How to Actually buy a Guitar in 5 steps: Step 1: Get money Step 2: Realise that you don’t have any money Step 3: Beg your parents for money Step 4: Realise that they also cant afford a fender Strat Step 5: Buy a bullet strat
They're not all that much. This dude is pricy idk what he's doing lol. You can find guitars for 70-150 at cheapest. Amplifiers aren't expensive if you go on Amazon and get the small ones
When I saw it on the SA website for $85, then went to the store and was told its $95, what's that? I expect the prices to be the same because the web site is just another store front.
They buy the products and mark it up, if you want to buy it directly from the website then just do that but you'll probably end up paying around $95 with shipping.
Advice given here is not helpful. A beginner (or a parent buying for one) will not be seriously considering an expensive Gibson or American Fender or a high-maintenance tube amp. They'll be looking at Epiphone Les Paul Specials, at Squier Affinity or Bullet models, at Staggs, at unbranded made-in-China guitars; at 15-watt bedroom amps; at starter packs. The absolute beginner still learning her cowboy chords does not need to be thinking about pedals yet. She could use practical advice on guitar care and supplies, on a gig bag to take the guitar to lessons. These things, not high-dollar gear, are what the presenter should be talking about.
Amir Khalid he showed Squires and Epiphones.... and even The $200 crap player packs. Also, something to HIGHLY consider is this is 34th Street in Manhattan. I’m from Manhattan. This is THE city of the riches. Parents here WILL and DO drop 1 grand on gear for their kids like it’s NOTHING (cuz it’s not). So yeah, he covered all bases in this video quite well.....
@@jessel1217 The video is aimed at more than just wealthy Manhattanites. I still reckon that cheap beginner gear is what kids and parents look at first, and that's what should have had pride of place in the video. The expensive stuff should have been an afterthought, at most.
Amir Khalid - Well yeah that’s what I’m saying lol. I’m from NYC, all these promotional videos will always show top tier gear because like I said, you’ve got the wealthiest of the wealthy here and they will spend grands on gear even if they’ve never played before. There’s a guy I know from the local coffee shop who bought his kid that new iPad Pro. TWICE. Because the kid broke it a few weeks after it was purchased. But yes, I do hope parents will start out with lower end gear to get their kids going and then maybe upgrade in the future but then again this is Manhattan.
Jesse L Mate, you don't seem to understand how the Internet works. Just because a video was made in one place, doesn't mean that only people in that place will watch it.
Is a tuner really part of the bare minimum? I've never played an electric guitar but i assume u can just tune by ear using a piano or yt video audio right?
when he said budget i expected 60$ when he said 600 dollars i actually lost my mind, how can anyone get into electric guitars if they are soo expensive..

Horrible info. If your guitar needs a full setup four times a year, the guitar is bad. Also expressed that cheaper guitars simply sound different. Wrong! Biggest difference is playability. Cheaper means less fret work, less consistency, cheaper tuners, bridges & electronics which means wont stay in tune as well, won't hold up to use, may not be able to lower action (string height) as much. Those are more important than sound especially if you are learning to play. And a beginner should never be sold a Fender Twin unless they are practicing inside a stadium 😵
Same here, I've been playing since I was 9 but didn't get serious about it and got lessons at 13. 45 minutes everyday for 3 years now, I love the acoustic and my parents say I should play an electric. So I said 'why the fuck not', so I'm going to pick out a guitar on my birthday. Knowing me I might buy my 5th acoustic instead though..
Leo Geissler you need an amp, first, to amplify the guitar’s signal, and then you can plug in the headphones into the amp. That’s the only way itll work.
Funny you mention the Epiphone uses less expensive materials. It's made in China so it's the labor where the money is really being saved. I would argue the woods are just as good.
The pick ups are made of cheap pot metal. So there's a big cost cutter right there. Not saying they can't sound good. But the American made ones tend to sound better.
