I watched this video and decided to go riding. hopped on my quad and quickly realized that the ground is completely frozen. Couldn’t even make it up my driveway😂😂
I love going for little rips like this, getting a little adrenaline dump. The rest of the day is much better. The color matched bumper on the truck is 👌
Your videos are always so fun to watch. The hard work you put into them with all the camera views etc takes time but that hard work pays off with a very nice video and stellar editing. Another fine video Pete!
Due to watching your videos I ended up getting a rossier exhaust for my 02 400ex, went with the black silencer, red bullet tip/ flag logo... love the silencer and sounds great, so thanks for the 400ex content man! Keep up the great work!
Everyone I know is getting into sxs’s. I still prefer riding quads over sxs. I don’t drive 3 hours to the mountains to just get behind the wheel of another car 😂 . I still believe in the spirit of riding quads
Unfortunately I didn't film an in depth install. The light is super bright and I planned on doing night rides at Little Sahara but my Raptor wasn't running the best so I haven't put it to the test. It's an expensive light bar but it seems you really get what you pay for and it's very bright while drawing a lower amperage. You can easily spend way less and get the job done I'm sure. It's a Rigid 10" light bar, model SR-Series Pro with the Spot/Drive beam pattern and the handlebar mount is a Lonestar 10" universal light bar bracket. I added both items to the bottom of my parts list in my description 👍
It's very efficient but also super tedious. I took me like 12 minutes just to leave the parking lot with the shots I staged and then packing it up and heading to the next spot lol. I was out for about 2 hours to film everything 🥶
Most counties outside of the Twin Cities Metro and suburbs allow ditch riding since it's pretty much all agricultural land. The southern half of the state has ditches close April 1st through August 1st for wildlife habitat. Up in the northern counties I'm pretty sure their ditches are open annually and most are part of designated routes. The majority of all our public trails are north of the cities so most of us have no where to ride in the south aside from Snake Creek which is in SE Minnesota. I've very rarely been contacted by property owners and normally it's due to sound. As long as we're moving along it's really no different than a group of motorcycles going by on the highway.
The YFZ is amazing on the track and in attack mode but the majority of the time I'm free riding at a more causal pace so the Raptor tends to be the more practical choice. Now that the suspension has been upgraded it's much more stable and I've gained more confidence on the quad
I’ve been looking at quads for a few years now and I still can’t decide if I should buy a raptor 700r or a brute force 750 but watching this I think I’m gonna go with the raptor 700R and awesome vid
Here’s a update, so I contacted my Yamaha dealer and it ended up they don’t sell sport quads😢, just 4X4 so I applied the the 2023 brute force 750 with eps and they will call me when they can and go from there. 😕
Thanks man! I've made every video on my channel except for a few music edit's Joe Goettl created and the Obor tire test video was edited by another editor 😊
Great content, as always! Can you share what mount you use to attach the GoPro to your helmet? Are you utilizing the media mod for your audio while riding or do you have the external purple panda microphone affixed to the inside of your helmet?
Thanks for watching! The first 5 minutes of this video shares my motovlog set up I've been running several seasons now. In that video I was using a hero7 but now I use the 11 with the media mod and purple panda mic along with the little adapter it comes with 👍 ruclips.net/video/kWbckb-7TQM/видео.html
As of now we're talking about traveling out to Oregon with our big ride group in the spring of 2025. I would definitely aim to do some ride out's/meet and greets 👍
Where do you ride at? I saw a video a while back that had you in one of the trail parks in Minnesota. I'm looking to move there in a few months and I'm looking for a few people to travel around and ride with!
I've made several videos at different trail systems in Minnesota. I've ridden Appleton OHV park the most. I've also ridden at Spider Lake, Paul Bunyon State Forest, General CC Andrews State Forest, Gilbert OHV, Nemadji State Forest, Chatfield, and Snake Creek. There's tons of riding places I still haven't seen. Our favorite for Sport ATV's has always been Spider Lake 👍
I generally run 5 in the rear and 6 in the front. year round. If it's rocky I may move up to 8-10 psi. If it's for sure smooth and soft then I'll run 4-5 as my lowest normally
@@PeteHager that's so sad 😭 I remember the video where you were shredding on the frozen river at that bridge where your pick up was parked.. hopefully it's getting better soon... Greez from no snow Germany lol
how many hours are on your raptor now? you have made me want to get one and I need to get a good idea with what to look for to buy used! hope someone could help
Unfortunately it had been sitting a lot the last few seasons and I was mainly riding it to run fresh gas through it. They're super fun quads but ever since I upgraded the suspension on my Raptor it's became the ultimate "do it all" machine for me. I really only preferred the YFZ when I was at tracks or looking to hit bigger jumps. I also realized it's too similar to my Raptor being a 4 stroke so I'd like to get a 2 stroke as my 2nd quad so I have more diversity in my experiences. Plus I'm a noob with 2 strokes so it would be fun to learn with you guys. I'm also hoping to have another Polaris on loan this summer and I didn't want the YFZ to sit another season and only be ridden 2 or 3 times. In case you didn't know, the Brewer's (Brewer Offroad) bought my 450 so I'll still see the quad from time to time!🤘😅
May I ask how you have the microphone and GoPro setup I understand the GoPro part but the mic part how does that all work Pete? Love the content dude you are the best man💯
Thanks for watching! The first 5 minutes of this video shares the set up I've been using for several seasons. I did recently upgrade to a Hero11 with the Media mod which eliminated the 3.5 mic adapter you have to run with the older gopros. ruclips.net/video/kWbckb-7TQM/видео.htmlsi=CREpcCCrudhbEzkO
@@PeteHager of course Pete I’m in northern Minnesota if you ever get up north lmk would be cool to meet ya and rip the raptors ! You are an awesome dude! I’ll watch that right now thank you Pete!!
@@PeteHager awesome thank you so so much Pete!! Keep the grind going man you are a great dude always love hearing how much fun you have on the raptor! Again if you come up north let me know I’d be down to ride!
Both quads are super fun. The YFZR is very focused and always ready for 100% whereas the Raptor is more casual yet has that toque based power plant at the flick of a switch. The YFZR outshines it on the track and in the air but since I primarily free ride the Raptor has proven to be a better fit for me the majority of the time. The investment in suspension has solidified it as the ultimate do it all machine in my opinion 👍
hey pete how u kept ur full system pipe looking that fresh? i have mine for almost 3 months and its getting rusted and stains all on it what should i do ? ? ?
Thanks man! I think I'll only miss my 450 when I'm somewhere that has a track or if everyone else is on 450's lol. I'm pretty glad I parted ways with it because the Raptor truly transforms with better suspension and I have a lot of fun riding it. Unfortunately the YFZ spent a lot of time sitting and I'd rather have a 2 stroke as a secondary machine so there's more diversity within my content

What are the laws for this kind of riding in mn? Do you ever have is with landowners/cops? I feel like it’s more chill there then in Wisconsin
I'd love to ride up there, you'll come across all the darens and Karen's here in South Georgia/Florida line
Yeah even in Wisconsin I’m running into Karen’s/getting cops called often. It’s annoying...😂
And it’s illegal to ride the ditches. You have to stay on the pavement on the Atv Routes.
