I didn't believe it when I had first heard about this but my beliefs changed right after I saw this traveling on the 170 freeway probably to dump at Crown Disposal (Recology) in Sun Valley. This truck is about 2 weeks old.
Yes yes first Amrep ASL ever bought for the city of Beverly Hills and I think this is the first time the N3 has been put on 300 duty. I had a lot of trouble trying to film and trying to consider the drivers work space due to the lack of space in the alleys. I hope it turned out well.
Amrep also came out to look at the truck, make some adjustments, and give the driver a few tips which was interesting to see. Overall, the driver likes the N3 over the Curbtenders.
On that note a personal thanks goes to the driver for his professionalism and being super cool with the camera. Much respect to these guys at Beverly Hills Public Works maneuvering these trucks through tight alleys, making 100 point turns, dealing with lines of 300s and whatever else they must deal with to keep the trash & recycling moving.

Great video! Your footage came out great! Really liked the first clip where you got an up high shot of the truck and you could see the hopper, that was cool! Nice to see BH is ordering the N3, fun to watch on those 300s!

Just as entertaining as Andy's video! Such a neat truck! That yellow arm sure looks great. I cannot believe how tight of an area this truck has to squeeze through, and I'm sure being a tri-axle definitely makes things harder lol Dig the rims too. Definitely not the typical SoCal rims and I will miss their black rims but these are really nice. Awesome 300 line at 13:00 haha Love the camera quality as always, super sharp and the saturation is very clear. Really like that about your videos :D Awesome video! Very impressed with this truck!
This truck would look very very nice with black rims lol. It still makes me wonder why they would throw a tri axel in a place like this.

the Volvo white expeditor cab design has stood the test of time since the early 80's. Autocar has now adopted this same cab look/design from volvo.

Wow I never imagined this lol. I really like this truck and I'd prefer this one over the curbtenders as well! The size of the grippers are impressive too, does this truck only collect 300s? Do you know how many of these Beverly Hills bought? Overall great video! Really enjoyed it!
I believe this truck collects regular carts aswell on other days. They have bought a few many are running already.

It's a cool truck but that was a close call at 1:53 Can't picture what it would be like to hopper a 300 gallon bin.
I know I mean im sure its happened more than once already. It got very very very close to falling in but never did. It actually lost grip of a 300 and it fell on the floor when coming out of the hopper. Some extra thought or repair needs to be done to those grips.

Does Beverly Hills still do the mixed waste at homes or have the residents started to sort the waste now because a few years ago the city had all carts collected by one truck
Yes they still sort for you. It goes to the Former Crown Disposal MRF in Sun Valley, now Athens. So blue and black containers get collected by the same truck. The only thing that is collected on its own and must be sorted by residents is green waste. Thanks for the comment.
Nice. Loved the opening shot from up above followed by a tight turn in the alley. Looks like the N3 handles 300s well enough. A full sized packer blade would clear the hopper better and those grippers let the 300s slip a bit much for my preference, but with the discontinuation of the 7000 arm St. Pete could use a few of these units. The route conditions are very similar, 300s in alleys, they like similarly sized bodies too.
Thank you sir! A full size packer would be ideal but man the clean out wouldn't be too nice. & yes I agree the grips need to be adjusted or re design even. Its a cool concept but they didn't execute it well. I think they need the old style grips with the individual cylinders on each gripper, at least for 300 collection.
Any idea what st. Pete is going to get instead? I am honestly not sure why they discontinued the 7000. Hands down that is one of Heils best arms.
