Just a note: The stirrer should be lifted when comparing the colors, but not completely taken out of the tube. It's so as to avoid any potential loss of fluid which would lead to a lower Hb estimate.
Yeah but most of the cases we have to squeeze the finger to get enough blood at 1 time otherwise bubble will produce which will largely effect it and the blood in capillary tube may clot in no time. When we performed in lab most of students had to squeeze it or have to prick at different place on finger to get enough blood. With a tiny prick

Very helpful information. But u have not mentioned after placing blood in N/10 HCl in sahlis tube wait for 10 minutes And also In no case we don't have to take the stirrer out, add distilled water but don't take the stirrer out as it will contaminate the solution.

Sir on the haemoglobin tube what does percentage (not Gram percentage ) denote? Today I performed this test. Gram percentage value was 9.6 and percentage value was 65%
I obviously dnt knw better than u sir But it’s not advisable to remove the stirrer everytime Coz the blood loss occurs with the stirrer..! P.S pls dnt get offended sir Bt i just shared wt i knew :)
Zeel Kodia Your point is right. But we have already mixed the blood with DW so the blood volume is sufficiently maked up and it will affect the final result. Although your suggestion is highly acceptable and we are thankful for this.
Some laboratories multiply the meter reading with 8 and 9 to get the result in decimals i,e:- Meter reading.....13 13×8= 10.4 gms% I still have a doubt

For God's and your own sake, learn the correct method from somewhere else.
