saw this model being show cased by your channel and I jumped; I only recognized the name from your blogs because when I research some of the cheaper enthusiast based products, your blog has popped up and I really respect your blog.
Really refreshing to see your brand on RUclips, hope to see more of you and the channel

Love these! If I ever get on our Dive/Rescue team at work (career firefighter), I’m buying one!

Great review, I've always been curious about that watch from randomly seeing it around. I didn't quite realize how big it was, so good to know.

The best divers watch ever built imo. Blows Seiko divers out of the water...literally! True functionality and chapter ring/bezel line up. Brushed not polished case too. Built for actual diving. ISO certified also.

When I think of a dive computer, I think about the devices that replaced the Recreational Dive Planner table. Basically it factors in depth, time at depth, and times at the surface in between dives to minimize the risk of decompression sickness, or as divers call it, the bends.
Anyways, they were super rare and pricey when I was getting certified. I suspect a lot recreational divers today would struggle to remember how to use the old table as dive computers have become commonplace. They still however kinda look like a cellphone with a watch strap IMO.
You would need to use the table if this watch was your dive computer. This is more akin to a dive watch with a depth gauge. That being said, I would totally dive with this. It's super cool.

If only it was Eco-Drive and a tad smaller I would jump on Citizen's bandwagon with both feet. Oh well...

Another "if only it was ecodrive" person! There is a reason it is not ecodrive, because it is a serious divers watch that must be able to be 100% relied upon not to fail. Ecodrives charge an internal capacitor that can run out of charge mid dive if you are not careful with no warning. A battery powered quartz movement such as this one has a built in battery replacement warning indicator so you know to replace the battery. It is ISO certified and ecodrive movements would not pass the reliability criteria for this certification. Basically if this watch tells you the battery is running out, you replace it. An ecodrive will simply stop when the charge is depleted...Not something you want to happen during any underwater excursion where you are reliant on your watch providing you with critical feedback and information. Ecodrive and automatic movements are not ideal for a dedicated dive watch. Battery powered Quartz movements are.

@chris101gray3 Woah, take it easy cowboy. As you probably have read I was talking about my preferences and my preferences only. I didn't say why oh why Citizen made this mistake. Tbh I am not particularly interested in how it works in a diving environment. I'd buy it because it's an interesting looking watch with a gimmick, just like 99% of potential buyers. I am sure there are people who purchase it and use it as a dive watch, but something tells me that Citizen is well aware that the vast majority of their clientele want the watch for desk diving (unless their marketing team lives in 1995). So I guess we're allowed to express our wants and needs for them to hear. Not all of us are balls deep in the Watches of Espionage, sometimes we just want funky watches to wear on the weekend.

Andrei take a look at the seiko Arnie series that now have depth metres, they are solar and have back light screens and water temperature if that interests you. Cheers
