As a middle-aged guy who grew up on Led Zep, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, and King Crimson, I'd pretty well gotten bored with a lot of the "rock" of the last two decades. I discovered NIN only last year with Year Zero. Loved it. Freakin' heavy stuff, innovative, definitely their own sound, and well worth a little more hearing damage. ... I'll see them in West Palm Beach on May 8. Definitely looking forward to it.
If you're a KC fan then I'm not surprised you got into NIN. To date Fripp and Co put on the best show I've seen live, and in spite of being a "rock" show it was one of the heaviest shows I've been too thanks to the three drummers.
I too arrived late on NIN scene. Never really got into the Terrible Lie era of them. With Teeth was my gateway drug then Year Zero and I've since become a huge fan. Saw the Year Zero tour in Kelowna BC. One of the best nights of my life.
That drums! The rhythm at the beginning works exactly like a spell. It's almost imposible to stop listening the song after hearing it.. So clean and strong.
I was at this particular gig and it was easily one of the best NIN gigs I had been to. This lineup worked the best. Trent, Ilan, JMJ & Robin and of course Rob on the camera.
+Sebastián Santacruz In my opinion he delivered the best NIN bass sound live. Pino was great, but he was too clean for my taste, JMJ was perfect for all the heavy stuff, that tone is fucking legendary!
Yeah, Pino was fucking amazing for the "Hesitation Marks" sounds, but JMJ was born to play Burn, or I`m afraid of Americans, or any other song from the 2007-2008-2009 era...
Real talk tho, that gig went OFF (pun not intended). Especially with the power cutting out on the beat. The disappointment was palpable when they resumed with 1,000,000 but the second attempt of Burn was SO GOOD.
This rips SO much harder than the studio version... Trent, thanks for playing every one of the hits live on this tour. Jane's should have opened for you, no question.
+Nicole Ancell I agree. He is one of my favourite humans on the planet. I cut my hair about 18 months ago so I had the hair long in front of the ears then clipped around...still growing out now but I just wanted a little bit of Robin in my day to day life :P
Ya know... I think this is probably the greatest live music video I have ever seen, and I don't state that lightly. Considering how it was filmed, that says everything that really needs to be said.
I went to that show in MA! AMAZING!! They even played "Gave Up" from the Broken album! Go see the remaining dates if you're anywhere near them...you won't regret it! This is a once in a lifetime oppurtunity to see a reunited Jane's and who knows when Trent will tour again!
Fucking RAD!!!!!!! These guys are the shit. I love this whole series of videos that is shot from a POV on stage as if you were performing with them. Very well done!!!!!!!
The quality is frakking AMAZING ! One of the most incredible video i've ever seen ! Rob Sheridan will become my favorite NIN member... Bravo for the audio mix too !
Same here and I absolutely agree. Their setlist was incredible!! I couldn't believe they played Metal and Mr. Self Destruct just to name a few that they normally don't play. Fantastic show, NIN is great.
+jraybozy thanks for the heads up. I watched it before I saw your comment. When I go to NIN concerts I know I am putting myself in danger with the lights but I just have to weigh the pros and cons :D
they played @ peninsula 2 nights ago, when they played burn it was like the end of the world in the crowd ....the concert was like nothing i ever witnessed incredible
I SO Hope they bring out a HD DvD of this Tour. It was absolutely freaking amazing!!! And I only went to one gig, in Sydney. It took me over a week to come down off the high of the show! I hope, like they've posted on the NIN Website, that it is made up of the best songs at each show. Did someone say BUUUUUUUURRRN?!!! Well OK I'm a nurse, I could have helped!! Trent, no matter what you do you ALWAYS put in 200%.
unfortunately I missed them in chicago because im broke and couldnt get tickets, but seeing what I missed on the internet is really cool of nin to do that, at least i can still see it, which is just as cool.
I hope you play "Burn" at bonnaroo. Can't wait to see you. I'll be front row center. And the Austin show was amazing regardless of the fans. The music was spot on to me. =)
I saw them last night and GOD it was THE BEST concert I have been to yet. Thanks so much Trent for coming to Manila! Whoo my neck still hurts from headbanging. :>
Saw the same show as here except at the Sydney Soundwave Festival. It's THE ONLY WAY I would have ever seen NIN front row in concert!!! I was on a high for weeks after it! Took me ages to come down. It was SO hot Trent was real nice and kept throwing bottles of water into the audience. He also threw his tambourine a few times ... I wonder who caught it. I was in between Rob and Trent ... DROOL! They'll probably never come back here to Australia but I can die happy now!!!
If they ever remake taxi driver this needs to be on the soundtrack! This would be the PERFECT theme song for Travis Bickle! Listen to the opening line of the song again.
Same, also credit to the camera guy who knew how to capture the moment. This would look completely different if the scene was just planely captured from a single static position 30+ feet away.
Saw them this tour. NiNJa Tour 09. NIN opened for Jane's Addiction. May2009, Kansas City. I bought two VIP seats. 5th Row Center, Orchestra Sec. Was worth it
My advice to you is to forget it's your first concert. And just be there. My first ever concert was The Pixies. Most of the time, I was just in awe that I actually got there. By time I appreciated it, it was over lol
yes, he was the drummer of Lostprophets. at 9 he started playing, and by the age of 11 he was opening with a band a woodstock festival.. he won with an argentinian guy de undiscovered under-18 drummer conquest of i dont remember exactly which year.. but i think 2000 he is fucking great... anyway, i like josh style (for NIN) more
I don’t feel connection to many songs from my youth but this one carries over quite well. It is safe to say i will never experience this song live but thankfully, this was recorded as it’s everything i would expect & hope it to be. Thanks, guys.
@V19torrent It is from Jazzmutant it is called a lemur it is a multi touch interface that you can use to control your music or lighting from where you stand it’s really cool stuff!! Trent Reznor uses a lot of midi controllers to run through his Mac Pro and Logic Studio software to manipulate all his sound! I’m still looking into his setup but it’s mind boggling, the degree of complication in the setup. He says with using computer software he can eliminate a lot of gear down to a laptop.
this is the best goddamn song in the fucking world
i used to blast this every day before school. now im gonna blast it every day before work.
GabrielMynd fr cuz
This 💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯
Yes!
i love that the camera is actually on stage and not in some random point away, this is how all concerts must be recorded
Are you from that one fb group
I was just talking about that. Trent was the first to do that
Rob Sheriden

