There will always some work to do on the boat, please keep us up-to-date on that. What I want to see now is: why did you aquire Jabá, what are your plans with it, and most important: what do Ben and MP do when NOT working on the boat, how is your live as a sailing and/or diving couple going to be?
ALSO Please re-attach the blade guard to the saw bench. (it's becoming a common theme amogst ytubers and I would regard it as an ESSENTIAL safety feature... rant over.)
You made big old square 📦 around water tanks if you make bases with a concave to shape all you need to do is saddle from bottom to deck with strapping the way you made it takes up way more space
nice work on the frame work one thing use a speaical shape wood to push the wood along the table saw you will keep your fingers that way like the freezer and MP does great work with the electrics well done both of you
A refrigerator and a freezer are really nice to have on a boat. Yes, you two do make a great team. 👍👍 Ben, please, please, please use some safety devices while using a table saw. You scared the begeebers out of me. Short story; Back when I was in shop class in my first year of high school (fall 1978 😭), there was someone I’ll call Charles. He was part of the tough crowd, and could always be found holding court out on the smoking patio at school, when not in class. He was in my shop classes that semester. On this particular day he was using a table saw. I will NEVER forget that day. Running across the shop, screaming, and a rag wrapped around his hand with blood everywhere. He was back in class the next week. 1 reattached finger, and 2 missing tips. He was a completely changed man. Those images are forever burned into my memory.
yep i have to say, i always wince at others using circular saws, especially when its really boring to watch and you tubers think its entertaining to speed that footage up, i have to skip it, safety dudes, its the law, do not skip anything, things bite and bite hard - i am usually very savvy at these things, but having told myself to check a set of steps before climbing, grabbed a box, used the steps, and then used them another three times, before they collapsed, i was only on the third step, as they collapsed the back side was against the wall, the front that i was standing on pushed my legs forward from under me and i landed on my back, i laid there in agony before getting myself out of the situation, i got to hospital and later was diagnosed with a fracture to my T12, yep a broken back and two years on much better, but have problems still, safety, if you think, don't skip it, DO IT
hey Ben, consider supporting your round diesel tanks the same way they do on heavy trucks. you could use flat stainless steel strips to make U-shaped bands to hang the tanks from the ceiling. Your wood supports would still help secure the tanks, but bands would stop pressure points onto those tanks.
Even though Yaba is out of the shipyard the work will always be your companion. You are at least doing the smaller finishing touches and they are quite rewarding. When you get your sails your life will be much more interesting and your scenery will change continuously. I wish you the best of times on Yaba. You have earned it. Best Regards, Your pal Al
Just a note from an old woodworker "Safety". I have put my thumb in a table saw, many stitches, and rehab. I agree use a push stick. You can't stop a running saw blade with your hand.

Enjoy the decompression from all your hard work. MP and Ben, have you plotted your dream course and if so, can you share just a little bit keep on keeping on and soak all of it up❤😊

Would like to see the set up and rigging of the sails. How many sails do you plan to carry? How will you manage them short handed? What is the light wind sail (s) plan? You get the idea. Cheers. Jim

I've followed you two from the time you bought the boat, it has been my recovery during my three year of sickness with my coloncancer and other misshaps related to the surgical procedures and treatment it come with. I finally got my gastric bypass and took x-rays last week and the head nurse said my pictures looks good, so I still has to wait for the "words" that says " yes or no!" WOOOHOOOOOOO! ITS SUNDAY! Hold up, Pause..... coffee is required for this! :D Tips for fishing, bait the water with food scraps..... wait for a bit then start fishing ^^ one of the million and one tips :D Also PLEASE use a pushing rod when using the table-saw! Amazing amount of room on the back deck and even more in the engine room. It’s quite a treat watching the mains powered tools working of the solar array. I’d like to see how you have finished off the cabins and the saloon next to the kitchen. How long before the sails go up?
I am Soo happy to see that the two (4) of you are finally enjoying the fruits of your labour. Kind of funning seeing what you both can now do to the boat than 3 yrs ago when you first started, now look at you both are pro's. Ben or MP, thank you for cleaning up the sawdust in the bilge, that stuff will plug your ballast pumps in no time flat.
Great to see you finally SPLASHED YABA!!! Haven't watched you, or anyone else in a while. Retirement and a move to a new country will distract anyone for a bit. Looking Good!!!
Fit a sheet of plywood on the inside of the diesel tank support struts. Put some strong polythene bags under the tank and fill them with expanding foam similar to your dinghy. The foam will expand to fit the tank exactly and transfer the weight to the hull. 100 gallons of diesel weighs 880 pounds ,so good support is essential. The full support will also stop the tank distorting under the weight Been a subscriber since day and i am really proud of the work you both have done plus all your crew! Yaba looks beautiful afloat, where she belongs.Alan here in the UK.
@@SailingYaba I wrote the comment as I was watching... and before you mentioned dropping anything.... it's perfection as long as you don't drop anything
It's great to see you able to relax a bit now. Still getting things done and enjoying your new home. Congratulations on the fridge and freezer you can now do things as needed. Keep well and safe. James.
Just a concern, when using the table saw. please position yourself as if a jackass just went full send thru the harbor. You ain't land bound anymore Matey and if a large wave hits you when you do not expect it your safety would be compromised, I learned that the hard way. And keep on inspiring me.
Ben caught a fish 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏🎆🎆🎇🎇🎆🎆🎇 Remove that from the job list and get back to working on Yabá. He only get's to catch the one fish EVER.🤣🤣 Great update 2x👍
One last thing as I have built 3 tour buses, same principles, you may want to consider installing a Macerator Pump for your Black Tank....it basically chops up all your sewage very fine and results in a lot less plumbing issues ie with blockages etc. If you use a macerator your outlet house is either 1.5" I believe meaning it coils up easier and takes a lot less room then them other big discharge hoses.. If you have the money you have the room to install a sewage treatment unit for Yaba, or one of those toilets that destroys the waste electrically, they have come along way....also if you can't afford a water maker make sure you carry at least 120 gallons of fresh water ie 2 x 60 gallon plastic tanks....and you may want to install a day tank for your petro....just some thoughts...just trying to help you out in some small way...much love from Canada!!!!
Hola amigos, When cleaning the hull, get 2 glazier suction cups. They stick onto to hull and give you something to hang onto. Get 12" stainless drywall knives. Google them. Add a 1 mtr handle. Now you can reach 2 meters from the surface. Makes the monthly task much easier

Ben - please make a simple push stick for the table saw. You need to keep all the fingers that you have.
For cleaning the hull in the water the sucking handles are very useful. They are cheap and you have more force while scrubbing.
Oh god- Ben please no crosscuts on a table saw! And a push stick is a VERY good thing. No hospital visits to reattach fingers. 😢
I'm amazed this guy still has all his fingers watching him misuse and ignore safety while using power saws.
ALSO Please re-attach the blade guard to the saw bench. (it's becoming a common theme amogst ytubers and I would regard it as an ESSENTIAL safety feature... rant over.)
These folks are talented enough that they could probably do the reattachment without going to the hospital.....
All I could see was his foot slipping and falling forward. Aaaahh 😳
