It's already a sort of psuedo 2000D, the Magic pylon mounted MWS is actually a 2000D feature but is usable on the DCS 2000C. Combined with the ground mapping radar and countermeasures instead of brake chute you can fly 2000D type strike missions . Still no nukes or AS30 though yep :(
@@TR_P The 2000D has a dedicated air to ground radar, with terrain following functions for deep penetration at low altitude, high speed. Also, more flares, MWS, and a targeting pod. This could be excellent, because actually a 2000 player will 'eed someone else or a JTAC to illuminate a target. Oh , and the 2000D got Enhanced Paveway bombs, with laser or GPS guidance.

When planning a mission like that, you would think about SEAD might help. The difference from getting killed (Oh well, it was fun) to getting killed for real. Glad you had a lot of fun!
SAW is mostly older SAM systems like the SA-2/SA-3. The most dangerous SAMs are the Igla MANPADS (as shown in the video) because DCS' Igla is a bit too new of a variant for the time frame SAW is (late 80s).
Wish we had a f-4 to be loaded up as a weasel to help out with that final target. A nice joint strike like that would have been a lot of fun to see a video on.
Nice. I remember that TV show talking about weapons and that episode with the Durandal. Seeing the rockets go & hit the runway in your mission looked sick.
I think the Durandel has taken the crown for the coolest weapon in DCS. It's a tight race with the CBU-105 SFW, but I think I have to give it to Durandel. It's just so elegant.

By the way, you could have survived Aleppo by sending a cap fighter thundering down the runway at Mach 1.5. The man pads will fire on the cap fighter and have to reload. I love the mirage but the measly pair of 530s and lack of ARM or tpod/lasing ability means it sits in this niche where it has mostly modern sensors but basically F-4 tier AA/AG ability, so it is too advanced for a lot of the DCS cold war servers and held short by its weapons in modern PVP unless you make the merge, BVR simply not an option on paper.

That was some WW2 style bombing run that did cost you dearly. But nice vid anyhow.
