    When I was 17 years old I stayed there as my “senior independent study” project for about 2 weeks. I went back and stayed for awhile in the summer after I graduated. I am so happy to find this video and especially to see Sister Veronique.

    Some of these comments are so disappointing. It's beautiful that there is such a multiplicity of practice and ways to worship; this diversity only reflects how encompassing G-d is. Who are you to judge? He who is without sin may cast the first stone. I can only hope that you begin to feed the peace in your heart rather than the doubt

    Quiet, nature, and prayer. They have a beautiful environment there. I think some of the comments might be jealous. Usually these vocation videos are to attract young women. These older women have probably been there since they were very young. They did not actually show them at mass, but many nuns who do not wearh abits anymore still wear a veil or head covering during Mass. A narrated video from 3yrs ago "On the road with Thomas Merton" traces his desert trip of 1968 and he stayed there. 2 or 3 of the oldest nuns met him at that time. Sister Veronique was one of them.

    Doubt you are right, but this is a lovely video nd tend to believe every word. We all abused in some fashion during our lifetime. We struggle and we love and we hurt and then love again. Some get stuck in struggle and forget to love again. We should see love in others. Jesus said " Love the Lord your God with all your heart and soul and Neighbor as yourself" If you can do this you have covered every one of the ten commandments. When we judge that is not loving neighbor. If anyone is abused the person abusing will be punished, if they do not as Jesus for forgiveness and are forgiven. Judging is a sin to and we must ask forgiveness when we do not know something for sure. Let us allow the peaceful life of a nun be left with a heart of compassion from others and knowing they are at peace and living a life our Lord wants. Each of us must pay attention to our own path and try to make sure we are not on a road that is not so peaceful or following God properly. As proper as we can, anyway. Blessings and love

    What went ye for to see? Those clothed in fine raiment live in kings houses. Matthew
    John wore camel skins and leather. His clothing was as the prophets of old who spoke a divine critique against a corrupt society.
    A true Christian looks with love at the inner being and not at the outward clothing.
    Take no thought of what you will eat or drink but focus on your torn relationship with GOD.

    Most churches can no longer afford to support nuns - shrinking congregation, shrinking tithes. Those old church buildings are expensive to run and are often old and need A LOT of repairs and for what a building intended to hold a sisterhood several times the size it is now. Many groups are going to smaller more environmentally friendly, sustainable ways of living to become financially independent etc. Nuns in habits [since apparently, that's important] who run a microbrewery to support themselves.
    Fewer priests, fewer nuns, fewer people going into religious life some are going to have to accept it will look different than they remember here on out.

      @Soundofmusic777
      I see a contradiction here? Does this mean that women have to dress a particular way on the outside to match their insides in order to represent themselves correctly? To me that's a faulty understanding of how symbolism works. It amounts to saying that since things of God are beautiful, only beautiful things are of God, so if something is ugly, it's obviously not of God. Isaiah 52-53 speaks of the suffering servant who is not visually beautiful or even worth noticing. I get the tradition you're coming from, but there are problems with how you're applying it.
      But apart from that, leading with "tramps" to describe peaceful women in their 60s was not going to get your message across readily.
