Tech Gear Talk haha sorry no. The one that it came with - it's the circular flat plate on top but it has the male side 6 sides big plastic piece on the bottom to fit the fluid head into the bottom legs of the monopod to make the tabletop size tripod
Wow I used to watch this channel all the time before it went all Apple all the time but seeing this monopod review made me revisit it because I love my Ifootage so much.
I had not heard of this brand before. Monopods are nearly vital for wedding filmmaking, and I am in the market for one! Thanks for the review/features, it was well-done & informative without being over the top, you hit the sweet spot on this one.
Thanks Chris. I randomly came across this brand at NAB - saw what they had to offer and really liked it. This is the first product that I actually used and I really liked it.
@@TechGearTalk Of course! especially when you are filming live events like weddings, I can re frame faster. Also bonus vertical traveling revealing shots and dolly in and out shots. So versatile!!!
This was the 3rd review I've watched for this monopod and by far the best, showing all the features. The others had a couple tips, but only focused on a couple of the cool things this can do. It's on my wish list now for sure!
Right - ON TARGET!!! I was in the market for a quality monopod and narrowed it down to two. Sirui and iFootage. Only looked at Amazon but decided to see if I could get some reviews of monopods on RUclips first. Saw your video and... Bam. You sold me on this monopod AND the Komodo fluid head. I'm getting both. What really sold me on the monopod was your demo of the twist to extend or retract feature. That to me is a game changer compared to other models. I already have an iFootage tripod and already knew the quality of their products is top tier. So no sell job needed from that perspective. Thanks for the video. I'm glad I clicked on it and saw it before making any purchase. Cheers. 🥂
Yeah, that twist and extend thing is the game changer for me too. Guess I will be spending money soon. Lol. By the time I buy it I wouldn’t be surprised if they came out with the longer version of it. I think more monopods are going to copy this style soon.
@@eatermckinnon4644 My order is currently on its way to me. I ordered both the monopod and the fluid head. I'm not a tall person so I think with the monopod extended fully and with the fluid head and camera attached, it should be a great height for me. It is a nice monopod. Too bad the Strike is a bit to big to fit in a carry on bag. However I have read that airports have a compartment to store things like tripods and canes.
I have to wonder if you’ve tried out the Sirui monopods. They blow this out of the water with some features and they had that game-changer feature 6 years ago. Their base locking system is the best and the feet are the longest and strongest.
@@TechGearTalk Tank you for the response. If you do get the opportunity to work with one, I'd say, try the P-424sr. However, their entire line is well designed. Keep making great content. Thank you.
Great review. This monopod looks amazing. Do you recommend it also for traveling and hiking, or would the smaller click version c120 be more convenient? I just wonder if you can easily put in a suitcase or rucksack.
It's a tossup between smaller and more portable (which I always love) and the functionality. If I could still fit this in my bag, I'd take this one. If I couldn't, I'd take the click version. Does that make sense?
Hello, Very interesting review and system. Which larger dimensions the small tripod part can take on the ground? Also, iFootage seems to not sell it anymore. Any problem with the model?
Excellent monopod review, sir! As a stills landscape and product photographer, I'm thinking of a monopod to complement my tripods, and am considering either the IFOOTAGE Cobra C180-II (with a Leofoto VH-105 tilting head)....OR a Sirui P-324, but have heard of the following possible issues. Any thoughts on these alleged “issues" or which monopod is more robust? "The Cobra 2 has a "plastic" ball joint at the base, and the 1/4 3/8 threads don't completely retract for mounting". "The Sirui's ball joint at the base gets dirt/grit easily, making cleaning necessary more often." Thank you!
