Yes, You can plug regular microUSB into the Galaxy S5. That connector, which I also have on my Galaxy Note3, is called something like microUSB 3.0. Because it has USB 3.0 speed. External HDD also used this type of connector.
Try to restore the iPhone SE via ITunes on PC / Finder on Mac. Maybe there is no activation Lock Or before you check if it has Medical ID or Emergency Pass or whatever is called. It maybe has the before owner contact informations in it

The skeuomorphic UIs were so rich and pleasant to use. Smartphones today are all boring and plain in comparison, back then it felt like you were really getting a bunch of cool and exclusive digital objects, features and games!
The hard drive port on the bottom of the Samsung S5 was awesome you could use a regular cable to just plug it into half of it and you could use the HDMI adapter with that too to send it to the TV. It also had an infrared light on it so you can use it as a TV remote I missed that I wish current phones had that. The S5 was hands down my favorite phone.
Still have my functioning Blackberry Curve. Loved it so back in the day. My Galaxy S4 is another fave of my oldies. Love this channel oh, Og kush is weed

I'm the same age as you and the 2nd Palm phone you showed was my first phone! The Palm Centro was released in 2007. Got it in 2008 for $30 on contract. Was great because it was a smartphone with a lot of games and could run emulators but didn't require an expensive at the time internet plan.
Regarding the Galaxy S5, yes you can charge it with a simple Micro USB, I remember when i worked for Telekom in Hungary and people brought in these phones having "charging issues" turned out later the problem was with the cable itself as they all almost perfectly charged with a simple Micro USB

I was worried that it wouldn't work or fit, but it did work and it amazed me. I think that weird mini usb port was for faster charging\data transfer

I keep them in my drawer in a sealed container.. so many great memories on them, I loved the camera on my Galaxy back then.. before the touch screen keyboards, I could type fast without looking.. The charging port on the S5 looks like that because it has display out capabilities, you can go and eBay and get a MHL to HDMI adaptor pretty cheaply. Most old phones would still work here in the UK as there is still 2G coverage, though not for much longer.

If you connect an iPhone to iTunes, you can manually factory reset it. Also, old flip phone almost always have the coolest games on them. I have a Samsung flip phone from like 2007 that I used as a temp phone when mine broke and it has the coolest Gundam knockoff game called ArchAngel. I kept it specifically for that. Also, those old phones having weird chargers is just a thing from back then, a lot of different models had specific chargers for some reason.
13:30, yes you can plug a micro-usb into it because it's a Micro B USB 3.0 slot. It was meant to replace regular Micro B but USB-C as long as you didn't need the super-speed function, luckily USB-C caught on, I do see some external Hard Drives still using it though.

That iPhone SE could have been reset through recovery. But you have to hope they didn't icloud lock it. It's not always locked as someone doesn't want it. Then there is me with really bad luck. An unlocked iPhone 6s, I replace the glass and use it as a media device for a few weeks. Then the storage chip corrupts, kills any recovery function, disables USB data transfer and sets a lock code on the screen that actually doesn't exist.
A little late to the party, but fair warning, that iPhone 3G has an expanding battery as well. The big crack on the back is the telltale sign for those phones. I had a 3GS that suddenly cracked on the back one day. After that, the battery began expanding like crazy. I left it in a bucket of water until I could properly dispose of it a week or so later.

They also had it on the note 3, as a test to see it used. It didnt last long and was only used till the s6.

That iPhone SE could have been reset through recovery. But you have to hope they didn't icloud lock it. It's not always locked as someone doesn't want it.
Then there is me with really bad luck. An unlocked iPhone 6s, I replace the glass and use it as a media device for a few weeks. Then the storage chip corrupts, kills any recovery function, disables USB data transfer and sets a lock code on the screen that actually doesn't exist.

A little late to the party, but fair warning, that iPhone 3G has an expanding battery as well. The big crack on the back is the telltale sign for those phones. I had a 3GS that suddenly cracked on the back one day. After that, the battery began expanding like crazy. I left it in a bucket of water until I could properly dispose of it a week or so later.
The Samsung Galaxy Active is an employee phone. It’s kind of replaced the Telxon. I recognized the phone and that case you took off.
