Fix Luggage Handle That Is Stuck

My handle cracked in half and glue might not hold ,so this is how I fixed that.
1)Try the simple fix first (tape or oil )
2)Check to see if all screws are in place.

This video gave me the confidence to take apart the top handle, now that I know what’s in it. My handle isn’t broken, but it allowed me access to work with the metal rods inside. I finally got the pins to come popping out on the handle. Ultimately, I just oiled up the whole thing and now it works more or less. I still have to manually pop the pins in and out to really retract the handle. But thank you! I’ve come to the conclusion that all of these retractable handles need regular oiling with machine oil.

Is this something I can do while at the airport with no tools or tape frantically trying to fix before my next flight?
Update: when I got to hotel I followed the video. I was able to get the handle to slide and rigged it so it wouldn't lock. I still had another flight to take before reaching home.
