I love shopping at the Star Antique Mall in Snohomish. Always lots of treasures to find. Welcome back to the PNW. Thanks for sharing, George! Merry Christmas!
Good evening, George. Right from the go, that Nakara piece was a beauty. Definitely my style. I have a 1970s Eye of Horus belt buckle, and it's on my belt now. At one time, I had several of those types of buckles, but got rid of them over time. That Shelly blue and white _Dainty_ pattern would make a beautiful tea set. It's really pretty. Loved the Jennings Bros. desk set, and the Daguerreotypes setting close to it. The mineral display was fantastic, and I really liked the meg teeth. I prefer minerals in their natural state. Those kitchen clocks were great. I have two here, one of which is a wall clock, with the alarm. I used to have one of the Snoopy cookie jars. Not exactly my thing, and I ended up giving it away. Back in the 1970s, I had a Snoopy electric toothbrush...no idea what happened to it. I liked the aeroplane, at 22:07. At $195.00, that wall phone would've likely had to come with me, if it still had its original parts inside. That does, indeed, look like a fantastic place to get "the bug" and get into the antique business! Thanks for taking us along!
Eye of Horus! That explains a thing or two, what an amazing and stylish ancient symbol. The Nakara really appeals to me, I find Wavecrest but rarely see Kelva or Nakara. I am a big Jennings Bros. fan too, and I have Shelley dealer friends so I appreciate a lot of their Dainty-based patterns! The plane is a fun thing we see in Boeingville a lot, this town ranks second only to the nearby Boeing plant as a tourist attraction here! I sure got the bug and still have it.
@@TheAntiqueNomad I'm a nut for anything ancient Egyptian 🤪😂 The Eye of Horus is the ancient Egyptian symbol for good health, and it's where the Rexall "Rx" originated. That Nakara piece was really nice. I could see the similarities between it and Wavecrest. There is an old brass desk set here that was mom's. I don't know who made it, but I think it was made in Germany. It has similarities to that Jennings Bros. set, though. I'm sure the antiques bug is one you'll never regret catching!
As a little girl in the late 50s I always carried a little handkerchief in my pocketbook when getting dressed up. I wore white gloves and patent leather Maryjanes.
We are soooo lucky you did find your passion and life's work...have been there once and it was on a see where i end up trip and so loved the NW for that and somehow was quite busy there and my little room was a smoking room and it was BAD...rare to get stuck with now!!
Some of us still would collect the old rubber dinosaurs! =] Wonderful mineral display and the Megalodon teeth! I am not much for carved obelisks but the natural formations are so good!
I grew up in the 1970s with a mom who collected antique glass mostly via estate auctions, that we went to flea markets to sell, to support her antique jewelry collection. One thing I never see anymore is the antique hat pins... And I mean the true Victorian gold gorgeous hat pins.
This is a cool place 😎 Talking about evaporated milk... here in Newfoundland, evaporated milk is a popular dairy product. When it goes on sale people rush to buy cases if it. I use it daily in my Tetly tea and in some baking recipes. Some people mix it into mashed potatoes, and older folks will mix it with water in their cereal.
@TheAntiqueNomad yes, I guess fresh milk wasn't always available and didn't last long before it spoiled, and can milk was far safer because it was boiled and canned. In times where refrigerators didn't exist or were not affordable, or where even electricity to run one wasn't available, having food in cans was important. My dear, we'd love to see you visit ❤
Hi George, from the heart of NC! I’ve only been to San Diego on the west coast, but I hope to make it to Washington, Oregon and Alaska one day. There is so much natural beauty to behold. 🥰 I hope you can enjoy some down time now and relax a little bit! Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas!❤️💚❤️💚
You showing that Clinton Mask ( frame 6:05 ). Earlier, when you were looking at some of those tea cups, I saw a reflection in the back of the show case. An at first glance thought you had some creepy guy behind you ( frame 3:30 ). lol :~)
Well, I'm not always about prices as much as I am about appreciation for the objects. I do spend more time talking price in some videos, and I show tags a lot, but there's tons of pricing information all over the place
Another fun and fact-filled video❤ Thanks, George, for taking us along on these adventures!
Thanks George🎉
Yay for us that you walked into that place in ‘89 😊
Thanks George, nice to see where it all began!
It was a magical place!
Wow! I'd think I'd died and gone to heaven in a place like that!

I'm finding a lot of old recipes call for it! Interesting it's such a thing in Newfoundland. I really want to get there someday...

In the beginning ......
I have 6 cups (duos) of Shelleys teacups “blue swirl” 1920s I think. Bringing to the show in jan. Very pretty but not an easy sale here.
They seem to do better where the English have access, we sell them to Canadians
I am first thumbs up
I hope you like it!
