I just love the way that your love for Josh shows through in everything that you do. You are always looking for things to make him happy or checking to see if he needs anything. He is truly a loved man, that is very obvious. Thank you for your wonderful, loving and helpful videos. They are refreshing, encouraging and fun to watch.💚💚
Wow, thank you!
Yes totally agree! My Mom and I watch your videos and I was just telling her how beautiful your marriage is because you both are so kind, loving, and thoughtful towards one another. God bless you and your family!
Our Becky and her family are truly blessed❣️🙏
I hope you let Orbit out , you know with a UTI you have to go often.
Love watching your channel but I feel bad that your little dog had to wait in that little carrier. Hope he feels better soon. Congrats on your new baby.
Costco removed the fast-spoiling leaves from their spring mix. Also, put a paper towel on top of the greens. Make sure it’s always dry. The spring mix lasts MUCH longer!
Yes! As a chef that works in a restaurant i second this. Paper towel.
Yes the paper towel trick woks great!
Oh wow I didn’t realize they removed that! Wonderful! Stopped buying spring mix for that reason - spoiled so fast! Yes a paper soaks up any liquid from the leaves. TFS
I also use the paper towel, and then store in my fridge upside down so the towel is on the bottom collecting the moisture.

I use the notes app in my phone for my grocery lists - i can add to it whenever i think of something i need whether home or not.
Also good for when you dont get all you need, you still have the list!
Me too. I use the task list so I have the check boxes and reuse the same list over all the time
Yes I use a grocery list app too. You can have different stores with each item you want. 😉 it helps me out! Because I have lost my list a few times too. I remember most, but the important things not lol! 🫂♥️
Me too!
Me too! But you can also “share” the list with your partner!

You can use your yeast straight from the freezer. You don’t have to keep some in your cupboard. You can keep it all in your freezer and just take out what you need for your recipe! I do it all the time, and it works just fine.
Ur use?
AND it lasts me well over 2 years in freezer. I don't use a lot of commercial yeast preferring sourdough or mother dough. I hate to waste yeast but I just replace it every 2-3 years as long as I didn't forget and put it back in freezer. Never had problems with the commercial or professional 1 lb bags of SAS. Low yeast or sourdough breads easier to digest which is why I don't rush my fermentation (first rise).
I keep mine in the fridge and I have never had any issues with it.
I also keep my yeast in the freezer! It’s never failed me and I think mine is at least two years old.
“I’m not going to buy the Costco-sized Nutella … because I’ll eat it.” 😂 I sooo relate!
I have to hide it when I buy it or my daughter will eat it all.😂
Your not going to believe it but I’ve never tried Nutella. I love peanut butter tho!!
same girl same
I bye it and eat it all
That’s my daughter. I think it’s gross 😂
Hey Becky just wanted to share that I give my dog water with a splash of apple cider vinegar for UTI. (About a teaspoon in her 10 oz water bowl) I have a really old dog she's 17 and she gets them often as well as an upset stomach and the vinegar helps her with both.
