I know there's a stunt double doing her thing in these scenes, but still...the fact that Ming-Na Wen is flippin' 50+ years old in all of these scenes always astounds me. She does an amazing job with all of the physical work she does for these action scenes, not to mention her acting.
Im actually studying these two so i can analyse their skills so i can make reasonable answer to the question may vs black widow and so far from what i learned these two are somewhat identical even the technics and martial arts they use are similar

My favourite is the one where she fight Mace in the Framework, because for all her skill it proves she is human and can loose. She really cuts loose on him, but with rare exceptions he rolls with every hit, blocks and counters so cleanly even May can't easily land a blow and, finally, sets her temper off to such a degree she drops her guard and he punches her into a building twenty feet away with such force she goes through the wall. Also, because after she accuses him of being a terrorist and a traitor he points out if he was? She'd be dead. Second is when she use's the Asgardian staff, since she has to confront her deepest, darkest demons and nightmares just to do it, the affect being made worse the more of the staff she holds. Ward manages two segments once, but can't do it twice. May not only picks the two parts up, she unifies the staff and hammers her opponent across the room and stands there looking like she could do it all day long-and anyone who's seen the series knows she has serious issues in her head she has to fight through to do it. But she just does. Badass.
The only people who can keep up with Agent May in hand to hand combat is Quake/Daisy and Mockingbird. She loves fighting them you can tell. Lol. Like she's having fun because they do a move she wasn't expecting and she'll have either a face of shock or happiness. Lol
Bobbi maybe but not daisy she doesn't have enough training in h2h. She could beat her with her powers but without them she's not as strong physically to beat may
Agent Melinda May is also a great kickass and gunfighter too. I really like her fighting and tactical skills and great in gunfight and hand-to-hand combat skills. 🇬🇧🕵️💋🔥🌆
I’d say once. In the first one may had her pinned with a gun but she disabled the power and ran away as the lights flickered. The second time they fought May was more so testing Morse as she said so herself. If May was really trying to hurt Bobbi I think she would’ve attacked differently
To me the middle seasons was where May was at her weakest point. The show definitely down played her so agent Morse and sky could get more attention. Later series May would destroy agent Morse
Idk why this popped into my head, but I feel like if May had kids she'd be that mom who wakes up at five in the morning to work out before her kids wake up. 😂

She's unstoppable in one episode, the next Ward or Daisy or some random bad guy take her to school. C'mon, a generic S.H.I.E.L.D. agent...Bobbi Morse...pretty much totally dominates May? When in AoS lore, May is The Cavalry? But Bobbi had to establish her bona-fides...the plot said so. Another quibble of mine is the `artistic' martial arts...one fight has her breaking bones, the next has her trading punches with guys twice her size. Yes, I get that it has to look good and so on, but the inconsistency is irritating.Still, she's the best female bad-axe on TV...or in my opinion, in the entire MCU. Sure, Black Widow gets the big bucks...maybe deservedly so...but May is a much richer character from what we've seen.
Dana says- In addition to Sharan Mudda's points I would like to add that Bobbi Morse isn't just some "generic SHIELD agent" she's 'Mockingbird', who in the comics is a very well trained SHIELD agent and trusted by Nick Fury to go up against several big bads. She was also paired up with Barton/Hawkeye for a while as his partner and eventually as his wife and Co-Founding member of the West Coast Avengers. So yeah, not just a generic S.H.I.E.L.D. agent anyone can easily defeat. We don't learn any of her backstory on AoS, but she is in keeping with her comic persona (specializes in going undercover to weed out possible SHIELD double-agents, is a bad-a$$ fighter, great at undercover, and has a PhD in Biology). Bobbi Morse is should be on-par with May. May can and does still beat her, but not by much and there's good reason for that.
May was definitely downed play in the mid seasons to give more attention to Sky and agent Morse. She was a beast in the early seasons and later season's
