I’m a beginning weaver and I found this video so helpful and clear and inspiring. Thank you so much!!
It is always fascinating listening to the language of the artist. It is a language that takes an
artist to both understand and appreciate. For a left brain person, who thinks in words and
logic, listening to you in your videos is like learning a whole new language rooted in a visual
world that is alien to my logical-rational way of thinking and seeing.
Vitality PLUS!! I love your enthusiasm and your creativity. Thank you for your all your videos.
thank your for your technical demonstration of your magnificent artistic productions
Seeing you so excited about your projects and lessons is so adorables!! I love and appreciate all your videos and always learn so many cool things!! Now I need to finish building my weaving loom so I can try my hand at weaving with all my small amounts of handspun yarn!! I never seem to spin enough for a knitted item so this is perfect for me! :) have a lovely day and stay well.
Ooo you had me at hand built loom 😍😍😍 so glad my videos resonate. Would love to see pix of your loom when finished.
You are so creative..I love what you make..you are very very patient 😊
I've never tried this but I love the yarn. Fun. Thank you
For fun do what the Navajos did. Get a slim branch from any tree, whittle the end to a point, hold a piece of medium grit sandpaper on the table, and sand to a pointed, blunt end. Wait till later to strip the bark or do it now . Usually left the bark on the branch (shuttle). Wrap the weft only 3 - 5 times around the shuttle each direction, makes for quicker release of weft. Just found your videos so excuse tips. I'm sure you've gotten plenty with 60 thou views. Happy warping :-) Great inspiring video.
Love the texture in your art weaving! Thanks!
I am so inspired by your video. I am a new weaver and in love with color and technique that is so creative. Thank you !
Some of the best homemade shuttles I've come across comes from any local paint store.
The wooden paint stirrers are thin -about 14" long and can easily be grooved to hold lots of yarns.
You can ask for a few at the paint store -Lowe's Home Depot or purchase directly from Amazon in handy 25 packs to 100 packs at very low prices.
I personally gorilla glue two of them together before notching and sanding out the grooves at each end. They'll often split trying to notch a single stick.
Hope this idea helps.
i would not beat too hard I like the soft feel of a scarf... so when i weave thats how i love my scarves to be... :)
I love saori weaving. Is so fun...
Wow. So much information here, and you share it in such an understandable and approachable way. Thank you!
My pleasure!
Beautiful! This was exactly the video I was hoping to find.
Thank you! I love art yarn and this has given me courage to weave with it. You have great tips and I love your sense of creative style that comes through your work!
Wonderful. Weaving finally makes sense to me. Ha. I want to do it now!
Thank you for this, a very lovely scarf.
i have just started to weave. i love this freestyle of weaving. can't wait to start
I really like the way you describe what you're doing.
Ordered my heddle loom after watching you for a while. I've always been a weaver on a traditional flat loom. This is going to be fun! Thanks so much for the great videos. xo
I love your enthusiasm! Art yarns are soooooooo outside my wheelhouse, but you are winning me over :)
You always make me smile your always happy love your work
I made many shuttles, a heddle, and wooden needles using Free wooden paint stirring sticks, to go with the frame loom I bought on clearance. I also bought a small plastic loom that is for making scarves. I love your scarfs, I'm going to try making one. Thanks for sharing.
I have heard of using paint sticks. Will have to give it a try.
OMG now I need to buy a decent loom!I have a small A4 sized one, but now I want to make scarves!
You can totally do it with your frame loom. Make art yarn squares and crochet or sew them together like you would granny squares!
Such great colors!
hermoso lo que haces! Wonderful. I´María, from Santa Fe . Argentina
Thanks for this video!!!!!!! I can’t wait to buy my first loom and get started💕
The ending was absolute eye candy. I'm drooling!!!
Thanks for the "how to". I'm brand new to weaving and picked up lots of tips and techniques from you. PLUS, the finished piece is gorgeous.

You are so inspiring. Thank you 🙏
Just got my first loom this week , can’t wait to get started. I thing you are fantastic your yarns are so beautiful 💗💗
Love your work Stacy! And I love your fibers. My favorite is the spinner's grab bag. I would love to use my handspun from the grab bag to weave a similar type of scarf. Your finished product reminds me of the stuff I see in the saori group, like that same type of style, but unique in your own way, of course! Really love it!! Totally inspirational! :)
nozomiwhitewolf Thank You! I would love love love to see your weaving with the grab bag yarn when you finish. I am so inspired watching fiberistas create with fibers I dye. Like watching my babies grow up.
Love your style! So inspiring!! Thanks for this video!
My pleasure! So glad it reosonated

