When I was younger I HATED being dramatic shape, I'm an inverted triangle with very sharp boyish features. As I got older, I've really embraced it - these features age well - my cheekbones compliment me more with age. Shout out to my dramatic gals

When you get al the small feature but no cheekbones. Also all the angular sharp bones but neither narownes nor a vertical line. AND you hate the aestetic to the very core od your being. Am I supposed to embrace this shit? I love the system but it doesnt love me back.

I guess that my confusion is often based on whether or not a person has some weight. You can't see whether person's bones are sharp and blunt anymore. Also, I feel like brows can mislead me too. If they are straight and sharp it may seem that a person is dramatic when in reality they are not. Hm

I think soft dramatic can be confusing to type, because Kibbe does say that it's not necessary that soft dramatics are very fleshy, and usually when they aren't they may lack in the bust and hip area (which is certainly my case). Also, most examples of soft dramatics are usually women of a riper age which is reflected in their figure. But if you see their younger pictures, some of them are actually quite thin and you wouldnt think to type them as soft dramatic. I think this could be a good topic to discuss!

I was confused between R and SN until I tried on the lines for SN and went ".....yeah. no."
The biggest difference between R and SN is the frame. Even if Rs can be slightly wide they usually don’t have the frame, when they get heavier they look puffy. They are narrow and small framed overall. SNs doesn’t need width always, but they need frame. They look like they can carry stronger line, more voluptuous curves. The JLO curve to be precise. Romantics will have a double curve, and no elongation. SN doesn’t need that, they have stronger and more “Instagram curves”.

Still unsure. I am 177cm tall, which is just a bit above the average in my country. I definitely have an hourglass figure, with 97cm, both hips and bust and 56cm waist. I have long limbs, quite thin ones and tapered shoulders. My feet are rather small for this height- 37eu, but they appear long as they’re narrow. I don’t put on weight easily and when I do, my waist appears even smaller in comparison to the rest of the figure. I don’t have angular face at all, it’s roundish oval with full cheeks. I have big almond eyes and full lips. My head is quite big so I don’t really appear as tall as I really am, though my much taller boyfriend might also be the case
Don't look at the details (makes you confused) focus on the overall image. If you described yourself in a few words what would it be? What sticks out? For me I'm long lean and small = gamine.
At that height you can only be Soft Dramatic, Dramatic or Flamboyant Natural. So when you look at yourself in the mirror what do you notice first? Is it your height and curvy figure or your shoulders and frame? If your curves are the first thing you see you are probably SD. If your frame is the dominant feature, then you are probably FN. And, if your length and narrowness is the dominant feature you are most likely a pure D.
I would love to see those types with more weight on their bones
This is a very good suggestion! Kibbe types retain their underlying features despite weight gain, but excess fat certainly obscures them and makes it very difficult to determine which category you fall under. It would be helpful to see an 1) underweight, 2) healthy weight, 3) overweight and 4) obese example of the body types, along with an explanation of typical fat distribution for each as well.

@@jac5450 I agree. However, the term 'curves' is misused, I fear. It became synonym for overweight. It's wrong. The most lean and fragile, delicate body can have curves. Google supermodel of 90's Yasmeen Ghauri. Lean and lush Soft Dramatic.

Can you make a video about deciding body types of your subscribers? I think many people would love to see it as everyone have problems with it. I understand that you're making this series for this purpose but why not get closer with the audience? It'll be very intertaining at least for me as you mostly show radical/very pronounced examples while in "real life" people kinda harder to type??????? Am I right? I love your body types videos. Could you do one with key garment pieces for every type...? Like, not an entire wardorobe but "if you are a romantic/natural/dramatic, this is a great key piece for summer". Something like that🤗🤗💕💕💕💕
The BIGGEST FLAW of that typing system is that it needs people to be model thin to be typed correctly. Any extra weight, even if it's ever so slight, can cause anybody to be in a whole different category that might be completely wrong for them.

Huh, I'm just sitting here reflecting over the fact that I prefer my face when I have a bit more weight on (but my body with a bit less) cause my face turns reeeeaally angular and masculine when it has less fat on it TT i like it better while rounded. I suppose I'm just a dramatic all the way

I am especially grateful for these videos! I am studying this as a hobby and even though I watched almost ALL your videos, sometimes I still have some confusion :) lol. Somehow I feel that I could be ALL the body types besides Gamine and Romantic hahaha, and I can only close those out as I am 180 cm tall and not that curvy. Anyhow, I will be on the quest to figure this one out. Trends come and go. Embrace and love yourself because you are unique the way you are. Many women starve themselves in order to loose weight and achieve your slender figure. And you got it naturally. Slim, tall person can wear everything they want ant look good, stylish and elegant. Being slim is always trendy and very convenient. Chin up!
I feel like this comparison was less obvious than the Romantic vs Other types comparison. Apparently everyone has a little bit of drama, unless they're Romantic. But our Romantic sides are not so obvious when we're not Romantics. (no pun intended)😊
I'm trying to get used to the idea that I'm actually a dramatic (still not sure tho because looking at yourself objectively is hard) but the way you describe it as 'masculine' just makes me wanna rip off my skin and die 😢
It's doesnt mean you look like a man. It's just a more direct energy. There is nothing bad about it at all.

