I'm from Argentina and I remember listening to this song for the first time when I was 11 years old. Today i'm 25 and until this day is one of my favorite songs EVER.
Why can't Eurovision be like this anymore? Nowadays, they seem more concerned with spectacular staging and powerful ballads than just having fun which is what eurovision was supposed to be.
Hard to believe that they're from Moldova, one of the smallest, poorest, most remote countries in Europe, yet still make some of the funniest, most creative music I've ever heard.

Zdob si Zdub are absolute legends. Their music was played in a Slavic club at a party in Serbia last year. I was over the moon. :D Everyone was dancing like crazy.
Now that is how you make an ESC debut. Even today, 19 years later, people are still talking about this performance. It is literally more famous today then the Greece's winning song.
I was 7 when I saw this and I’m confident this is the reason I’m such a fan of Eurovision now. The McFly or Chilli Peppers of Moldova - I thought it was the coolest thing ever. And they brought Granny on stage!

The German ESC broadcaster lately did a documentation on Danube cruises. During a stop at Giurgiulesti, the only Moldovan port, the passengers visited the Grandmama at her village.

Watching this again in 2024 after the Eurovision they are one of my all time favorite entries. Such legends. I remember being 5 when watching this eurovision and cheering for them to win.

Such an amazing debut for tiny, poor Moldova.. And now we've all come to love them for their crazy quirky stuff. We never got "O-zone" and "Dragostea Din Tei" [NumaNumaIei] in the contest [though we did get one member (Arsenie)], but we've gotten Sunstroke, Pasha, Aliona, Nelly, DoReDos, and other brilliant gems.

Not only are they one of Moldova's greatest bands, I think they are one of the world's greatest bands, on a par with Nirvana, Green Day and Pearl Jam , but more creative, more fresh! Fascinating to hear him sing in English.
