Hi. Thanks for your content about VMware. It is helpful for beginners but not for power Users. It should be explained that the free license has limitations. 8 Cores per VM and etc. also some services are not available in free license, for example Veeam Backup and Replication cann't backup the Host if you have a free license. For test purposes it is probably OK but for productive environment it is not recommend. People should to have this very important Info's. Best Regards Danijel
Warninig When You tray generate licence key You meybe see that error: Unable to process your request. Please try again later. - I have this with my licence key VMware vSphere 8 free - on that page is olso a note like this: Known issue alert: License generation for VMware vSphere Hypervisor 8 (free edition) - When registering to download the vSphere Hypervisor 8 package you may get the following error for its license information: "Unable to process your request. Please try again later". VMware is aware of this issue and is working to get it resolved as soon as possible. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
How do I generate license key for my ESXI 8. I downloaded it but I am not seeing anywhere on the website to get the key just like how it did when I downloaded the version 7 and below.
Once you sign up for an account and log in you will get one.
For a video that was about how to license a product, you had exactly zero coverage of how to actually get the license...
It was easy to download for free up to 4 days ago. Luckily i managed to download it 6 days ago
There is no option for free license key. you said at 1:49 "you will be presented with key " . where is the key ?
Looks like there is a current issue being experienced with VMware. They are having trouble generating keys. Hoping they get it fixed soon

VMware vSphere Hypervisor (free edition) is no longer available
At this time, there is not an equivalent replacement product available.
I spend an hour looking around their website just to found out that theres no more free version.

A guide to use the fling driver driver and integrate it with vsphere 8 iso would be very helpful because as it stands the natively supported hardware list is extremely small

i have installed Esxi 8 on my HPE ML350 gen10 server. but after installing the network ports r not working. it has 4 Gig ports in it. in port 1 i have assigned static IP, my networking is ok. if i check HPE iLO control panel it says Network ports are unknown. Can anyone help??

I obtained a license key but I'm unable to download after registering. Received error "Unable to process your request. Please try again later." I searched the error and saw some people had luck clearing cookies and using different browsers. I've done all that and still no luck. This is a widely known problem, with many people posting on it. If VMware's website is this bad, I hesitate to use their products.

So...I built an ESXi 8 usb installer, and it boots and runs the installer....however...after 2 days of troubleshooting, I cannot get it to install to 2 different nvme drives. I can access the web gui and build the datastores, build VMs, etc, but after I reboot my mini PC it will not boot to any installation. If I copy the installer files to the nvme drive, it will run the installer upon boot and I am able to access the web gui again. It makes no sense. The installer never prompts me with the EULA or drive selection either, it just runs a full automation. I downloaded the iso from VMware too, so I know its unmodified. Any suggestions?
How come it says trial? What happens after the "trial"?
So I will permanently need two computers if I do this? I was trying to install a linux vm but I am working with a single PC with decent specs. Is there a way around having to have a 2nd system?
Sounds like you just need vmware workstation, not a hypervisor

Yes. This solution is often deployed in a virtualization server, whose sole job is server and run VMs.

Yep. Cloud has a cost that needs to be considered, so sometimes hosting vmware on premise may be the better option.VMware can also run on the cloud if need be.
Hi, do you know what format of HDD you need to format to? i tried on my Dell server, it went through the installation but couldn't detect the HDD? Thanks
If it's an older dell with a hardware SAS raid card, disable the raid and just do a passthrough on the drives. Unfortunately most hardware raid cards are no longer supported by default. I experienced a similar issue with Proxmox and Ubuntu. Good luck to you!

It appears VMware vSphere 8 no longer has a free version. Only a 60 day trial. How about a video on how to downgrade back to 7
Also just noticed that you have two videos this one that says you can get ESXi 8 for free, and another that's says the evaluation period is for 6 months only.

Issue still exists, hopefully they'll get it sorted within the next few months. They have great Architects and Devs, hopefully someone will solve the dilema soon. [update 13/11/22] Issue now resolved by vmware folks]
Hi Adrian, try different browsers perhaps. Had a few saying that keys were being generated again.
@@TechWithEmilio Hi It's sorted now! Just checked and I can see my license key, thanks god for that I can stick to the technology now. Glad they are sticking with the independent contractors and free spirits out there, it makes a difference.

How do you know or realize which server to buy that is compatible with VMware 8? I was told that it will not work on older hardware? How old do they mean?