I am boyish. I'm flat cheated and am not soft or curvy. I also have quite a big head and long hands. I personally have to have long hair otherwise I feel like I look like a teenage boy. But I am ok with it because I am a product of my ancestry and I'm proud of that and I know there is no one like me. We are all completely individual.

Could you do a video on the differences between soft dramatic and flamboyant natural please? I am one of them but I just cannot work out which one! In many ways they seem to have similar attributes and from the pictures I struggle to distinguish between them definitively. I love your Kibbe series. This is the first body type system that has actually made sense to me. The distinction of skeletal structure and type of flesh gives so much more nuance and reality to the body types. Thank you for your enlightening videos!
How about difference btw SOFT NATURAL AND SOFT GAMINE?
Think of it in rectangles. SN is a wide rectangle so wide chest and shoulders and SG is a narrow rectangle

Some people have baby face but they arent gamine(selena gomez), it's about the overall look , the bone structure, the vertical line ....gamine is smaller, shorter so they does looks petite and young, but soft natural can be short too ...it depends on many things. What important is that know which type of clothing line suit the body the most( which very hard bc soft natural can wear some of gamine clothes, vice versa)

A little reminder-masculine doesnt mean manly! Very masculine women will almost always still look more womanly than very feminine men.

so basically now im dramatic in every area of my life LOL
I am 90% sure that I am a soft dramatic but sometimes still have doubts if I am a dramatic or not. I tried the dramatic hairstyles ( sleek and sculpted, straight, wasnt a look for me) also when it comes to dresses long wrap dresses suit me the most. Is there a way to clarify this easier?
Look for flesh on upper arms and bigger bust. Flesh on upper limbs is a good indicator bc most Ds have come curve on thights.

@@brunamota8865 Yes, being underweight or overweight doesn't help. But, even than, the body has accentuated bust-waist-hips ratio or it's straight. SD's don't have narrow hips or flat chest. D's rarely have any curves at all. SD is about lush flesh, unlike D. Without flesh, body can look more like D. SD has height/vertical line and curves to accommodate, D only height/vertical line. SD clothes is meant to hug the curves. It's all about the size of the curves. If you don't have them, perhaps D options would be better for you. Go by the vibe and your energy, personality. Jamie Lee Curtis and Nicole Kidman don't have very different body images. Jamie is D, Nicole is FN. It's overall vibe. And the face, although Kibbe abandoned face as relevant in his system.
@@blueice011 The thing I have caracteristics that would define me both as D and SD. I'm tall and I look tall, besides my hands and feet I believe I have long, narrow bones and all that jazz. However I look moderately curvy from the front (which could be just curves every human body has) but I'm very curvy from the back even tho I'm very close to being underweight. Does that make me a D with a booty? Or an ultrathin SD? Should I take into account how I look from the front and back? And what if those sides tell me different things?
Also as a young person I'm not really sure if I can tell the difference between a regular hourglass/pear shaped body and a instagram hourglass/pear shaped body. I think my perception is screwed up! Don't get me wrong I know you're being helpful and informative but there are a lot of questions left unanswered, especially because all the creators talking about this subject mainly use white women as examples
i feel like because i am tall, lean, with long limbs i automatically fall into the dramatic category but my face is not angular or dramatic, i dont think. i dont have any very outstanding features except perhaps my dark eyebrows. i like the structured clthing and long lines of dramatic style, but the clean lines and lack of patterns in classic as well. too much pattern looks clownish on me.
I disagree that when one has sharpness she looks strong and less female looking. The behavior and the way one carries oneself, facial expressions, body language, aura etc. Is more dominant in my opinion. Then the sharpness or softness in her lines.
I love you! You are so insightful and gorgeous! I like that you have grown your hair so its below your chin and lightened it to add more contrast (both of these make your face less wide) and have styled it in a way that is more straight yet still soft/tousled (so it's still soft gamine). I think this has definitely slimmed your face and suits you! I like the lipstick you have chosen for this video better than the mauve-y pink one you normally wear b/c I think that one is a bit too cool-toned. Also, are you wearing colored contacts or is it just the lighting or the tan? They look lighter. I'd definitely be interested in seeing what your brown hair would look like with baby highlights and your green eyes--I think it'd be really pretty! Maybe for Fall? This is just my opinion which I think agrees with the stuff you say in your vids!
Hey Aly, I love your channel and your analysis on the body types. I would like to request for an analysis of the different body types and the saree and saree draping styles for them. I think I am a soft gamine and always end up looking childish instead of elegant in them and would love to know more about how to style them so I at least look decent in them. @khedidja Sallah Oh it's not for me, I am a hardcore romantic 😁 I cannot see the difference on other people. Sometimes, when flamboyant natural is very skinny, it looks like a dramatic to me.
I think I'm a flamboyant natural (I THINK😊) It's obvious to me because Naturals look more, manly. Dramatics don't look manly, they look, sharp, but not like men. Not like your typical man. Their hips are too narrow, their shoulders are too, slight. If they were a man they would look like they were starving, or like they hadn't finished growing. A Natural looks like your typical man (of the same height and size). If that makes sense.
@@ebbyc1817 flamboyant naturals are more square-ish and strong looking, yes. Also they have beautiful cheekbones, like flamboyant gamines. 😊 But I still cant decipher 100% It takes practice I guess 😊

