"I only have to look at this window for long enough and it will scratch". Perfect encapsulation of the "fun" of plastic caravan windows in one sentence! Got some scratches on my drivers side where there is absolutely zero chance that it scratched a hedge or anything else and yet none on the other side where I did have to inch past a tall hedgerow having "met" a Coachman coming the other way up a hilly Cornish lane. PS Wonderful to see you back regularly and looking really good :)
Thank you Becky, glad to be "doing stuff" and watching scratches appear lol. Feeling better - not out the woods yet, more chemicals coming my way at the end of Feb - so content may drop off again.
Always a good day when you post a new Trudgians video Dan, in the Spring I'll be getting ours washed up and some sort or paint seal / ceramic coating applied, as it's a 2011 Bailey preparation is everything. I can then quickly (ish) wet wash but will likely get some dry wash to do windows on site, plus the front if it's got mucky en route. Thanks.
Bought some Dry Sparkle from Prima. 2 bottles and two micro fibre cloths. Just been over to the storage yard and cleaned all the windows. This stuff is brilliant. Thanks Dan.
Nice to see you back on the circuit . I personally, wouldn’t recommend any waterless cleaner. The acrylic windows are prone to scratches and clean water is the best safe way to clean them with.
Hi , Purchased the Dry Sparkle caravan cleaner after watching your review. It might be worth letting everyone know that it doesn’t touch black streaks and I mean doesn’t touch them. A wet cloth had as much effect. Your review was on your van with paint seal finish which allows the black streaks to come off with water. I see the company makes a separate black streak remover. Love you channel M5ZAP
Excellent video and glad you mentioned the ceramic coatings such as Painseal, Diamond Brite etc, and just the right amount of info too. Love these types of videos. Keep em coming please 🙂
Costco are a great for microfibre clothes. They do a huge pack for about £20. I too use paint brushes for cleaning too and thought the same about the metal parts. I wrapped a couple of rings of insulation tape around it. I’ve done the same on my long reach wash brush so there are no sharpe surfaces exposed
Hi Dan. Catching up on vlogs we missed. This looks a good product. Have used waterless wash on cars, but not yet on caravan. May now give this a try. Thank you. George and Trish, CaravanningMacs
Thanks Dan, to me waterless dose just not seem right. The dirt in the air is abrasive, so to wash it off first always seems right to me. Not sure how true this is, but I was told when washing microfibre cloths not to use fabric softener, as this dose something to the microfibres.
Dan, great vid. Look forward to your new ones with baited breath. Suspect we might see another " Dan buys a van" series??? Keep it going mate, love em 👍
Top video as always Dan. Buddy you should be using a product from in2detailing called Optimum no rinse (onr). 40 ml makes 10ltrs. Super cheap at 8.95. And don't skimp on microfibre either. 70/30 mix cloths. Have an awesome day.
Agreed Wesley. It's one product I can't be without. It tailors nicely with All my Bilt Hamber products too. I can also swear by Autoglym's rapid ceramic detailer spray. Dirt and detritus just falls off my clubman. Which to be fair is never allowed to get dirty.
Many thanks for the info. I was wondering how micro-fibre cloths do you use when cleaning the caravan, If you're only use one quarter at a time? Love your tips and tricks and you've really helped a newbie caravanner these past couple of years.
Very informative and useful content, thank you my friend. However, what’s wrong with spraying a bit of cheaper water mixed with a drop of cleaning liquid?
Would love to see a video of how you clean under the solar panel on the roof. Can't get anything to go under it and the green algae etc. is building up considerably. It's driving me that nuts that I'm considering refusing to have one on the next van, even it comes as standard.
sure, although we find a garden bamboo stick, wrapped with a torn up microfibre cloth fits well underneath. If that doesn't work for you, try something thinner like a long ruler, again wrapped in a microfibre cloth. Hope that helps.
Have you heard of or ever used wet and forget. I think you just soak the van with the mixture and just leave it. Sounds a bit like the spray we use after a shower which does keep the shower clean.
Car polish. I used Meguires "Step 2" Polish (amzn.to/3srXjuj) for years on the Lunar, then I finished it with a wax to protect the surface. Use with a couple of clean micro fibre cloths when cleaning and make sure the window is clean and dry before you start.
How many spray bottles do you use for 1 caravan? Probably a lot. At £22.50 a piece this will come to a big amount. I think I’ll stick to water and soap. Peter
Dan, tell me.....when Ange washes the microfiber, does she just bung em in the machine with other stuff...or does she wash them without fabric softener as they recommend ? Thanks, Les
Hi Les, I usually wash the micro fibres with tea towels / hand towels from the bathrooms at home. I tend to put them on a hotter wash, with fabric softner etc - however i dont tumble dry them, i drape them in the airing cupboard. Hope that helps.
Great video Dan. Just out of interest, we get those dark streaks down the side of the van but they are difficult to get off. Sometimes a wash does not shift them. Any recommendations?
Hey, yes indeed, a specific black streak / tar remover will do the job - go careful if you have had a coating on the caravan - harsh chemicals can remove it. Dry Sparkle do a tar / black streak remover if that helps. Take care
I enjoyed watching this, but Dan I’m going to stick with your method for wasting the van in your first video. It works for me, just have to take everything with me including water. 👍😎 regards John.
Interesting video & thanks for posting, but to be perfectly honest I wouldn't waterless wash ANYTHING. Car, boat, caravan - if water isn't available, leave it until water is available. Far too easy to inflict scratches, marrs & swirls onto bodywork & windows, regardless what the manufacturers state. Its just not worth the risk
Hi, 4 years I’ve used waterless and I challenge anyone to find a scratch on any part of the caravans and cars I’ve owned. - to be fair, I was just as sceptical before I used them, proper use and prep is really the name of the game and not for heavy dirt 👍
it used to, until i used it and found it excellent when no water is easily on hand. sure, it doesn't replace a good clean, but for a quick clean, it works well with none of the fears I had.
Thank you for this Dan very useful. Also, happy to see you back and looking fab.