Poor Orbit stuck in that travel crate.
You’ve heavily inspired me to start cooking more meals at home, so for Christmas I was gifted a copper chef set, a little Dutch oven, a small crock pot, and many glass dishes with lids! 😍 I’m excited to play around with everything ❤️
That is awesome!
I know how you feel. I’m alone so I would just pick up fast food after work because it’s easier. Watching Becky it’s made me try fixing casseroles and different things. I’m loving it and it tastes so much better and a plus is my cholesterol is finally normal after about 10 years of not eating right.
I keep the yeast in a jar in the freezer all the time and it really keeps it for much longer. I am using one I got 2 years ago and it is still good
Thanks for the tip Mindy
@@Castedlots mine lives in a jar in the freezer door. I just made bread bowls 2 days ago with it and it worked great. I just take it out long enough to measure and then back in the freezer again
Yep I do the same & I’ve never had it go off.
I've kept yeast in the freezer and it's lasted for years.
@@thatonegirlelaine it is amazing how long it last in the freezer. I found the freezer storage about 4 or 5 years ago and before that I trashed so much yeast that it was a sad shame
My boyfriend and I are both nerds who love to cook, so we made a spreadsheet to inventory our deep freezers and pantries (we live separately). It's already been a huge success because we batch cook together and we have already cooked a bunch of the meat in both of our freezers!
I buy meat on sale and then forget what I have, plus my deep freezer is in a detached garage, and living in Minnesota means I don't want to trudge out there more than I have to. My boyfriend purchased a quarter cow and pig a while ago, but didn't have a good system to know what cuts he has, so now we are both able to utilize what we already have much better :)
That little lump under your eye is Milia, it can easily be removed by a Beautician. Could you give me some more information re: pantry challenge - what is it? etc. How is your dog staying in the car this long, has it got water and air flow?
If you go to three rivers homesteads channel. Jessica started the challenge. :)
Thank you Becky for creating the best channel on RUclips. You're the only person that my fiancé will sit and watch with me! You're totally relatable and you don't edit out if you make a mistake or drop anything. I love it. I'm going to try the pantry challenge because of you! I'm excited!!
This Christmas was a very practical year for us in terms of gifts. I got a Presto pressure canner and jars, my husband wanted some pie irons for when we are out camping, and my two teen boys each wanted kitchen gadgets. My 16-year-old asked for a panini press, and my 13-year-old asked for a cast iron waffle iron. Of course they both wanted typical teen boys stuff too.
My kids mostly got bikes, books, and clothes. And too much candy. 😂
Well there was a fishing pole and tool set, both useful though.
@@MommaLousKitchen nothing wrong with the impractical stuff too. Trust me, my kids got plenty of that kind of stuff too🤣
I love my pie irons when camping. I have a grill pan w press @home. I got my bestie one for xmas so they don't have to build a fire to make our favorite camping pie iron recipes. They absolutely love it!

