Enjoyed watching your film and congratulations on your run. I’ve done Manchester, Edinburgh and London Marathons with Brighton booked for April. NYC is most certainly on my bucket list.
Sensational effort 👏🏻 Love the extra information and comparison to other events such as NYM👍🏻 Take care in your future travels & best wishes for the NYM “just taking part means you’re a winner” 🥇 Best regards Nigel WMH Team - Australia 🇦🇺
@@samandnick yes they did. they took ~50 metres elevation gain out and removed the HM so the marathon could start earlier incase of unexpected hot days like 2023
Awesome job. Run baby run. So proud to see someone who is following their dreams.Great video. Thanks for sharing for those of us who can never travel due to medical and mobility issues. Love seeing Sydney through your eyes. Always dreamed of going there. Thank you! 👍
I didn’t expect much when I first tried Tongkat Ali, but it’s definitely added something to my runs. I take around 600mg on race day or when I’m pushing past 20km-along with my usual mix of electrolytes, energy gels, and sometimes caffeine or creatine-and it really seems to help with endurance and recovery. I’ve been getting less of that heavy-leg feeling, especially on the longer runs, and my recovery time feels quicker too. On regular training days, I keep it to about 200-400mg, which fits nicely with my usual vitamins and minerals. Honestly, if you’re a runner looking to keep your energy steady, it might be worth a shot. Just take it with your usual supplements; it’s a smooth addition to the routine! ALL THE BEST EVERYONE AND DON'T GIVE UP TO ALL YOU NEW RUNNERS!
Interesting it used to have all the hills in the back half they have actually tamed it down I feel but I haven't run the newer course I'll have to run it next year . But your right it's a beautifully brutal course.
Last year was brutally hot. A week later it was cool and damp and perfect running conditions. The course has changed a little bit. You don't go around Darling Harbour anymore. Which I'm sad about cos I love it down there. But parts of that weren't ideal for the elite runner. Elevation isn't too bad. Not all majors have to be easy. The heat was the killer. The start has also been moved to the much roomier North Sydney Park which was my biggest piece of feedback. Should be better in 2024. Come back when we're a major!
Yeah it was SOOO hot!! Sad about darling harbor and the start! Those were some of my favorite places to run and the start felt incredible because you immediately go on the bridge and it sets the mood for the whole race! But i totally understand!
My first marathon was yesterday, Sydney marathon 2024, I did no training, just parkrun semi regularly and i found it easy. But thats because i eat healthy high carb low fat vegan and ran it mostly zone 2. Didn't find the hills brutal and no blisters or any feet problems. But thats because i was wearing fibram fivefinger toe shoes with 3mm rubber soles instead of 2 inches of foam and a carbon plate.
@@samandnick I did it last year and then again this year. Last year was absolutely brutal! 37 degrees Celsius or 98 Fahrenheit. This year was a beautiful 17 degrees Celsius or 63 Fahrenheit.
Have you ran a marathon before? Which one?

Can’t believe you can run a marathon, AND film it, AND speak during it. Beast mode activated.

Good on ya! Well done you!!! 👏
An amazing achievement 🎉

I did the marathon yesterday and have to say this course is brutal. My feet have never been numb from steep inclines before.
Congrats!!! Did they change the course?
Not sure if they did from previous years this was my first time…it’s my hardest course to date 😭

Epic, gutsy performance. You are my hero!
😍 Thank you so much!!
So good! Just over 2 weeks to go until 2024!
Hopefully the course is a bit easier! I read that they changed it. And also it was SO hot last year and the smoke was really bad...

@@samandnick all the best to you! Never skip leg day :p
This was my first marathon too! What an absolute brutal day. Looking forward to running it again this year!
I can't believe that was your first marathon!!! Good for you! If this was my first, I probably would never do another one 😂😂

The back half was SO brutal but I heard they changed it this year which they needed to!
Just watching this video makes me want to get back into running myself.
You should! 😍❤️🙌 I am glad I could inspire you ❤️❤️❤️
I really want to participate this year but still hesitate lol. Thanks for the video.
You should totally do it! I read recently that they changed the course a bit and the start time is a lot earlier since it was so hot last year!
So well done.
Thank you so much!! ❤❤
great job!!!! feel tired for you 😅
😂 I definitely needed many beers after!
Congratulations on your finish…did you follow a training plan??
Yes I did but I am not sure anything could have prepared me for this race! This was my 4th marathon in 13 months so I was on a continuous program 😂😂

@@samandnick You still go over the bridge. Just from a better park with more space for toilets and coffee vans

Congrats that is amazing! I rad they changed the course this year because last year had too many hills and switchbacks. Glad you enjoyed it!