yeah, its pretty good isn't it - if you like the product let them know, fill in a review on their website - they are a really lovely growing company.
Thank you Sir, for the update. One day we shall bring our caravan to the UK for an good, English holiday. Thanks Dan!
Great video! Most of the campgrounds here in the northeast US do not allow washing. I will definitely do this while on site. Thanks!
Been using Showroom Shine on Car and Caravan for many Years , Always makes the Caravan look new and Blue Diamond Acrylic Glass Cleaner..👍👍
Nice to see you back on the circuit . I personally, wouldn’t recommend any waterless cleaner. The acrylic windows are prone to scratches and clean water is the best safe way to clean them with.
Never considered this as an option. Good for a quick wipe on some grubby areas whilst on holiday after towing by the looks of it.

Hi my Dry Sparkle kit arrived today, Thanks to your discount code a great deal.

Dan.....please STOP these wonderful videos........you are costing me a fortune 🤣🤣🤣
Ordered loads of that stuff!!! Excited now. 😆
Great, informative video Dan, thanks. Good product to keep in the toolbox for cleaning the caravan after it gets dirty during towing.
Dan, great vid. Look forward to your new ones with baited breath. Suspect we might see another " Dan buys a van" series???

Great blog Dan,I will look at your recomendation for the product, look forward to the next one, cheers Stuart

Fancy popping over to Stockport Dan and giving me a full demonstration on all the cleaning products in your arsenal on my caravan 😂
Love these videos, i have now brought the dry sparkle can’t wait to try it out keep up the good work 👍🏼
Your up early... 8am on a Friday..
Good to see you back 😁👍
ha, busy day today... needed to get up and get on

I’ll even mix a bit of ONR in my snow foam too. Love the stuff, so much better and cheaper than any waterless wash I’ve tried

Another great tip to keep microfiber cloths in great condition is do not wash them with fabric conditioner as it ruins them.
Great tips there Dan, thanks. Keep Well. Nick
Glad it was helpful! - Hope you are both well. Hopefully will catch you later this year my friend.
Take care
Dan

No problem 👍 - Hope you are well.

Yes thank you dan 👍we are both fine and we still enjoy caravaning all year round 🌞
Very useful 👌

I always use Auto glym to clean caravan

ive heard of it, but never used it.
So,Dan,what product is best for 'trying' to remove those fine scratches off the windows,so mild abrasives?
Car polish. I used Meguires "Step 2" Polish (amzn.to/3srXjuj) for years on the Lunar, then I finished it with a wax to protect the surface. Use with a couple of clean micro fibre cloths when cleaning and make sure the window is clean and dry before you start.
@@TheTrudgians ,yes, like that Meguires,I do use car polish on my windows, lovley and smooth, and water beads off.
How many spray bottles do you use for 1 caravan? Probably a lot. At £22.50 a piece this will come to a big amount. I think I’ll stick to water and soap. Peter
Hi Peter, i have used 1 bottle about 3 times around the entire caravan, plus 5 or 6 times on the front panel, prior to fitting the towing cover.
@@TheTrudgians Oké, so that’s cost effective. Peter

I find eBay is quite cheap for micro fibre cloths, just make sure of the size before ordering as some are too small to be of any use 🤨

@@TheTrudgians Thanks for that Dan, will go and take a look at Dry Sparkle website for sure. 👍👍
Thanks for this. How long does a bottle of the product last bearing in mind you need to be liberal with it?
Hi Claire, I have used a single bottle around the entire caravan about 3 times and cleaned the front around 5 times when i fit the towing cover.
thank you so much for these video, they are so very helpful.....I hope you dont mind me asking but how do you pronounce your surname?
ha, no problem, its pronounced Truh jun
I enjoyed watching this, but Dan I’m going to stick with your method for wasting the van in your first video. It works for me, just have to take everything with me including water. 👍😎 regards John.
What about using Rainex on the windows Dan/anybody?
Hi Michael, ive never used Rainex, only seeing it in action on car windscreens many years ago, so i cannot really comment - sorry.
Watched again it's still not a dirty van nothing can match water.
oh ok, well its pretty ruddy filthy - ill be dragging it up to the wash bay in Feb for a good deep clean.
Interesting video & thanks for posting, but to be perfectly honest I wouldn't waterless wash ANYTHING. Car, boat, caravan - if water isn't available, leave it until water is available. This isn't cleaning it's detailing try it on a dirty caravan it just doesn't work .
Watch again. The caravan was filthy.