There are dyers on ETSY that sell dyed locks of wool and wonderful hand dyed yarns.
We had to dispose of a bed and kept all the under mattress wooden slats make great shuttles and other things.
Oooooo! I bet they are awesome shuttles.
Love this
I just found your videos. I just moved to Asheville and was excited when you said you were here. Where are you? Do you have a store or give lessons?
L S we moved to Raleigh last summer. I do get back to Asheville occasionally, family has a vacation place here. We we're here for the week. I rarely teach live, only if I happen to be going somewhere. I do have online classes.
Thank you
What kind of loom is this...I like how small it is.
I can't wait to buy my first loom and get started
Hi Zan, it is an Ashford Sample It. It is also similar to a Scratch Cricket. The small size is surprisingly versatile an easy to warp quickly.
thanks for this and all u share and teach and do- i read yr recommendations but i am curious which loom this one is pls- i guess it is not one that would accept the art yarns u mentioned as they look too thick for this one
This is the ashford sample it. They do make a 2.5 dent reed that will work for a chunky art yarn warp.
Gracias .. me encanta tu trabajo .. hago cosas parecidas :)
Where did you purchase your wooden weaving comb? I love the slight curve.
iamauntmeem I got the weaving come from a vendor at a fiber festival here in North Carolina. I believe it was second hand. You might try Etsy.com there are lovely hand made wood combs there
Thank you!
Estou amando seu trabalho. Sou Brasileira e você de onde é? Onde comprar essas lãs maravilhosas? Obrigada
Thank you! I am located in Raleigh, NC, US. Right now, I do not currently have work for sale, but I am adding a shop to my website this year. I will post here on my channel when that happens.
Thank you so much
My pleasure
hi, I just found you .. I'm new to weaving and good lord I'm loving it! I'm only using a flat type loom, where do you get the kind you have and what is it called? It looks like it would be a nice compact size that goes on a table. Thanks Donna - btw I just subscribed ;)
It is an ashford Sample it. You can get them at thewoolery.com
I’m obsessed with weaving recently! And there’s no places around me that does weaving classes so I have to get my own loom. I was looking at the Saori looms but my lord they’re expensive! What kind of loom are you using?
this is just a small ashford sample it loom. any rigid heddle loom will work
lovely and beautiful thank , I like the weaving kits , where you buy it? Thanks
Right now the shop is getting a revamp. But will have some yarn packs good for weaving. Probably after the first of the year...
I'm in Northern Georgia, pretty much in the sticks where it takes about 2 hours to get to a brand name craft store. They never have the artistic yarn that I'm looking for. Is there anywhere I can order from online?
I would try Etsy. List of art yarn sellers there. You might also check out the websites for fiber festivals. While most of the festivals are not happening this year many have lists of vendors with links to their websites. You also might check out FB groups. Some of them are set up for art yarn spinners and you can reach out to them directly.
Hola buen día gracias por compartir me gusto mucho tu video pero adonde puedo conseguir el telar gracias

Loved your video! Are you using an Ashford Sample It?
Thank you! Indeed. I am using am using a Sample It.
There is a beautiful and large book on the work of fiber artist Key Sekimachi and her husband, wood turner Bob Stocksdale. The book is titled "In the Realm of Nature." Sekimachi’s multiple-layered weavings and ethereal vessels are comprised of hornet’s nests, translucent skeletal leaves, simple grasses, found corals, natural flax, and linen. You can purchase the book at: www.fineartspress.com
You've inspired me to buy a loom and start weaving!! Thank you so much. I just love your designs. Instagram as Wilts Woollens ☺️☺️
hi , thank you for your very kind information . I'm living in London and I can't find any store or on line to buy this beautiful hand spun yarn If you help me that is very kind of you
thank you
nasrin ahady there are some great hand spun art yarns on Etsy.com.
Are you in England or Ontario? Either way google is your friend.
So you can use yarn for your warp?
Absolutely. I opt for sock yarn since it is sturdy.
compare with not-handyarn😂what's the different🐽?
Do you do wet finish to a scarf like that?
Not like you would a traditionally woven piece. I might give it a quick soak in warm water for 20ish minutes. But even then it might depend on how fragile or wash fast the yarns used are.
From where I can get this loom

Where can i buy this kind of thread
Hi Patricia. Most of this yarn is from my knitting stash, primarily sock yarn. I save ribbons and sewing trims as well. I will also hand spin chunk yarns with weaving in minds.
qué tipo de lana usas ?
corriedale o Merino ?
miradas1967 I use both. Most is merino, but much of my hand spun is corriedale as well as other wool breeds.
Can you tell me name of that loom?
Hi Patti. It is a 8" Ashford Sample It
What dpi is your heddle?
In this video I am using. 7.5 dpi
Got the loom I ordered in and I just wanted to thank you for your inspiration. Here is what I made: ruclips.net/video/UA5ksctMs3c/видео.html

SryNot so bad
Not so good
plz just stop it looks horrible
Unkown Drawing Why do you have to be so negative? It's something she enjoys and is willing to spend time doing. What is wrong with that? Even if you don't like the way it looks, she does and that's really all that matters.
art?? what a dreadful mess
Thank you
