I really love this poem, thanks a lot for sharing it. Many people over the centuries have thought that Iron - Cold Iron - is master of them all, but only after a lifetime of bloodshed, in their final moments, do they realize that Iron out of Calvary is master of men all.

Most people in the comments don't seem to understand this is a Christian poem It represents how "iron cold iron is the master of them all" as the source of pagan morality is trumped by "iron out of calvary" which is the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ in the poem, the baron is the pagan people of Rome's empire, the cannoneer is Constantine the great, bringing them to the King, who is Jesus Christ and instead of rebuking them, Jesus offers them salvation and redemption

Beautiful poetry and all, but it is objectively nonsense. The baron gets forgiveness, but all the dead knights get to go fk themselves and rot in hell. Oh and all their toiling serfs don't even get a mention, to say nothing about all the animals that get slaughtered and eaten by lord and serf alike. The fact that the world is full of oppression and brutality is simply glossed over and taken for granted. This is what I find so violently sickening about Christianity: "It's all about memememememe how can I attain salvation, how can I save my own skin/soul? Oh isn't God the nicest dude ever, he forgave me even though I seriously fucked up, I still get to go to heaven yay! Thank you so much daddy! 🎉🎉🎉" Worse yet, this isn't even just about selfishness, it's about encouraging people to identify emotionally with their oppressors, to see themselves as rebellious sinners in need of forgiveness and as rulers entitled to obedient servants in stead of identifying themselves as the oppressed and demanding their own emancipation while also granting freedom to those they themselves are oppressing. Really the concept of divine forgiveness is also revolting if you think about it. My sins are mine alone to answer for, and nobody except those I harmed have any authority to forgive them or not.

The last line says "calvary", but you pronounced it like "cavalry". It seems that you fell victim to one of the classic blunders.
I'm always getting those mixed up, good catch

Too fast a reading, should've chosen a slower DS song tbh.
What I should have done was record it along with the song, nothing I tested it with really fit. Probably should have just skipped music altogether.
