Those Bosch units are the same as the ones used in the 997 cup cars. So you can call it a Porsche motorsport pump rather than an Astra one 😉

I believe those Astra PAS pumps use a mineral oil which isn't necessarily compatable with most PAS racks. Not sure how happy they will be long term running on normal PAS fluid.
Spa is just the best
Astra steering pump is a big improvement to the 911.....I drive a complete Astra, imagine how good that is! I might be willing to swap it for your 911 however. 😀
Ah man so gutted for Craig, I was looking forward to the RX8 ripping on the track but let us all know what happened with the engine.......not that dodgy oil filter issue he had earlier on in the build??
Don’t think so think the motor was probably not great to start with , it was just a eBay job , going to build one now ,

Is the Astra pump "quiet" enough to put it inside a car? Might need something like that for a track car iam doing.
But have you ever thought about depowring the rack and run a electric steering column like people do with the corsa power steering ones?

How'd you get rid of that squealing noise on the Porsche? Did you have to redo the engine fan bearings?
Yeah new fan bearing and loosened the 6rib alternator belt a bit.
That's some bad luck for Craig, but I can't help but think the internet has oversold the K series. They're great engines when they're NA, and with forged internals etc they're great with boost, but the way people claim they can make 400hp etc on stock internals... Idk. Some might hold together, but lots are gonna get blown up. Shame, it would have been a really cool car, but now it's just getting an LS.

That k24 sucks for sure. An na ls might be lighter than the turbo k24.
V belts dimensions are a law unto themselves. Pice one good brand and stick with it. Gates 👌🏻👌🏻
