Its one thing to be a caretaker as opposed to being taken advantage of. She needs to give him an exit strategy. College, vocational school or the military and once graduated...
@@clovis- I agree, it could be that too. If it is that tho, he’ll have to find ways of adjusting to accommodate it…like staying in the kitchen while he’s cooking. Husband and both kids have ADHD, so I get it :)
This is obviously quite an old recording, so comments are futile. What angers me is this. Phil is so arrogant that he is dismissive of the real issue for this young man. Not only he’s not processed nor accepted death of his mother, he presents with likelihood of ADHD.
@@melaniel.7946 I understand his sister, but Phil should have known better! That was not ‘tough love’. That was nasty attack of someone who is in so much pain and is still a child actually
I forget all the time, with my ADHD, my mind is so squirrelly. Walk into a room and forget what I went in for and what I just did, put the stove on and forget it was even turned on. My actions are not intended to be deliberate in any way shape or form
Such irresponsible advice. Meets these people to do a 1 hour show and tells them to sell their house and the sister to kick the brother out when he is clearly not capable and needs a medical diagnosis, lost both parents… why is it solely the sisters decision what to do with the parents house? She is too young to understand that there is more going on here than just a lazy sibling
You'll never quit raising him until you quit raising him.

No, he needs to make his own exit strategy. He’s 20, it’s his job
His sister beautiful
Weaponized incompetence
Or ADHD
@clovis- If you do nothing to change or cope, its just weaponized mental health

Sometimes getting your shhhh together is what they need! Little tough love never hurt anyone.

This kid has bigger things going on than just being lazy
Back when things were simple and nothing mattered..

She can sell the house OR get a roommate who doesn't expect a mommy. He'll always expect her to pick up after him as long as he lives with her.
Dr phil says she relys on him to help with the bills then immidiatly after says you need a deadline to kick him out 😂
she is enabling him, let him grown up.
I honestly believe this is caused by adhd
