@@YouCanTotallyMakeThat Hello Miss Crystal, I was wondering about the dtv hack using your inkjet. Problem being, that it won't withstand the washing. Back in the tye-dye day, we had a tablet we'd put in the wash to lock in the colors which worked great. Why wouldn't it work with this?? The ink is dry, and it's a dye, not a pigment. I'm going to try to find some and give it a try. Has anyone else thought of or tried it? You report back, I'll report back. Please and thank you. We'll all find out together. 🖖
Lol I was laughing along with you when you peeled the teacher design and said What the Heck!! like you were half expecting it not to work 😆😆 As a former teacher, I lived in teacher tshirts so these designs have a special place in my heart 🥰
Amazing! First time with DTF powder & sublimation on cotton. The colors are super bright & pop. I could not be more happy! The only thing I will do different next time is use a griddle. I have a clam shell heat press. Set t it at 285. 30 mins later the glue was still not melted. Got out the trusty griddle from the kitchen. Put parchement on top at 285 and it was melted in a couple mins. Pressed the shirt at 325 with firm pressure and then peeled after about 15 seconds. I wish I could post a pic of how good it looks. Thanks for posting this video. I couldn't have done it without you. 💜
@YouCanTotallyMakeThat I went by the directions in the kit I got & and that's posted on Amazon that says to melt DTF powder at 266 to 284F for 3-4 mins on the press. After nearly 30 mins later, the powder still had not melted all the way. If I had just gone by what you recommended, it would have been just a couple of mins. They really need to update their instructions. Anyway, like you said, the griddle is the way to go, and I could not be more happy with the result & know better next time. 💜
Soooo sorry I missed you today. I was looking forward to the premier. I have Yamation and it allows hot and cold peel and I just tested it out today for the FIRST Time (cool peel though) before watching this video. It was my first DTF ever testing the different methods and so far your recommendation for 1 cure 1 press came out the nicest. I have an Epson Workforce inkjet printer that uses an Durabright Ultra Ink (it is a Pigment Ink and is waterproof once dry as I use it to print images for watercolor/mixed media and my Iron-on Vinyl and never have an issue with the ink running/smearing once dry). I use this printer for work, personal and kiddo uses it for school so being able to use my existing printer for the DTF hack has sooo much promise. I'm doing a wash test tomorrow so I fingers crossed it all holds up! Also, the Yamation DTF film feeds through the printer's paper tray (I don't have a rear feeder) without a problem. Last, the Yamation powder did not smell at all and YES my desk vac came in very handy! I'm loving your hacks sooo much! Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!
I'm so glad you made it to the replay! Thats awesome that your first try came out perfect yay!! I ordered the Epson workforce yesterday it has the Durabright Ultra Ink. Hey, CrystalAnn!! @YouCanTotallyMakeThat.... I know with typical sublimation on tshirts, we need to put a protective paper inside the shirt to prevent ink transfer. I've not seen you do that with the DTF. Is it not necessary?? That would be awesome!

I have seen another youtuber using painters tape down the center (long ways the full length) of the DTF film in order to get it to feed through the printer instead of taping to a sheet of paper. Have you tried this? Thoughts?
