San Diego & Tijuana are borderland cities on the US Mexico border and this has resulted in a unique mixing of cultures which is unlike anywhere else in Mexico or the USA. After my time exploring both I realised how much unity there is between both cities and though the media always paints a negative picture there are a lot of beautiful things about living on the border too!
I really love how in depth you go into our history, our Mexican American culture and how you interact with locals. Your deep analysis, your curiosity and passion for travel is something to truly admire. As a Mexican American from New Jersey I appreciate this video a lot 🇲🇽🇺🇸 Thank you ❤️

What a great video Malini! I am so impressed with your Español! Having first experienced when I was kid this contrast between these two worlds that are basically just separated by a simple physical barrier remains so unfathomable to me. It made a huge impact on my life and on how I view and understand our present and modern world. I would like to suggest the rest of Baja California (Rosarito, Ensenada) and South Orange County, CA for future content.
Question for you Malini? Why are we not able to see you on one of the big News Networks? They have no idea what a vibrant Sophisticated talent they are missing out on!! Your content and work is so impressive! Always look foward to the next episode! Best to you
That Duality of seeing San Diego and Tijuana facing each other at night is immaculate 🌃🌆 Next I'd explore on Top of the PLATEAUS Behind downtown San Diego. Thats where all the neighborhoods, restaurants, and 'Density' are, Like North Park, City Heights, Kearny Mesa etc. Breweries, and Breakfast diners are pretty Great in those neighborhoods too, and coffee is getting Huge in San Diego. Sometimes you'll catch glimpses of Tijuana from the Plateaus, and Nothing beats that duality of Being Elevated and seeing both cities facing each other...
It's eye-opening to see the complexities of the border region, from the different living conditions to the everyday challenges people face! 🙂Thank you for shedding light on this topic! ❤

I can't believe you visited my hometown Tijuana 😄it's not the most beautiful city in the world, and a lot of ugly things happen in random corners, but the food is amazing, people are warm and welcome everyone, we have crazy gorgeous sunsets, and it's a multicultural, interesting city with one of the most cross-borders in the world. Definitely, it is worth visiting as I'm pretty sure you haven't seen any city like Tijuana, a unique mix of things.
it is a nice video. I can imagine what people fell looking at that border wall dividing the countries. for some of them, a better life but it can cost their life during the crossing

SD is my favorite city in CA. Also, my favorite place for Mexican food. Spending Dia de los Muertos in Mexico last year was the best and I can’t wait to do that again. Your border interviews at the beach were super insightful. I know you may feel American English may be the accented one, but hearing yours and then the lack of one in your perfect Spanish is a complete head trip! Thanks for another great video!

I was there with my wife this past Wednesday. We have been there many times from our Orange County home. About 90 minutes away. We go for dental work. Tijuana has been officially hit hard by inflation. It is no longer cheap there. I doubt we will return.
@ no it’s higher and the medico border pass to the US went up 250 percent, from last visit in 2022. I’m done with TJ, too old and it is basically a full day of travel bullshit from OC, where we live.
Hello! Have you checked out my memberships, I do personal Q&A videos and will be sharing all details of equipment and filming set up in the next few weeks. Thanks!
First time seeing the channel, pretty good, unfortunately If you would have gone to Imperial Beach which is closer to Tijuana you would have not seen any surfers in the water due to contamination from the Tijuana River valley, it’s been an on going issue. Also the state Capitol of Baja California is Mexicali, I think you would find it an interesting city due to it’s high population of Chinese Mexicans. These were Chinese that was kicked out of the US after completing the railroads. Also Rutas de Vino is actually closer to Ensenada which is another city in the Valle de Guadalupe.
If all of y'all are from both here and there, you have to ALL clean up the sewage on our San Diego beaches and PAY MORE TAXES for the support of those who are from neither there nor here but EVERYWHERE.
Thanks for the insights into this area … as ever so many positives and also some poignant and seemingly out of date negatives such as the crazy border situation… I’m pretty uniformed but it looks a tough deal and somewhat unnecessary given where there is a will to cross somewhere there will always be a way … thanks again 🙏🏻
