The minimum wages are negotiated between employers and unions in Sweden and written into the collective agreements where each sector has different. Most workplaces have such agreements and in them you can read what the minimum wage is at your particular workplace. You can ask what collective agreement the company has, then talk to the person who is unionized at work, they will help you tell what the minimum wage is, but also what is a reasonable wage to ask for (because it could be that the minimum wage is significantly lower than what everyone earns there. doesn't have to be like that but can be like that and then you can get a worse salary than your colleagues, if you don't know this ), of course you get that help because you then join the union . Companies without such an agreement can pay very little, there are those who pay as low as SEK 40 an hour, you cannot live on that in Sweden. In general, try to avoid workplaces that do not have a collective agreement because the risk is high here that they are a company that in one way or another tries to deceive you and it is not rare that they turn to immigrants who do not know all the rules in Sweden.
Thank you Amaraizu! You are spot on always! :-) You have obviously been here for a while . Because you seem to allready know all the shortcuts and tricks to live cheaper and better here. As a native I appreciate your videos alot! Its entertaining and sometimes you even know better than the native Swedes how to get around ( I have also watched your Part 1- The same good information!). "Arbetsförmedlinhgen" should hire you for African people who are coming here, so they get faster into the society and enjoy Sweden more
Do you think a solo mother can make it with a 7 year old boy to migrate to Sweden? Basic wage to start and be able to afford second hand accommodation?
One can always talk with colleges about salary.. but with the caveat, dont brag! In any case about 80% of swedes work in a company with colletive agreement, one can always talk to ones union leaders, they can tell about how much you can get! They dont like if you undercut there members barganing efforts! Your salary is dependent of your skills/seniority and how much resposibility you have! And ther is no bad weather in sweden only people with bad clothes!
