I was going to mention RedBull and you went and mentioned it. But there’s also Ajax that started way before City and RedBull having youth center all over the world
With Ajax is a but different. Red Bull has different clubs around many countries, Ajax doesn't have a club at the first division of another european league, of a north american, two south american clubs, and a feeder club in it's own country too, while trying to create more feeders and main clubs. In Red Bull's case it's more than just youth center. In Ajax case with Ajax Cape Town or others it doesn't really aim to make a system like RBs does, you don't see players and managers being thrown around those places like with the usual "promotion" route of RB Brasil > RB Bragantino > Liefering > RB Salzburg > RB Leipzig. And I say promotion that's really what it is. Red Bull has a corporate model, it's a factory, whereas Ajax is closer to the Nordic models of farming for young talents in the developing countries.

Athletic Interest × Manchester City💙
One of the best, if not THE BEST, content channel
Step by Step. Manchester City football club were one of the biggest and most successful English football clubs. Until early 80's. The specific period economical issues begun and success was a past term. Even after the Purchase of Players such Steve Daley , Steve MacKenzie, Trevor Fransis with more than 3 million pennies (huge amount at that time) and even with the return of the legendary Dennis Tueart City would still fail to win possible fa cup and league (injuries occurred too) and they even got relegated after 20 years. Then many young lads were produced. Such us David White and...Ryan Giggs. Yes. You heard it right.( Of course he was developed by united) But the best City would do is getting promoted and even finishing 5th with no silverware too. Then big singings happened during the 90's. Niall Quinn , Georgi Kinkladze ,Paul Dickov.. And City were happy ...to survive. But why? It's simple. Debt. The visionary but lacture in cash Peter Swales (R.I.P) couldn't do many for the club. Then a legend Fransis Lee would lead the club. And unfortunately reaching the lowest ever point getting the club relegated in 2nd Division (today's sky bet league one/ he stayed close to the club when City were promoted to the first division - todays Championship). City got promoted back to the Premier League with two successive promotions under the guidance of two club legends Joe Royle and Willie Donachie. Then got relegated again. For the last time. Then Kevin Keegan - Liverpool and HSV legend - arrived. He took the club and from the second tier he led City to Europe after 24 years. At that time City said goodbye to Maine Road (old Wembley of North) and moved to Eastlands and City of Manchester Stadium ( today's Etihad stadium) which had almost double the capacity of Maine Road. All of those with David Bernstein as chairman(by the way the movement to the new Stadium was arranged by Fransis Lee too). Then City begun to earn economic stability and although failing to achieve a quick return to Europe they were of the richest clubs in the world but still not in the top 10. Then the first takeover took place. From John Wardle to Thaksin Shinawatra. City achieved a league double over Man United and first win at old Trafford in 34 years. Still City only secured a healthy 9th place , which secured 2nd Uefa cup qualification in 5 years. However a severe loss to Middlesbrough (8-1, yes this was after oil money but not arab money.. you feel me XD?) and other problems led Shinawatra to leave the club. However someone with vision had to purchase the club. Someone to stop the 32 year absence of a major trophy. And there was the Abu Dhabi group. And although finishing 10th in the First season and reaching Uefa Cup quarter Finals City would finish at least top 5 in the next 12 seasons. Legends such us David Silva, Pablo Zabaleta ,Yaya Toure ,and Sergio Aguero would make proud old school fellas such us Bell(R.I.P) ,Lee, Summerbee, Goater, Kinkladze Dickov and many more (previously mentioned too) of how City changes but for the better. And all these under the guidance of Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan and one of the most innovative chairmen in English and world football Khaldoon Khalifa Al Mubarak.

I hated Man City when I was younger, called them "money team" and various degrading names back then.
but as I grow older and wiser, I started to realize that most sports worth watching by the public are built on heavy financial investments.
UFC, NBA, Boxing, Rugby and football... all these athletes need the financial motivation so they can focus on their training, athletes need to pay the bills and live a decently materialistic life too.
the problem is not spending the big money, the problem is if the money is spent in the right direction to enhance the sport, and Man City has spent the money correctly in the last 5-7 years.
Yeah but was money always the number 1 priority in sports? No
@@SportsFan-vq9kk How do you determine that? In proffesionel sport I would argue there's always investors wich primary reason to invest is in hope they'll make more money. When was pro football just for the fun of it?
Kompany & Zabaleta signed before the Abu Dhabi takeover, 22nd August and 31st August 2008, but still an excellent video, it is so true that on field success is not guaranteed by having money, it needs to be smartly spend and invested in the right characters and assets

Kompany and Zabaleta were signed pre-Mansour era. Aside from that, top video 👍
Just right before. It was clear at that moment that the Sheikh money is coming! Kompany played Champions League with HSV...
@@yannick245 No it wasn't clear at all, atleast not for Kompany. He was signed on the 22nd of August, while Thaksin was still owner(assets frozen though). Zabaleta was signed on the 31st of August when the deal was being done, so he may have had a better idea but he wasn't a highly sought after player. Neither was Kompany either, neither player was bought for a high fee or placed on high wages, if a big club was truly interested in either of them that would not have been the case.
Kompany playing in the CL is overstated because Kompany only signed for HSV in 2006. They qualified for the CL without him and they came bottom of the group. They lost all but 1 game, conceding 15 goals(10 more than 3rd place in that group). It was a bad showing for HSV, especially the defence, they ended up playing City in the UEFA cup the next season(presumably where City took an interest) and Kompany's market Value actually went down while at HSV(see for yourself on transfermrkt). City paid less for Kompany in 2008(7.65m pounds) than HSV did in 2006(9.45m pounds) he cost less than Zabaleta did(7.83m).
The takeover deal happened quickly by all accounts. Kompany literally said “There was no information,” about the takeover when asked if he knew before he signed and I don't think Zaba signed because of any takeover either. They really were just good signings, that rose to the challenge when the more expensive players started coming in. Micha Richards came from the academy and Joe Hart came from Shrewsbury two years earlier and they did the same to different degrees, it's what can happen with increased competition.

Newcastle Utd have had the time to dissect the Man City model...they will replicate it without making the same mistakes City did.
Im not a Toon fan...but they will be the biggest rivals for City in 3 years...and by then Pep may have gone.
Underrated channel, I live watching your vids🙏🏿🔥💙

I love how Man City does their job. They spend their money that is not radiant not only for the money they get from their brand, but also for glory in the field. Money doesn't come without titles and titles don't come without great tactics, And great tactics don't come without great coaches and players, and great players and coaches don't come without money. They show their seriousness to please their fans who were originally just Noel Gallagher while looking for new fans abroad as a global brand. Unlike other clubs who will mostly spend money on short glories, Man City want to maintain their strength for a long time and this is shown by not only buying players who are good at that time, but also young players who have potential in the future.
Yeah cuz they have the money to do so. The problem is too the longer it goes on the less likely anyone will be able to stop them like bayern, psg, juve, real and barca.
You have just described every single big club ever.... have you started watching football yesterday? Because that is literally what Boca Juniors, River Plate, Corinthians, Bayern Munchen, Borussia Dortmund, Juventus, Roma, even Sevilla, Benfica, Rangers, Celtic, boy do I need to go on? That's not unique to Man City at all. They are doing what every other club with ambition is doing.... except they have an absurdly richer owner than any other ambitious or not club, so they couldn't fail at their project even if they slept on the pitch.
