  • Hi Guys,
    Today is the first day of our Junk Journal Start to Finish Series. I will be showing you how I make a cover using chipboard and covering the spine with fabric.
    I hope this really helps you to see how easy and possible it is to make your own junk journal from scratch. It is a lot of fun and very satisfying to say that “I” made this book all by myself. Lol
    I hope you give this a try and that you continue to tune in to view this series which I will be posting every Friday.
    Thanks so much for watching.
    Have a great weekend,
    Maggie

    When I use Mod Poch, I just give the covers a quick iron after it's dry. The heat reactivate the glue and smooth every thing out . Just place baking paper over in order not to damage your cover. Mod Poch is more economical than say, fambric glue.

    How are you going to do the rest of the cover? Seems like the inside of the spine was done wrong Can't figure how you will go from here.

    • @SunsetCrafts
      @SunsetCrafts  5 месяцев назад +2

      I’m going to cover it with cardstock. Not sure why you think I did it wrong? I mentioned I am NOT an expert on making junk journals, but the ones I have made always seem to turn out ok at the end.

  • @margaretstrout1515
    @margaretstrout1515 5 месяцев назад +3

    If you used the whole book with the papers taken out, and don’t cut the spine off, it’s how I’ve been using them for years, then there is no fiddling around, just cover the whole thing.

    • @SunsetCrafts
      @SunsetCrafts  5 месяцев назад +1

      Hi Margaret, I understand what you’re saying and if the spine is the width I want then I would definitely keep it all as is.

    I got lost. Why did you cut the book apart, then use chip board to make the cover?

    • @SunsetCrafts
      @SunsetCrafts  5 месяцев назад

      I was just trying to show options on how to use make a cover. It was the wrong size for what I wanted to make, that’s why I cut my cover out of the chipboard.

    You're going to cut yourself the way you're using the rotary cutter!!! Please investigate the correct way to use, very sharp. I use all the time for quilting, always close when not using also.

  • @conniekeen7732
    @conniekeen7732 5 месяцев назад

    PLEASE, learn how to use your rotary cutter. NEVER place your fingers/hand down near the blade; USE the handle.

    • @SunsetCrafts
      @SunsetCrafts  5 месяцев назад +1

      I appreciate your concern Connie. But I assure you, I am fine. I’ve used my rotary cutter for used and (knocking on wood) have never injured myself. I apologize if I made you nervous.