I am FN, my Mom is dramatic. She has narrower shoulders, thin lips, pointy elbows, her wrists and ankles are really thin while mine are wide. I am more muscular and wider in general.

So good! But I'm continue confusing yet. It's possible if I have Dramatic face but Flamboyant natural Body?
I could never tell if I was a dramatic or a flamboyant natural. I'm tall (5'9), and have very long bones (legs, arms, feet, etc.), however I also have large hips with a rather big behind, despite being bony. I feel if I was a dramatic then I wouldn't have a soft- oblong face with large eyes. Am I a mix?
You can have some yin features in your face and be a D. You can also have a big butt and be one because Kibbe uses the front of our bodies and a curvy butt isn't taken into consideration there. It's about whether you have width (the fabric pulling around your shoulders/ribcage), or you are narrow all over and more 'straight' leaning. Maybe you can also take a look at celebs.
I am still not sure if I am Soft Dramatic or Theatrical Romantic. I will patiently wait for that video

I use to be more of a soft classic in my younger age. Now that I am older, I see myself as more of a dramatic classic as I am thinner and good ol' arthritis gives me more of a "sharper" appearance. When you age, you lose collagen and elasticity. Your bones appear prominent- especially arthritic joints. Just saying.

Curious...what happens if you dress a theatrical romantic in classic clothes?
She will probably look understated and "boring" , kinda like she needs to add something more to the outfit. On the other hand, SC will look absolutely harmonious in some understated "classic" and timeless pieces.

Confused between DRAMATIC and FLAMBOYANT NATURAL for myself 😢
What confuses me sometimes are people who look Dramatic but aren't tall, like Oona Chaplin for instance. I'm guessing Oona is Gamine?
Very straight, no hips, thin bones, thin lips, long torso, long thin nose, soft inverted triangle facial shape, small eyes, cheekbones are not angular, 5"6'. Now that I'm older, I look much softer! Currently losing the fleshy parts with weight loss. Guessing mostly Dramatic for myself. My weight gain has been in my torso. Yang energy for sure.
This is sometimes such a hard type to be.. I used to love fluffy clothes, But now I think I don't look good on, them.. It's a kibbe rabithole 😶sorry about my english😅

This is helpful! Still not sure if I'm gamine or dramatic, though. In photos people think I look tall, unless there is another human in the photo. (I'm a long limbed 5' wtf lol)
It's extremely rare for someone that's 5ft to look 5'8 & above. You might look taller than your height, but not tall enough to look dramatic. Gamines actually tend to have long arms.

Cool it feels very good to be told over and over that I look masculine. Very good for the ego.

What if my body looks like a pure dramatic but my face is the complete opposite? I have kind of an oval/rectangular shaped face with chubby cheeks which doesn't resemble the stereotypical dramatic at all
Now I'm really confused. I'm pretty tall (180 cm), have sharp facial features even though I have full lips. Also I have thin and long fingers, small and thin feet. Sharp shoulders and collar bone with thin waist and small chest. On the other hand I have thick tights and bigger but. Even though I'm normal weight.

Looking at Jamie Lee Curtis' build I think I am dramatic. But I have been lifting heavy weights for years and so I do have muscle on my frame. It is hard won muscle though as I don't gain easily. That makes figuring this out much more difficult. If I lose body fat though, I am told I look too bony. Is that a clue?
I wish there was an app or something for you to upload your photos and AI to tell you everything. Currently scribbling notes as crazy and trying to apply everything to myself and I feel overwhelmed T_T
