I have driven the t-cross on the 3 different occasions as loan cars while our cars were being serviced, on one of these occasions we had 4 adults on board with more room than my wife’s Polo (2013 77 tsi) we found it was better left in sport mode on the transmission around town while drive was fine one up, dropping the car back to Moss Vale from Colo Vale I used the M31 and the car was happy to climb hills at 110 kph in 7 th gear, a good car for the money.

Just purchased one of these - not delivered yet - the mrs currently drives a Suzuki Swift - now upgrading - she didnt want anything too much bigger but just more power so that she can overtake folks doing 80ks in 100 zone - we took this thing for a test drive and wow - it feels like it has double the power of the Swift and can go 80 to 120 in no time… be careful you don’t lose your license!! … its even Quieter and Smoother riding than the CX-3 -- which we were going to buy until we saw the Tcross and took it for a test drive… rippa car…. I luv it already… 😊… i just need a way to get the mrs to swap me for my car and I’ll drive the Tcross 😉

I have a 2020r T-CROSS with a 110 HP LED light, automatic air conditioning and various other extras. It's fun to drive, I'm happy with the purchase. I recommend the car, but it's best to pay extra and buy a higher version.

Very happy with my VW T - CROSS standard comfortline DSG Automatic gear box 2019 launch imported in South Africa in Australia it is the light one step up in SA is the Highline for me considering the size engine 1 litre 3 cylinder really performs well both in urban & long distance driving no problem when overtaking😊

I am driving a 2019 1.0l 85 kW 7 spd dsg. It was part of a launch offer by VW in South Africa. So far the best car I've ever driven. Not a single issue. As with all car brands fuel economy is not as frugal as the claimed figure however its much much better than even smaller cars that I've owned.

I have the style model and have never had my fuel consumption go that high. Maybe it differs with the model but I have driven in the city, up steep hills and long drives. 🤷‍♀️ Any way I'm happy with my energetic orange t-cross style and have no regrets.

@@bluuncover It's a great little engine, though I am yet to do a long road trip yet, I've done 1hr trips without a problem driving on the freeway is fun. Remember it is turbo... I keep mine in sport mode.
I love my T-Cross and it's been great on fuel.
I have no negatives to say abt it.

The whole car is LED now with all safety systems on it with a digital cockpit and a 9.2 inch multimedia system for a monthly price 491,- euro.

I'm biased but I've had a top model R Line for 7 months now. I achieve 6l/100km easily; certainly adapt to the car, I always turn off the stop start system. Effortless performance on highway commutes even with four up.

@@russellchristison8425 On the commute from Sunshine Coast to Brisbane and return, with a bit of running about suburban Brisbane, the car returned just over 5litres/100km. The highway leg was down to 4.6.

@@russellchristison8425 I had a lexus CT200h hybrid car, I could reach 4L if I went for a long drive on a highway. But in city, with all those stops and re-starts, it was about 6-7L. Anyway, the fuel consumption looks good for a "SUV". I am thinking of getting one.

Driving one as a rental while my 86 is at the smashies; Interior is very good quality for the price, ride is very smooth with little road noise, engine is powerful enough for all driving situations but the DCG in automatic mode is complete dogshit that reminds me of the old torque converter autos however put it in manual mode with the paddle shifters and its a very satisfactory experience. Remember its a volkswagen- designed to be tossed after the warranty expires because its going to fall apart soon after.

It should not have 7 gears and shift up within seconds like a larger Tiguan 2.0 litre. Starts shuttering when you to put your foot down. Needs to be driven in S mode for a more "normal" response.

Here in the UK...My wife just bought the 110hp SE with auto box never had an auto befoe it seemed OK but better in sport mode and occasionally it seemed to stay in a high gear for too long up hills so had to drop it down a gear manually. Also there seems to be a lot of travel on the exelerator pedal which seems strange. Other than those points it's a great solid built car and comfortable even on long journeys.

The CX-3 has a similar problem ... I have been caught too many times by it stopping at the lights and taking seconds to restart. I have to upgrade as it is a write off from a rear ender ... the T-Cross seems to be a similar size and high up on the choice list ... it was a bit concerning to hear that it also has this problem. Compounded by the DSG being a bit hesitant. Might just have to suck it and see.

I took a t cross r for a test drive yesterday. What I found annoying was the sharp braking. I really try to give my passengers a smooth ride. This I couldn’t achieve.
Anyone else notice that the brakes are sharp, and will that ease after a while?

    • @tonywalls6563

The only reason why the T - Cross has sharp breaks is the emergency breaking system safety driving 5 Star cap rating 🤫

Good day i purchased the VW T - Cross in South Africa same car comfortline DSG Gear box to me the stop start system didnt bother me when the engine re started fired from the stop street etc why would i pull off fast from a stop street the law states if the car is behind you the other driver needs to keep distance to avoid a possible bump in the rear so for me stop start is ideal in South Africa as the world knows we have load shedding cars are bumper to bumper when the robots are not working how can you even pull off at stand still the car critics must really re think in there reviews & do there homework WOULD COULD HAMPER POTENTIAL BUYERS!!!

European cars have always been poor to schit with their AC, because the Australian coditions are much harsher than Europe. 5.4 l/100km is for granny driving, it's total bs for normal driving.

    I would not buy one.
Driven it twice when it was offered as a loan car. Cheap interior and feel to it. Entertainment screen has two turning knobs making it look dated. Loud enough whining from transmission every so often. Annoying and wondering if there is a defect in the car. Lol
It lacks on tech stuff. In contrast to the Ford Puma that I previously owned and would say that the Ford Puma is a much better feel of interior, tech and ease of drive. All I can recommend from my experience, you be better off with the Ford Puma.
