Yeah the main reason was to actually make it sound like it’s an actual straight 6 engine. Most people said the stock exhaust didn’t really make it sound like a straight 6 and Active Autowerks theory is that their equal mid pipe helps with doing so.

The midpipe is after catalyst converter so it shouldn't be a problem.
I’ve always been confused and disappointed by how horrific the F80s sound. BMW produces some of the finest I-6 turbo platforms in the world. Toyota agrees. 😎 🇯🇵

Do you need to cut the MPE rear box or the midpipes ? I would prefer my Midpipes to be cut so I can return my car back to stock if needed

I’m with you! I didn’t even realize people didn’t like the sound until hearing opinions online. By then I had already liked it and my perspective didn’t change. Sounds good to me
Count me in 😂 I kinda prefer the stock S55, maybe with MPerf exhaust. The note is so BMW. The raspiness of it. Idk. Could be me alone. This setup still sounds good but it's sorta like more generic i6 sounds to me.
seems to me the m performance exhaust is a bit raspier then the competition exhaust
What are the differences between the resonated vs non resonated versions, in regards to sound, volume and drone?
What situations would you choose one or the other?
If you’re sensitive to drone, having good resonators in place will quell or eliminate the low frequency exhaust notes that produce interior drone.
Resonators adjust frequency and reduce drone under low to medium engine loads.
Mufflers reduce/regulate overall volume of what the engine is doing, allowing you to dial in how loud or quiet you want the car in normal driving, and at WOT.

@@TheTexican05i have an f80 m3 comp, aa equal length, non-resonated. I do have the resonators though, and planning to install these badboys if you say that it eliminates drone.

it doesnt need the equal length mid pipe! just the H pipe in the centre

Just bad the fart can louder and deeper. I thought equal length was supposed to get rid of all the popping and farting noise?

Please do normal drive arounds and not just WOT. Most of us are not flooring it from red light to red light. This set up didn’t work with the m2 and it sounded horrific. I just want to make sure.
I did the AA EL non-res with the AA Valved axle-back and it is INSANELY good. Loud? yup. Some drone? yup. I didn't buy a Sentra for a reason. And speak for yourself on the WOT. One of the great things about being over 50: I can afford the tickets now.