I love your channel Becky, but I got worried about your dog being in the car so long while you were shopping😢
Heads up Becky. I noticed there’s an Etsy Shop named Acre Homestead. Strongly advise you trademark your name Acre Homestead
I'm not usually a kitchen gadget person but I bought the instant pot Dutch oven for weeknights and I absolutely love it!
As new grandparents with a Costco card, we loved being able to gift our little guy with diapers. That was nearly a dozen years ago. At the time they were by far the best quality we found. May want to check them out when Baby A grows a bit. Savor these first weeks.
Ooh the relief I felt when you remembered to grab coffee even after losing your grocery list. I was on the edge of my seat…”is she gonna remember the coffee? Don’t forget the coffee! Yeay, she remembered the coffee!” 😂
I WAS TOO! Coffee is life!
I was too.😅
I was yelling frozen green beans when you were making the new list 😂😂😂. My dog come in and checked on me 😅

I also said Becky, you need green beans 😊
Same. But I was positive she would remember when she got into winco. Lol
Thanks for painting the job of home maker in such a fabulous light. It's what I've always loved being and doing. My mom did a great job at this.
Actually, I think Becky has a huge job and this You Tube site is it. It takes hours and hours to make and edit a video and that is outside of a homemaker job. However, I have nothing but warm feelings for homemakers and I was one for 5 years and it was a wonderful time in my life.
When I was a young married in the 1970s, being a homemaker was devalued and mocked. I was made to feel like a second class citizen for wanting to be home with my son fulltime and for taking pride in my home instead of having a paying job outside of the home. It's wonderful to see someone young like Becky who's showing women how rewarding homemaking can be. I'm sure she's helping many women feel pride and value in their homemaking career--just like me who, after 50 years, feel the pain and humiliation heaped on me during the '70s and '80s go away. Becky has validated my worth to society. I appreciate this.
(You are still a homemaker if you work outside the home--the two aren't mutually exclusive.)
I think having to stay home because of COVID showed many women--and men--just how nice it was to do homey things like bake bread, make jellies and jams, garden and care for their own children. (I recognize that the financial hardships caused by COVID were brutal for many people so I'm not minimizing that.)
I always left my grocery list at home if i made one, BUT now i use my notepad app on my phone, that i always have with me. Erase items i buy. Change colors of the stores i shop at and under also keep a list of stuff i need to pick up for my ibotta app. Game changer for shopping, adding items as i run out of them AND i also keep a note for every single item listed by shelf and in order on the shelf so i can send my kids after it and i can tell them exactly where the item is theyre looking for.
I miss Winco!! we moved from Western WA 2 months ago to TN and Winco is one of the things I miss most!
Just an FYI….Sarah from livingtraditionshomestead has a really easy and delicious homemade hamburger bun recipe! I’ve made it twice and both times was asked for the recipe😊
Her husband made English muffins too in one of their videos. Really yummy they turned out great when i made them!
@@bowler8 why are you so mean ?
@bowler8 Google recipe copyrights. There aren't any. It's not even feasible to reference where you saw it because I garauntee it didn't originate there and you'd be giving credit to a person who didn't create the recipe. Don't want your recipe copied? Don't give it out. It's that simple.
@@deborahstubbs240 She’s extremely negative and doesn’t like Becky’s success, but apparently likes her enough to watch the videos and pepper the comments with rudeness.
I made those hamburger buns during covid lockdown so glad i tried them they were soooo good!!
Fiddle leaf figs are one of the hardest plants to keep happy! Don’t give up on plants just because that one died. An easier one might be a snake plant or a ZZ plant! Those are both low water too!
Hey Becky, great timing, I was just telling the other person in my household about the Pantry Callenge and yes, we are going to take part of it. Since prices gone up so much in germany, 40 $ or 37 € is not going to be enough for fresh veg and milk.
But I am going to bake my own spelt bread and try to use as much as I can of my pantry store. Soo huray.. 🥳 the challenge is going overseas 🙂
I am sorry your dog is feeling purly and I hope he is doing ok again. Its horrable when pets are sick. I have 2 cats, Otis and Blacky. I feel with you.
So, I am checking my potatos tomorrow, its 10:30 pm here now, and do an inventory of my freezer. Looking forward to the next video.. bye for now from the Münsterland, germany❣
As many have mentioned here I leave my active dry yeast in the freezer. I have had it since 2020. It’s almost gone but I can attest that it’s still good! Made rolls for Christmas with it.
I also keep my active dry yeast in the freezer…I use it straight out of the freezer. Works perfect! I have family & friends that keep the yeast they commonly use in the fridge & their overstock in the freezer, but never in a cupboard. I’d think that would spoil quickly
Watching you while I put together baby shower invites. I think im gonna do a little pantry challenge myself. We have a beef order to use up, and my husband was able to score us a deer to stock our freezer. Our eggs are so expensive here in Montana. A 60pk is now $30! Which is a pantry challenge in itself and finding substitutes. Plus, I have gestational diabetes to work around. Good luck with this challenge. Hello to the rest of the acre family!
Congratulations on your coming baby!!! Do you know what it is yet? OMG $30 for eggs....that blows my mind lol.
@RedRoseSeptember22 yes we are having a baby boy.

That first outing without baby is so refreshing and much needed. As for the houseplants I'm with you honey. I can grow a garden, raise a child and chickens and run a business but I can't keep a houseplant alive to save my life 🤣🫣 Glad you're doing well.
Did you forget to look for frozen green beans in Winco? I was willing you to remember.
I kept yelling at the computer screen....GREEN BEANS...don't forget the green beans!!!! Love watching you shop. Your eyes tell the store when you find something you like or a good buy!!! Bring on the Pantry Challenge

