I'm using an unresponsive yoyo and I'm really having trouble dismounting in the ways shown in the vid... any advice or common things that could make it go wrong? Either the dismount doesn't work at all, or it creates a knot that bounces the yoyo back violently on the next toss.

hey im always consistently landing on one or two string which is an easy fix but every time the yoyo is coming around to land on the string almost everytime it starts winding up. any reason?
Maybe because your yoyo is responsive try using a unresponsive yoyo this might not help you because its been 3 months and maybe you found other solution's for it

You need to begin on a responsive yoyo because you need to develop the feel to not get snags easily I tried that skip too but I realized early and learned all the responsive tricks that I could before switching to unresponsive
The Manan J I did start on a responsive yoyo, thanks. I still play with it all the time, actually, for the very reason you describe, and I'm aware of the pitfalls of beginning unresponsive. Nonetheless, I learned double or nothing best on an unresponsive yoyo. Not everyone learns the same way, and when you reply on RUclips comments, try not to assume you know more than the person to whom you're replying. I understand if you were just trying to be helpful, but your tone came off a bit presumptive and condescending. But maybe that's just me.

Joose Kantola That wasn’t what I was correcting. It’s very unlikely I would correct somebody on capitalization. Honestly, it’s fairly rare that I correct somebody on when I did correct him on. I guess I just felt like it that day.