middle aged lol what you gone live to 100? sounds like you didnt really live at all
I too arrived late on NIN scene. Never really got into the Terrible Lie era of them. With Teeth was my gateway drug then Year Zero and I've since become a huge fan. Saw the Year Zero tour in Kelowna BC. One of the best nights of my life.

The adrenaline rush i got from watching this, imagine it LIVE 😩🙏❤️
NIN live is one of the best concerts you could ever experience. Video doesn't even come close to doing it justice.
@@killimajig EXACTLY
Shout out to unsung hero Blumpy for one of the best live sound mixes ever
I would'nt call NIN industrial.
NIN is it's own world.
Strongly agree! 🙂
I would just call them fucking great!

Well said brother!
Robin Finck always looks so fucking cool on stage.
Love the bass tone during this particular set. Sounds like a heard of buffalo!
I was at this show.Totally awesome.Never was a huge fan, went with a friend for free.
Converted.Great live show.

Trent could make anyone feel like a school girl by just looking at them.
Don't want to be a fan girl but I can't help myself
Yep. Im 52 and go all silly at Robin too

i just can't live without NiN, i dont have enought words so i'll say only Trent is fucking GOD !
Trent is such a well rounded artist/musician.
I was at this particular gig and it was easily one of the best NIN gigs I had been to. This lineup worked the best. Trent, Ilan, JMJ & Robin and of course Rob on the camera.
+Kev Gray I fucking miss JMJ

Rob fucking KILLS this shoot! As does the band, and the live engineer. JUST INCREDIBLE.
Fuck u I'm jealous lol
The chaotic movement of the on stage camera really gives us the feeling to be there and feel the atmosphere
My favorite NIN song. The only time I've seen them live, they were going to play this song...
...then the power went out.
Real talk tho, that gig went OFF (pun not intended). Especially with the power cutting out on the beat. The disappointment was palpable when they resumed with 1,000,000 but the second attempt of Burn was SO GOOD.

As someone whose soul is tethered to NIN, this is the greatest synopsis ever! Well done

Love this stripped down version of the band and this raw version of this track works so well....
The beginning of this live version is just perfect - and when those drums come in!! yes!
i always hated being at shows and it seemed like people didnt know Burn......sad face...great song
One of the most badass rock jams ever
Just the first minute of this, fullscreen, in HD, might be the best thing on RUclips.

this footage from the 5D is fucking insane. good job Rob! I'd love to see a NiN DVD filmed in this style.
I loved the bass this song pumped out of my truck back in the day.
Saw them in Nashville on Halloween in 08. Gotta say, it was an awesome show. You'll enjoy it.
The quality is frakking AMAZING ! One of the most incredible video i've ever seen !

it has 0 dislikes because youtube made it so you can't see how many dislikes a video has 😐
i like how well-adjusted and happy trent seems