And post it notes lol
I knew I wasn't the only one saying "don't forget the green beans!"
I kept yelling post it notes! 🤣
I haven't bought groceries since before Christmas and I'm doing a no spend January along with the three rivers challenge. I've even managed to make freeer meals for myself and my brother and sister-in-law who just had a new baby. I've told myself I can buy fresh produce and things like eggs if need be. I'm pretty sure we could get through January on frozen and canned produce, but I'm giving myself some grace there.
Great video Becky. Hope pup is ok and feeling better. ❄️🇨🇦❄️
Keep your yeast in the kitchen freezer. I keep my in a Mason jar and use it straight from the freezer. Always super bubbly.
As always I love your energy and your videos give me so much joy. As a dog person myself I am wondering why you left your dog unsupervised in the car for this long? I do not mean to be rude or anything like that it is just not something that I would ever do.
Was thinking the same thing about the sick dog and especially since it's been very cold there!!
Oh no! Was the dog in the crate in the car the whole time? I sure hope not.
@@msthisisdumb23yes it was☹️
Taking a picture of my grocery list before going to the store is one of the best thing I started to do as an adult 😂 Highly recommend, because I lose my list all the time too!!
To reduce food waste one of t'he best things you can do us pick the things that go out of date sonner. Because usually noone picks them and they end up in the garbage.
I know today that wasnt the case as you are preparing for the pantry challege but it's something we can think about
That's the trouble with Costco. Not all items are available at all Costcos and sometimes it's a one time only deal and when they're gone, they're gone!
Becky you have more energy than anyone I know. Love your channel! You look great after having a baby!
Seriously I have 12 year old baby and I’m like where is my energy and she is so energetic. Becky what you drink for energy?
Because of you I got into canning this year, so my husband gifted me the pressure canner you have! I never ate canned foods growing up because they grossed me out to be honest, but I’m really looking forward to canning my own vegetables, meats and stocks!!
I LOVE my home canned stocks! I grew up with mushy home canned fruit and never liked it but canning food yourself is a completely different ball game! 👍
I love pressure canning, however, the foods I thought I would LOVED canned... I do not. I tried canning store bought carrots and so glad I did....I do NOT like them canned. So I didn't want to waste good garden carrots on a preservation item I would not eat. Someone in my home detests celery....but will eat canned celery. It seems to be a trial and error on what we like.
I’m glad you were able to get out and time with yourself. We need that. It’s so funny, when you were making your list, I found myself telling you what you needed to put on it you were forgetting! You are just a joy to watch.
It’s not really time for yourself, when it is shopping for the family and taking responsibility. When men take time for themselves they relax and do things they enjoy (they don’t bring family responsibilities with them). For a woman, in society, the view is that she gets to relax and slow down by being on her own while taking responsibility for the family (like shopping or a small amount of time in the car, being alone while she is dropping off or picking up the children on some of their activities). Alone time for a woman is not doing house labor, it is to be off from that ”duty” and do things just for her whatever that may be. A break from responsibilities and something she enjoys and can re-charge her batteries.
I know you meant well with your comment, but it’s also important that we see things for what they are. What standards are set for women and how different they are from the standards set for men. I’ve never heard a mom beng called ”mom of the year” for going shopping and bringing her kids with her, but heard it countless times said to a man (even by other women).
Sorry if there are any spelling or grammar mistakes, but this is not my first language. /Scandinavian
Love watching your videos, they give me so much motivation and inspiration! FYI the Kirkland diapers were my absolute favorite diapers for my girls. It's my understanding that they are essentially Huggies diapers just under the Kirkland branding. Super sturdy and minimal blowouts!
I did not plan ahead for the pantry challenge but I'm doing it with my own twist for my family this year! I'm only spending half of my grocery budget and then saving that extra money for convenience dinners after having a baby if my husband wants to eat out rather than cook on those hectic days!
Aww congratulations momma!!! Do you know what you're having yet? ♥
I got an air fryer AND an Instant Pot for xmas! Really upping my kitchen game. I actually went out and bought a buffet so that I can have room to have them all out!
If you like corn, make corn on the cob in the air fryer!!! It was the best thing of last summer for me!
I forgot the minutes to put it, but there are many videos on RUclips!
@@monicas2461 yum! We do love corn, so I will have to give that a try. We are members of a local CSA and we always gets TONS of corn in the summer!
I like my Instant Pot even though I don't use it much. I was going to buy myself an air fryer for Christmas but decided not to. I only read 1 star ratings and there were pages of one star ratings after all of the different kinds of air fryers for sale on Amazon so I didn't buy any brand.
I got a letter in the mail--supposedly from Amazon, but I don't think it actually was--telling me that they'd give me a $20 gift certificate if I'd give the product I'd just bought for my son's gift a five star rating. I believe it was $25 if I included a photo or video. The five star ratings are very suspect because of this. You know the 1, 2, and 3 star ratings are real.
Absolutely use the notes app for your grocery list.
The cranberry’s are in season and now is definitely the time to buy. If possible always buy in season prices and availability are at peak during this time and as you know they freeze well. 💞
Why was your dog in the car? Just curious seems weird to me. I live in Florida so that’s a huge no no. I’m assuming your climate is not hot so maybe not a big deal. Oh just saw you say the vet😂, is that a normal thing though in your area still so curious. People throw hands around here over dogs in cars😂😂

