I'm John from LearningGuitarNow.com, and in this lesson, I explain how to play a BB King-style Lucille solo, emphasizing how BB’s approach deviates from the typical positions associated with his playing style. Despite the simplicity in sound, replicating BB King's nuances, like his phrasing and vibrato, can be quite challenging. I note his tendency to mainly utilize the first position minor pentatonic scale, occasionally blending in extra notes to enhance musical expressiveness.

Very good as a 55 year BB King fan I met him many years ago
and discussed vibrato and phrasing. I have never heard anyone copy him exactly except for guitarist John Jorgenson, but John is a superstar musician. Thanks.

Thanks! Yes BB's playing is way harder than it sounds.
