I keep telling people this! The s5ii cant be beat for the price. Love mine and found your shots inspiring. The anamorphic makes me wish i had more video to shoot so i could justify buyinf one. Looks gorgeous.

I really like your content. Please keep going. I’m a Sony guy, but it’s only because Panasonic didn’t get phased detect auto focus into the GH6. I waited forever, but gave up and picked up an A7iv but I have to admit, there is still something I really like about the Lumix. I still kind of want one.

After 19 years with using 4/3 and m4/3 I want to try full frame. Now I’m almost exclusively a 35mm user. So when I saw the Nikon ZF it was love and almost bought it right away. But as I researched they didn’t really have a quality compact 35mm lens. But even though lumix camera is boring looking as hell they have a fantastic sigma 35mm f2 lens that looks great is compact and very sharp. The Nikon FZ calls my heart but the lumix really has what I want. The lumix camera has all these video features I would never use ever. It’s too bad lumix didn’t have a smaller camera like this with no video options in it.
I actually recently switched to the Sony A7CII from the Lumix S5II. Really liked the Lumix but the Sony fits my needs better and maybe it will fit yours better as well? I made a review about the A7CII so feel free to check out the vid!

Got it camera couple of months absolutely love it, the colors comes out straight out of the camera is beautiful , obviously it’s not perfect there are somethings i like them to change like changing the AF interface and adding some more subject detection but over all i can’t find any other camera at this price point that can compete with it in my opinion,
Totally agree, this camera's a beast! Every camera has it's own flaws, but you just can't hate this camera. The price - value ratio is insane on this one!

@@KaanSenel Correct, maar wel makkelijk Correct its helps preventing low battery in the total weight the batt brip das not make extra bulky and size only 3 cm give more steady handling and extra shutter button for portret shooting. Personal, the weight is my most CON of S5ii, its big like you mention Also i use the Lumix LX15 and that still my first choice..... for fast easy street photo.

I'm still in a dilemma now whether to go for fx30 or s5ii. Currently using Panasonic g85 and its a beast when i shoot wedding videos especially when I shoot solo. the Panasonic stabilization is a must for me however i kinda prefer sony color looks and variety of their third party lenses but just cant with Sony's amateur stabilization, i dont want the Hussle to use catalyst browse software for each 100 clips. I have never used a vlog pp before on Panasonic because g85 has none of the log profiles not sure if it is similar to sony S log so I can use a variety of luts
You can't go wrong with any modern camera these days. They all have their pros and cons and you're the only one who can make the decision on which factors are more important for you. I vouch for this camera, even coming from the Sony A7s3, so I think that says enough. Also colour looks are pretty subjective, you can basically get any kind of grade on any kind of camera you'd like so... I feel like V-log delivers more natural and organic colours compared to the more blue-ish tones from Sony

Same dilema, the crop and moiré of the s5II is one of the things that make me doubt about this camera.
@@PPimenta Yeah. 4k60 no crop on fx30 is a good advantage. But the crop sensor is kinda bad with noise on lowlight when you use a Log profile. I think full frame is a major plus when you use log profiles though. But that 4k60 crop on s5ii, a7iv kinda made me think twice

I sold my a7s3 got one of these with a sigma and extra money saved.
I kept my old a7r3 that i got when released and all my sony lenses. I dont see the point of getting anything new from sony from this point on, especially how they neglect adding functionality to their top cameras.

I am a hybrid shooter. Would AF be good for photography like sports or wildlife? What are the video advantages of S5ii over Sony like A7 IV?
Honestly, AF improved a lot, but I switched back to Sony. Sony's AF is definitely better

as a video camera it is quite remarkable. but i really didnt enjoy it as a photohgraphy camera because of some points:
the first and most annoying thing is this "pulsing" everytime the image darken or brighten up for the AF. Something no other camera i own or used does. it is just irritating and confusing. Whats your experience on this topic?
2. the camera is quite heavy in comparision to any other hybrid camera with similiar specs like the a7 iv or the canons. So I just dont want to throw it into my bag that easily. its always a compromise. And furthermore the battery life sucks. It is huge but just lasts really not that long. the missing percentage display makes it pretty hard to work precisly wirh,
3. I shoot quite some photos with this camera and while the AF has improved significantly it still is hunting sometimes in actually prettty decent contition and often it focuses on glasses instead of the eyes with people who wears glasses. the tracker tells me its sharp altough at home on the big screen you can see it is now focused on the eye.
There are some minor more points but i dont want to stretch this post to long.
i really would love to like this camera but for me its not the best hybrid camera though it is fantastic video camera! ^^
I agree with the points you mentioned. There are still some improvements to be made for this camera for sure! But I believe they're working hard to fix these points. Sony is still the king of AF, but I really don't like how they didn't give me the features I wanted and needed on my A7S3 that the FX3 got.
The camera's quite big and heavy indeed, but I don't mind that for my 'main workhorse camera' because you're usually going to put a pretty big lens on it anyway, so I prefer the balance you get like this compared to putting a heavy lens on a small camera body like the A7C for example.
Every camera has it's pros and cons and while this one isn't perfect, I still think the price to value ratio is hard if not impossible to beat.
Personally I enjoy photographing on smaller camera bodies myself lately like the Fuji X100V or a small point and shoot digicam!
@@KaanSenel yeah I think that's the solution for me too. Right now I shoot with a sony6700 due to its size. It's so much more enjoyable than the lumix just because of the size ^^ I think that's the way. 2 camera for 2 tasks 😋

Yes it does, but I do shoot everything in 6k 25p and 50p I shoot in 4k. I would highly recommend you to do so as well because the image looks simply beautiful! Thanks for watching!
Don’t forget Panasonic had a killer cinema camera back when only Canon had one… When the bring that camera back forget about it!
Yeah, the thing is, I never considered Panasonic in the past, after using the S5II, only then I found out about the GH6 and and S1H etc. Love the brand!

I wish Viltrox and Tamron could join the L-mount Alliance. Panasonic system is just too expensive in my country atm. I can get almost two tamrons 17-28 sony brand new for the same price as one sigma 16-28 l mount :(
And a body price of the x version is just 600$ cheaper than a brand new A7S III (last year it was even cheaper than s5iix now lol).
I really like Panasonic cameras and if I was born in a different country, I would go for Panasonic all the way, however, right now there is no other option for me but Sony.

True! I ended up copping a sigma 28-70mm F2.8 for $800 over the LUMIX S 28-70mm F2.8 at $1600 😒 for that price I got the 28-70mm, a LUMIX S 50mm, & a couple of EF lenses with the adapter lol. Panasonic needs to expand its 3rd party alliance asap! They have some of the best systems including the S5 family but man, they have a small lense selection that’s too expensive. It’s almost as bad as those master lenses that canon makes. Part of the reason I switched was to try and get cheaper lenses but I didn’t do enough research lol. I had a canon R6 with almost every Rf lens that I ended up selling to switch my system to LUMIX..
Sony is the only one that is ahead with its alliance. You can get Sony lenses for almost nothing compared to canon and Panasonic.

Why... I came from an A7S3 and didn't need the 120 fps. Other than that, I don't feel like the A7S3 has any better features compared to the S5II. 4k60 uncropped would be nice but I shoot most of my vids in 6k25p open gate anyway so I don't mind.
@@KaanSenel basically no rolling shutter,better lens selection, arguably better feel and built quality, 4k120, 4K no crop, incomparable autofocus, better stabilization with native lenses ( no wobble ), better camera app support, cf express, better on board mic integration (Sony ecosystem mics)… just so name a few!
