Kama Are A Nasty Kobudo Weapons. It's Just Mean Man!

This is the kama kata that we practice in Ryu no Tate jutsu. This form highlights methods for using the kama against a wielder of a longer weapon such as a staff or a spear. The techniques could of course be used against an unarmed opponent, but they are better suited for head-on straight linear attacks. In my opinion this would not be a style that is good for defending against someone wielding a sword or any other medium ranged bladed weapon. Having said that, defending against handheld weapons like clubs and knives would work as well because the very nature of how the user moves into attacking range and intercepts incoming strikes would have the blades of the kama coming into contact with the opponent's limbs in many cases. I will be posting some of the bunkai of this kata in the very near future.
