It was recorded in1981 in Germany and released by Shefali Nag`s " Chhanda Dhara "-label under the titel Pandit Nikhil Banerjee plays Two Romantic Ragas. i am the proud owner of that LP. Good vibrations from Germany

+Anustup Bhattacharyya the album was released early in 86 so he must have recorded it few months earlier. In any case it is still one of his last recordings.
+Anustup Bhattacharyya Ji as far as i know the album was released 6. 1. 1986 by Chhanda Dhara and was recorded in Germany. Also as far as i know it is his last album. If you know differently please shed some light on it.

it wasn't released because of some problems the recording company was facing, the then HMV

Not sure but I heard him play this at the Ali Akbar College of Music, in Nov 1985. They actually have footage of the concert.