Tuh-mall-lay..Tamale. On average half a bag of masa should be able to accept 10 cups of very warm broth aka "caldo" pronounced "call-tho" and about 1 1/2 cups fat (manteca para tamales) you can find this at your local Mexican market. Go to the meat counter and they should be able to help you locate it. And then add about 1 cup canola oil. Mix, let masa rest about 20 min and spread on your soaked hojas

So proud of you. Yes, “always look for the helpers”. You are still and always amazing.
I love seeing stores, items and pricing, from different areas. Our wholesale club (BJs) has raised 60 count egg prices from $7.99 last year to $13.99 this last summer, to $22.99 now. And limit is two. Crazy!!
In the winter, I use my grow trays and seed starting lamps to do baby lettuce - I buy mixes from Territorial Seeds, succession sow them every 10 days or so and keep at least 4 trays going throughout the winter. Since you have the sunroom/porch, you could probably do that now and supplement your greens for the pantry challenge.

I love this channel so much. It's so encouraging and inspiring. It's so great that you're feeling so well and out-and-about.
For Costco price tags, the asterisk in the top right hand corner means it won't be restocked, and if the price ends in a .97, that means that's the lowest the price will go. The puffy coats has the asterisk, so they won't be getting more in.
Also if the price ends in a .00 that means that's a special item just at your costco.
I got a waterbath/sreamer canner for Christmas. Been wanting for 2 years now. And I love it.
What a joy to share your time with you.
English muffins are so much fun to make, and they're easier than you'd think - sort of like bread pancakes. I know you'll do a great job with them! I can't do the pantry challenge - there are nine of us in this house (I live with my daughter and her family): four adults, three teens, a preteen and a 7-year old. All of the kids are active and are eating machines. I don't have enough storage space to keep much of a backlog of food, maybe a week extra, but not even that with meat and vegetables since we don't have much freezer space. To have something in the house last more than two weeks is rare. I do enjoy watching the various participants, though, and dream of someday having a pantry or a big freezer.
We have started our first channel, and you have inspired us to do our first challenge and take on the two month challenge. We are using up all our canned, freeze-dried, and dehydrated produce and meats. We plan to not go to the store for the whole two months. 😁😁🎉
Day five, and we had tacos with freeze-dried cooked ground meat and cowboy caviar. We also grow microgreens year round, so we had a beautiful salad too.
Becky, you look so good, refreshed, healthy and happy! Yes!
You need an aeroponic tower! You can have fresh cilantro year round growing in the basement. I will be able to harvest fresh produce daily with snow on the ground for this challenge this year. Super excited for the challenge this year!
Store the little container of yeast you use, in your fridge. It'll save it from going bad, and works right from the fridge.
I Always keep my yeast in the freezer and measure out what I need for my current recipe! Hope this helps!
I always put my grocery list in my phone under notes headed by store so I can never forget my list. I add to it as needed.
I have a friend that lives in Northern CA and we go up every year and we can pick up the walnuts left on the ground from harvest. I have 5 one pound bags shelled by me in my freezer that will last me all year, between chicken salad, baking, oatmeal. So thankful for them as they are so expensive right now. At my local dollar store $5.09 for one pound.
@@cynthiafisher9907 You should look for local growers in your area. They, in my opinion, are happy to let you pick up what is left over on the ground. I will never buy them again as I get so much every year this way. So worth the extra work to crack them myself.
@@cynthiafisher9907 Sorry you don't have any in your area. You can DM me your address and I would be happy to send some to you. Sharing is Caring.
I make my list on a whiteboard and then take a picture of it, It really helps me stay organized and I don't have to keep track of anything but my phone. Love your videos, Becky/!❤❤
This channel is a bright spot in the day, no matter the weather haha.
I'd love to start canning, but supplies for it are expensive in the UK and getting ever more expensive. Plus I have dyscalculia, and that makes even basic things more of an uphill struggle when numbers and time is involved. But! Im trying to learn. Hopefully one day I can follow some of your canning recipes Becky!
