can the PCV valve case a whistle or squeeze noise ( not constant) ? I changed the tensioner and tensioner pully + idle pully and still the same issue..
No cons, the benefit is that it allows crankcase ventilation and you won't be cooking your oil. PCV valve is an easy consumable you should change rather frequently and before it goes bad. Lots of people have oil burning issues and can't track it down, this is it.
Does that hole on the PCV valve have to line up with the hose opening? I just changed mine but I think the hole on the valve is facing the opposite way.
Man I wish someone would've answered this question, I have the same concern. My old one hole was facing away from hose, but with little knowledge I have, it seems to make more sense to have the hole facing the hose. The guy in the video did it facing the hose so my truck contradicts me lol. Please someone clarify!
so i went to the site to find a pcv valve for my 2014 Ram 1500 and from what i see you don't have it or even carry it.. please link the product.. 2014 ram 1500 5.7L Hemi 4x4
+Dan Dulany Thanks for checking us out! We currently do not have this part available as we rotate our stock frequently. We may carry it again but we would not have a specific date.
clean off the valve.. you should be able to blow into the bottom and air come out top end. However it should completely seal off when you try to suck in through the same bottom side
@A1autoparts I got white and little blue smoke. All my spark plugs and boots been changed out. 2013 Dodge Ram 1500 bighorn 5.7 v8 . So what's your take on it?
+snarsnippy We wouldn't be able to diagnose an issue like that here, you may want to have a local mechanic take a look at it. Thanks for checking us out! 1aau.to/m/Shop-1AAuto-c
@@jonathenhill5734 The Rams have MAP sensor, rather than a MAF sensor.. I think it essentially does the same thing. I replaced my MAP and PCV valve and cleaned the throttle body all at the same time. Put it back together, got a P0113 code, so now looking to replace the Air Temp intake sensor.
+Lou Indorato Thanks for watching! I checked our listings and unfortunately we do not carry the PCV valve for the model shown in this video! We are always adding parts to our inventory so check back with us in the future. 1aauto.com

What’s the purpose of disconnecting the battery cable? Thanks for the upload 👌🏾
I replaced mine this weekend with 148k miles and it looked very good with a little oil on it. Easy job.
Great video thank very informative!! But why to remove the battery pole when what you replace has nothing to with electrical ?
Because that's what the service manual says and they don't want to be liable by leaving out a step.
its to easy to let the magic smoke out of a dodge
Great video and very easy to follow from start to finish.
Great video! Is this the same for the 2013-2018 6.4l hemi ram trucks?
Pro tip….disconnect the intake tube and lift the whole air box out, you can practically sit in the engine bay after!
You should have vacuumed out the debris in the air box before putting the filter back in, otherwise excellent video : )
I've changed many PCV valves over the years and never disconnected the battery, At what point in yur process did you reconnect it?
Once again thank you for this instruction video .. Well done.

Why did you have to take the battery cable off?
Can someone please explain why the battery disconnect? Thank you.
just for safety. specially if u have a clutch fan on ur car as if anyone turn on the car it will kick right on
What are the benefits of replacing the PCV valve? And what are the CONS?

@@steved8714 if you dont replace it it plugs up and eventfully will force oil out of the engine and usally everywhere.
What mileage is a good rule of thumb to change these ?
100k
Me gustó mucho el video y yo mismo le voy a hacer a mi ram.Gracias
Could this part cause milky oil to blow everywhere
Saludos muy buena explicación
Do you have a video for 3.6 pentastar pcv valve on ram 1500?
+UreaSmith We do not have a video for this repair right now, but we'll keep this request in mind for a future video! 1aau.to/m/Shop-1AAuto-c

How do you know if your valve is bad?
when start eating oil and have oil being pushed threw the engine seals usally all of them but not always.
clean off the valve.. you should be able to blow into the bottom and air come out top end. However it should completely seal off when you try to suck in through the same bottom side
dose a bad pcv valve make a squeezing noise?
Excellent perfect thanks you
Nice you help me a lot🙏🏻

Burning oil bro
Piston rings
Hey my pcv valve looks exactly like that orange tip how do I know it’s bad?

They don't even sell this part but great video though.
Why couldn’t, they use that design on the 3.6. That one is a nightmare!1
so you took the negative off but you didn't clean masair flow sensor and clean it another day. why your already there.
Lol this vehicle doesnt have a maf sensor
@@chrisperdue921 so you're saying the sensor on the intake tube isn't the maf sensor?! Well what is it then?

You went way overkill on a procedure that takes 4 minutes to complete
I looked up the part in canada and it costs 140 dollara. Ridiculous
I went to your site to order one and can't seem to order one. What am I doing wrong ?

Thumbs down, you created a video for a part you do not even sell? LOL
Why do you have to take negative battery off?
Just being overly safe.
