I just got one yesterday! I went in for a Vorteks but they convinced me that i would be happier with the typhoon as a first RC car. Tires are smaller and dont expand or soften up the same as they would on the Vorteks. It was explained that I will have a more consistent level of control both short and long term on the vehicle and enjoy its handling better as a newcomer to the hobby. CNHL had 5000mah 3s a couple weeks ago in the discount bin. 2 free first come first serve, just pay $5 for shipping. Join thier mailing list to get discounts and points program, plus good coupons almost daily that vary in value. I switched over to CNHL about 2 months ago and have a couple dozen various batteries already from them. Always always always they arrive in not just optimal voltage...its so tight across the cells that I wouldn't believe it without seeing it myself. 90% of the time its .005v variance or tighter. I cant speak for long term...but the price to battery ratio is always a great buy and they always arrive in excellence. They are a tight fit lengthwise if you lay them flat but do work. I just need to sit down and solder the IC5 connectors onto the batteries. Cant wait to play with this thing today!
Yeah man , I need to just order up a version of the typhon . You guys ever see Edwin Lamonaco channel . He s got some hellacious jumping vids and good info .
