- Following a trio of theatrical films, the beloved children's characters Alvin, Simon and Theodore are set for their first TV series in more than 20 years. The new CGI-animated Alvinnn!!! and the Chipmunks was commissioned by M6 in France, and has been picked up for two seasons by Nickelodeon to air on more than 70 networks internationally outside of North America and Brazil in early 2015. PGS Entertainment has the worldwide media rights, excluding the U.S. and France, for the series, which comes from the husband and wife producing team of Ross Bagdasarian and Janice Karman.
Bagdasarian and Karman are the co-owners and CEO and president, respectively, of Bagdasarian Productions, which is producing the new show along with OuiDO! Productions. Karman is also the series creator. Bagdasarian took over shepherding the Alvin and the Chipmunks brand when his father, the original creator, passed away. He and Karman voiced the characters through the incarnations in the '80s and '90s, and are now bringing the chipmunks to a new generation of fans. Bagdasarian and Karman talk with TV Kids Weekly about updating the brand for viewers today.
She is a real nice person in real life. She answers most fan mail. She actually sent a dvd of the new show for my niece who is struggling with bullying. Janice should be commended for bringing bullying to light in a great way.
Ross and Janice may never see this message, but I played some of the songs from the 80's Cartoon for my 7 month old daughter, seeing her light up and kick her feet to the music brought a smile to my face, I wish to thank them for keeping the Chipmunks alive.
I'm disappointed they decided to do CGI, but Ross and Janice did such a great job revamping the characters for my generation (with The Chipmunk Adventure, and the Universal films) that I trust their judgment.
I agree I love the Chipmunks and Chipettes look on the Nickelodeon Channel series. I watch the show just as much as my son! In fact I listen to their music even more than he does. lol!!! They have created really good and unique songs to sing and dance along to. Even better than a lot of the music they have on the radio these days. Excellent CGI work.
I can't stand the movies. But I love the new show on Nick. I really like the character design. They look like chipmunks but they still have that somewhat anthropomorphic classic look about them instead of realistic tiny chipmunks in the movies which I hated.
They did live action. It would be hard to use real chipmunks

I consider Ross bagdasarian jr the main inspiration for my interest in music production, film making and animation. Now I study computer animation. He is passionate about what he does and an inspiration for others too in addition to me.

Would love to hear them talk about 'The Chipmunk Adventure' 1987 sometime, the blu ray is out of print, so there are still a lot of fans of this movie.

It was actually his father, Ross Sr., who had given himself the stage name "David Seville". The board members of his production company had the adorable names "Alvin, SImon and Theordore". So, he is Daves son, basically.

My personally, These are people are like very creative to teach kids like situational standards. They know how to make great stories and live to tell the tale. The CGI in my opinion, its really different. I like the original version of the chipmunks and chippettes. I love the voices, enjoy the humor, and really show appreciation to understand and live life. This show gave me inspiration to make my own story. Artistically. To Janice and Ross its awesome. Thank them and give them love
I've grew up watching alvin and the Chipmunks since it aired on n.b.c. in the early to late eighties.😊🤔

I know this is going to sound strange, but I'm a big fan of Alvin Simon and Theodore, more of SImon but still. Anyway, I kind of hope at some point that they'll make an Alvin and the chipmunks meet Dracula or something like that.... and now with the new CGI, I think that would be an interesting aspect of the entire thing.
They should really do a new reboot out of them, but with the art style of the 60’s version that Ross Sr was famous for

Jessica Mays agreed. I hope they don't sell them either. It would be a real shame if they did. You would have to worry more about their children selling them than Ross because Ross seems to want to keep his father's legacy alive. Kinda like what happened to the muppets and brian Henson selling them to Disney. But I don't think that they would do that because it's a family business and work on the chipmunk episodes alongside their parents
I love Alvin and the chipmunks and Brittany and the chipettes there great they make me so happy when I watch it I feel like I'm there and they feel like my family I guess that's how much I love them cause I at least watch 20 episodes a day so there great I love them so much love just doesn't seem like a good enough word
So eating shit is 'relatable'? Sorry, but I will keep to the cartoons, as soon as I saw that I stopped watching the film and haven't seen one since. I grew up in the 80's and so the cartoon holds a place in my heart but whilst the Chipmunk Adventure movie had diamond smugglers they NEVER resorted to eating shit, they never had to resort in disgusting toilet humor.

Ross had no interested in the squeaky little voices unit he got hooked up with Janice other than that he liked Alvin because he talked back to his dad He had studied to be a lawyer He pretty much let Janice take over aside from still doing the voices about the only good thing she did was create the Chipettes and did a good job on the Chipmunks Adventure movie I enjoyed the 80's cartoon, but the changes to this one are horrible They pretty much destroyed Theodore He is just plain spoiled in this one used to be cute cared about other people now he is almost the complete opposite She changed the part about them being triplets She had to make sure everyone knew that Theodore stood out in his own separate place as the youngest although Theodore was the youngest of the three they were all treated equally not now When people ask how old they supposed to be in this one neither Ross nor Janice seemed to know or care as long Theodore is the youngest it doesn't matter to Janice about the rest of them, and I doubt Ross cares enough to wanna know Janice just responded about 12 or so The only two characters she seems to care much about are Theodore and Alvin ,and she only cares about Alvin because he is the main character and Simon probably is better and more well liked than the other two The Chipettes are almost non-existent They show up now and again but for the most part we hardly see them and when we do they are often background characters They once again can't answer the question as to why they live alone without parents or what happened between them and Miss Miller When you ask them about it they just don't respond to the question You would think they would know these questions were coming and have some sort of answer They clearly don't care She switched Alvin and Simon placement Now Simon is the oldest and Alvin is the middle kid maybe this was about the only change that made much sense I am sure if it had been up to Ross ,the story would have ended with Alvin finally getting his hula hoop and spinning off with Simon Theodore and Dave going back to the woods and disappearing forever

janice karman I would like to give an idea for your show Alvin and the Chipmunks ...... I did a poll and I voted for the majority I asked who their favorite love team was and Simon and Simon the most Jeanette the Simonette ..... I wish the viewers were more interested .... I can suggest that the viewers be more interested in Simonette and that Alvin and Brittaney should not be so mean. ..While Simonette is going to be sweet and I hope you hear my little talk thank you so much ... please comment if you adorn this statement and please review the episode just in case you do. Ross’ dad doesn’t have the same middle name though. His dad’s full name is Rostom Sipan and his name is Ross Dickran and they happened to be called Sr. and Jr. My grandpa’s name is James Edward and my dad’s name is James Elliot but they don’t call Sr. and Jr.

My dad was Cliff Hils (bass) who did the Chipmunk sessions in early 60s. I also knew Brian Farnon (voice of Theodore?) . Had three or four of the records. Played them all the time. Favorite guest was June Foray (Mrs. Frumpington). And the band arrangements were top notch. Did your dad do them?

Actually it’s 4 but sometimes a few more come to help out as well, but this is mostly done by the family of 4 the husband and wife team and their two children.

I watched the new version. The adding of long tails is an interesting choice. I noticed that Simon has a slightly different hair color. I was disappointed that they went with the 80's theme instead of something new and more in the style of 2010's sound.
***** Of course I don't take it personally. I loved the old theme. I just thought that a new theme would go with the shows new look. Even a modern version of the old theme. I would have also liked an actual opening to the show, not a bunch of clips.
