used it much yet, got it halfway into the summer. Very beefy, feels strong, came hair-shaving sharp, the sheath is very nice. It gets consistently good reviews on the net, so it's a safe bet.
IF some one facked that they would need to sell it for WAY more then what the real thing would be .. for what some one would need to get a set up to make a fake would be way more them the BIG factory can pump the (real thing ) .. NOT A FAKE..maybe not good but its real .. at least I think
Not to sound like a dick but hears a serious question...do the Chinese invent or do any sort of innovating? Asians here in the US are typically really smart and creative people but that dosent seem to be the case for the ones that live in China. The other day I was looking on Amazon for a new Safety Razor and I thought I was looking at the Merkur Futur but I noticed the price was like a fraction of what it should be...so reading the customer comments it turns out its a Made in China copy...why dosent China just come up with there own design? Knives and shaving razors arnt exactly rocket science.
I don’t think it matters lol. I’ve been carrying the fake for 5 years now almost daily. Holds an edge, did me well working at a Carwash where it was routinely damp. Just a solid all around knife. Only negative thing was when the pocket clip broke off but it really doesn’t matter much
Personally I like the fine edge better than the serrations any day. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and opinion on the Grylls pocket folder, I appreciate it sir.
Ill keep my eyes open for it, also, i started making videos to but i stopped because im getting a real camcorder and tripod. My cell phone is a pain to make videos, but you can see the ones I've made so far, i have a you tube channel. Omega survival it has a yellow and black biohazard symbol, maybe you can leave me some pointers. Thanks again bison.
if the fake bear grylls scout knife stabbed you, does it also make a fake wound? lol
2:45 look at the signature on the blade. They are different. The loop on the "e" in bear is clearly different on the two signatures
My fake is my favorite knife. Had it for about 5 years now and carry it almost daily. Damn good knife, paid 6 bucks on eBay
Right? Fake or not its the best pocket knife ever. Has never failed me once.
Personally I like the fine edge better than the serrations any day. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and opinion on the Grylls pocket folder, I appreciate it sir.
I like the fake because it doesn't have a serrated blade. Heck, at $10 its a great bargain if it holds up to your testing.

A lagit Gerber will have a serial number on the blade of all bear grylls knives near the tange or hinge point for folding blade knives
Are you sure those are not both fake? The gerber logo isnt supposed to look like that and the joint screws are supposed to be rounded.
Best pocket knife I've ever owned. Been using it daily for 7 years and it has never once failed me.
At the end of the day, what difference does it make? Does it cut shit?
hahahahaha so true
Easy way to tell it's fake is the fact that it's in a box, no BG knifes came in a box., original comes in a clamshell plastic type case.
u do know there are to versions of the scout made becuase theres a fine edge and serrated
The blade on the original is uniformly curved all the way to the tip of the blade . On the ( possible ) counterfeit curvature disappears shortly before the tip and that small part of the blade looks more straight. Check the curvature on both blades.

3:33 - I actually reached for my phone to check my messages, then realised it wasn't mine. o.O
No problem...if the quality is all right.

what's the original packaging of the original scout knife?
You can compare the picture of original box from clone box. The original bg handle is rubberized.
i also have fake bear grylls scout knife, but very sturdy :)
I have the same knife, retail here is £60. I wish I found this 1 for 10.99, probably only worth that much even from gerber
Buggingin should post a video of his call to Gerber customer service in Oregon to ask them if they use non-blister packaging for some of their knives.
If you guys are wondering how they are so on point with the fake, its because gerbers original knife is made in china and apparently blueprints and product production plans gets leaked. So thats how they are on point.
Could the Fake Bear Grylls cut WildHog or Elephant skin..
Purchased an authentic one today. Its very useful and handy to use.
how do you know the original is original???
Hey brother I enjoy your channel and respect your opinion and reviews but one question,,, what's with all the grylls stuff? Just asking nit complaining or like dissing you just don't understand all the hype with this Bear Grylls crap. Thanks for sharing.
Right on man just asking
I am a fan of the man and a collector of the products.
how bout their weight?, which one is lighter?
If it's a fake it might even be better than the Gerber. With their chea steel. Consider the $12 Ganzo Knives that are amazing quality with 440C steel. both made in china anyway rite ? LOL

"fakes" happen when buying from places like e-bay etc trying to get the real deal at super cheap prices.
I'm about to get this knife and how do I know if it's fake cause you really can't tell in the photos
Fake one will cut you in pieces, so nothing is fake regarding blades and knives.
Does it really matter? I bet it'll cut just as well as the original, if not better. XD
both are fake. On the gerber website is the photo and it has a serial number printed on the blade.
i bought bg folding knife and i think it is fake. but hey, it is durable like the orig.
the fake gerber knife is my edc knife for almost 5 years. great value for money.
Gerber DOES make a version without the serrations.
This is not a fake and when I got my bear grylls paracord knif and tinder box it was pretty thick
Are the Gerber grylls knives any good I not really sold I real have a hard time spending money on things and the turn out to be shit, I have noticed you have alot of Gerber stuff

wow if thats a fake its amazing great video
Last week I bought 2 scout knives from 2 different Places on Amazon and I sent them both Back because they're fakes
Hate the partially serrated blade!
Are you going to do a video of your bug out room soon.?
Bison once said he was going to make a video of the room he stores his bug out gear in
He crazy!!!! AHHHH
sadly i like the fake more😢😂!
The real knives come in plastic blister packs.
there was a difference in the jimping
