    You can seal your paint with ceramic paint protection, apply every 2 months and your paint won't go anywhere. As for headlights you can buy a restoration kit. Don't pay others for something you can do yourself. Learn how to service your car and you save heaps.

  • @joshuawarren5205
    @joshuawarren5205 5 лет назад +32

    Actually, as for credit and building your credit, if you have a total of 30% credit card usage your score will be higher. When I turned 19 is when I got my first credit card (prepaid credit limit) of $300. I made sure I used 30% of that limit by the end of the month. Within a year I had an 800 credit score. I didn’t care if I needed to buy a pack of gum to get to that 30% usage. Or if I was over I made a payment before the end. Than after the month I paid it off.

    • @crishernandez6270
      @crishernandez6270 3 года назад

      @crishernandez6270 3 года назад

      @@joshuawarren5205 how would I be able to pay it back? Do I spend it then deposit money back in it?

    • @joshuawarren5205
      @joshuawarren5205 3 года назад +1

      @@crishernandez6270 well it doesn't really matter what you spend it on. Might as well get your minds worth. This is what I did. When I got it, I maxed it out. And let that reflect on my credit for the month. And after that I started with the pay $1 more a day early. This shows the credit is being used. It's actually important not to get to much credit because you still want the utilization. No matter what others tell you, utilization is more important than the credit amount. Companies want to see they make money off of you, if you have so much credit you don't use, they won't wanna work with you and they know they won't make money cuz you're not using the card.
      Anyway. Start off by maxing it out and pay it right away. OR you can do which may be better, is make a purchase which is 30% of your total credit. Tgats the desired range to stay AT. not in. But AT EXACTLY 30%. And in no time you'll have a great score.

By then I should have a total of $120,000 or more in the bank and use half of it to pay for college, unless the military will pay for it, then, I get to keep all of it. If you are currently in collections you want to be in good standing as it can limit job selection. It is ok to have debt but work with the creditor so it is technically not in collections any longer, usually three small payments will be enough. Keep in mind that a green card might also limit job selection due to security clearance requirements.

    great video the only thing I didn't like was you talking to people that are just starting to get their finances in line about penny stocks I think it's better to introduce people through ETFs etc. I think you are a smart guy but the video got a little shaky when you started talking about individual investing, the acorn talk was good though. Just my opinion I could be wrong. Also instead of saying you don't like to save, I think it would have been better to say I like to buy assets and then explain to people who don't know what assets are. I'm not sure if this made sense but it's just my opinion. As I'm writing this I see the video was posted 3 years ago, you probably know much more now.

    Pickup with camper live in unit parking lot because you werent stupid and got married and had kids.
    If all you did in 4 years was that and spent minimal you would get out with a place to live and some money in the bank.
    Im so damn old, i was in when Mira Mar was a Navy base and i was in an E2 squdron who had a chief who lived on a RV in the squadron parking lot. My point here is what im telling you is an honest way to live and plan for the future.
    Myself i did live in a camper on base in NOLA and i also lived in a VW bus in colorado one summer. So the sacrifice with a goal pays off. Dont drink the materialistic coolaide. Sacrifice when you can for a better future!

    Hey, Austen great video overall. Love that the car is paid for. So I use Robinhood and Ally Investment for my stock investment. I was wondering if you have thought about CD'S or Roth IRA'S they are lower interest rate is also another great way to saving for a extra nest egg or saving to buy something with saved up money. Thanks for the great content.

    • @AustenAlexander
      @AustenAlexander  5 лет назад +2

      Yes!! I have investments in ROTH Tsp. Lots of people don’t like TSP but I do use it to save towards retirement or just a nest egg. The Navy matches 5% of everything I put in there.
      I do lean more towards index funds though to get ahead a little within a couple of years or so. Then I want to move more over into Roth IRAs
