I received the notification just after finishing writing my daily morning pages where I made a promise to my self to stop over thinking and start the project I wanted to start a month ago. And because of over thinking I kept procrastinating and telling myself I'm still not good enough and I need more time to work on the project, despite knowing that I only get better when I do a certain thing multiple times, but I was afraid of starting anyhow. Thank you so much for this video, it gave me a huge push and made me realize that I won't gain anything by over thinking. Thanks again ☺️☺️
The best way to stop overthinking is understanding that no amount of overthinking will lead to positive results. In fact, all it will do is cause more stress and anxiety for yourself, more likely leading to the problem only getting worse.
Future wife?! We're going to have a "how to have a productive bachelor party/wedding" series soon 😁🎉So true that social threats get us all wound up. Viewing things as an experiment takes off a lot of pressure because you're focusing more on the process than the end result. I like that mental board of advisors thinking. Great video, Ali 🙂
Awesome! Having been suffered from anxiety I know the root cause of it is overthinking to get to the exact outcome when in turn we actually don't have control over our results.
Future wife!!!!! I’ve been celebrating all your milestones through the years and look up to you as an elder brother, and this makes me so happy from the core of my heart ahhhh a massive massive congratulations to you and her Ali! ❤️

I feel very inspired by you, I have been struggling with things inside for a long time, this year I separated from the person I loved the most in my life and I am trying to change
Hi just want to say that many times ruminating is emotionally driven… there can be an uncomfortable feeling and our mind jumps in to try to either make us feel better or dwell on that feeling and feed more into it. So shifting from our mind and into our body sensations can actually be really helpful and grounding and even illuminating. When we ignore our feelings our body often starts shouting at us to get our attention, so just listening to what our body is saying, acknowledging the feelings and fears, can be very clarifying and soothing.
Hello Ali! I've missed your chill videos that start like this... You walking in, with a mug, seeing the plants and such. Thank you Ali for this... This truly feels like hanging out with a pal in the living room chatting it up about personal experiences a.k.a. Overthinking
"whenever I'm scared of doing something it's probably the right thing".....that words make me think maybe everything that me scare to start doing is right thing
Usually I watch subscribed channels whenever I am free. But now I have made it a habit to watch yours daily. Sharing with friends and family as well. Thanks. You are awesome bro
The coincidence is unreal. Was listening to your "Not Overthinking" podcast, and had some "how not to overthink" vids recommended to me. Decided to give one a watch, went down a rabbit hole and here we are haha. Full circle
I was consultant plastic surgeon in Pakistan and currently working as CF in NHS. When I was your age I used to teach and guide my younger co-workers, now I see your video for guidance for me.
I'm making some changes recently and taking some (what I perceive to be) risks. I've never been happy about overthinking and paralyzing myself out of doing something, it's always made me feel worse. There hasn't been one situation I can think of where I've backed out of something because of fear or overthinking and been like "Man, I'm so much better off!". This was an incredibly helpful video. Thinking in terms of experiments and positive EV kind of blows my mind a bit. I've also recently heard from others how fear of something generally means that's the thing you want to be paying attention to, not running from. Awesome video, thank you.
started to build my channel and indeed i notice my own overthinking on not only subjects but what to include and not to include in a video. did just release video that did better then expected. happy with that.
I am a wellness coach and have all of my clients work in weekly experiments instead of goals. It helps a lot in terms of letting go of feelings of shame or "failure." You can't fail an experiment!
Ali my take on overthinking is whatever is going on or is going to happen is just for a short period of time and it ease my stress and helps me stop overthinking
1. Treat new experiences like an experiment 2. What is the worst that can happen if x doesn’t work out vs the best that can happen if it does 3. Over thinking is okay as long as it’s on top of consistent action (back 2 basics)
I see that Ali is trying to move around in the video which makes it more interesting! Ali had tweeted a typeform for suggestions and I had suggested that moving around and changing the background will make the audience wanting to watch the video... Happy to see a change!
I think overthinking is such a big problem and a lot of people often don't know they're doing it or have an issue. I find that meditation helps, also writing things down, but also just having awareness and asking yourself 'why do I keep going back to this? And what do I need to do to stop this thought cycling through my head?'
Fantastic advice! I just applied it 2 mins after I listened to the video. I was so apprehensive about a job role that I might be considered for. It was completely out of my comfort zone and experience. But then I thought it could be a great Experiment! Suddenly my anxiety got replaced by curiosity!
Thinking of decision making as a sort of EV really helps to put things into the perspective of possibilities of positives rather than the negatives. That actually helped me a lot today.
Three things: 1) I really needed this 2) Production quality is top notch, keeps getting better wow 3) Future wife?! Sheesh I’ve been with this channel a long time
Your tips are always motivating and inspiring but the sad part is that I know that I can watch all these videos but I will still overthink & procrastinate😭😭💯

I love this so much ❤️ ive always overthinked about contributing in class and tis has made my grades be average but now im not afraid, im smart anyways
Ali, you always make the perfect videos when I need them most. I've been dealing with bad anxiety after closing new deals that put me in the best monthly financials I've ever had. However, I do client-related work so everything can go away instantly if I'm not performing well enough. It's really frustrating, like I feel incapable of relaxing and needing to work 24/7 to help me feel comfortable I'll wake up with a good monthly income still.

Thank you !
