    I was wondering if you have done any videos that just show all the types of strokes you use, without it being on a rose as such. As a baby to painting flowers, it's a bit over whelming when you can't get them all right.

    I love the way u teach Acrylics with so much passion...I want to ask u whether OIL painting is superior to Acrylics and whether Acrylics is as long lasting as an oil painting and also can u make Acrylics shine as much as an oil ? Avrylics are definitely easier to do and dry quicker than oil...I am a doctor and hv never learnt painting as such but I do all mediums even water colour....which medium should I try to excel in and which is longest lasting..I am from India and am 80 years old..please advise

    • @JansenArtEducation
      @JansenArtEducation  3 года назад

      I have been a paint chemist for both. Modern acrylics are better. They stay flexible longer that oil. They also do not yellow. New acrylic binders adhere longer so you never have a problem with cracking. This is why you see most exterior products today as acrylics and not oils. Newer technology. Older acrylics were not as good. Newer ones though are amazing.

    P.S. I think this same method can work for most flowers--identify the most crucial parts of the flower: the throat, immediate surrounding center shape, and outer petal shape, etc. This works for, say, daffodils and, in a simplified way, for cosmos or daisies with a distinct center surrounded by out petals. It really is a way to see. Thanks.

    • @JansenArtEducation
      @JansenArtEducation  3 года назад +1

      That is not normal. Sounds like a bad brand of acrylics or make sure your not using a gouache. If your acrylics are high quality they don't need to be varnished. I do however for better protection.

      All it takes is a little practice. I believe in practice. If you can paint it the first time then have you really learned? All good things take practice.
