    I was very excited to see that you've uploaded a new video! I've been making hats lately and this hat is beautiful. I was happy to learn a new crochet stitch because I am actually a knitter, but I do both crochet and knit. I can't wait to make this hat!

    Thanks so much for this! It looked intimidating at first but once you explained it in an easy beginner friendly way, it doesn’t look too hard. I’m definitely trying this soon! Does a weight 4 yarn work too?

    I am making a hooded cowl. Couldn't find a pattern of my vision. Going to do this pattern for the top. The ribbing I did half double crochet slip stitch in back loop. I am doing this stitch for the rectangle then sew it together to make a hood and sew onto a cowl. This pattern probably would lay nicely for the cowl part also or will do a ribbed one with hdc sl st blo. Not sure yet. What do you think? I am also having trouble finding measurements for hoods. Might buy a sewing book on hoods to get the measurements...
    Oh yeah and I think I am going to line the hood with jersey knit fabric. I am being ambitious but I need it to be warm and it looks nice lined.
    I am obsessed with hoods since I realized they work so much better for me as I have bangs and my hair gets messed up with beanies. I think hoods are gonna be huge soon.
    If you are needing a new project, please consider a hood tutorials. I don't like the ones with long scarves attached. I actually prefer cowls as you don't ever have to fuss with them when they fall down.

    Love how this hat turned out! Do you have any tips for when I get to the linked stitches? I used a size H hook for the band, but when I got to the linked stitches a size H made teeny, tight stitches. I had to go up to a J hook to get “normal,” even sized stitches, but even then the row is 1/2 the height of my band and the stitches still seem so small compared to the band 🤔 I am relaxed on my tension. Can’t figure it out!

    How will the end product be affected if I use a 4 instead of 5 weight yarn? I love this pattern but I want to use some yarn I already have around the house!

      My friend used 4 ply and hers turned out great. I’m going to use 4 ply as well. I’d just use a smaller hook to make it tighter and make it the length you need to fit. I’m gonna give it a try. Good luck.

    Thank you for teaching a new and exciting technique. This is very creative. I’m wondering if, while doing the last row, it would be possible to decrease by pulling up a loop in the next two base chains and then pulling through three on the first pull through (pass) but then only through two on the next four? I’m wondering if this would make the top of the hat half as wide?

    • @DaisyFarmCrafts
      @DaisyFarmCrafts  3 года назад +4

      I think that would work! I’d maybe do it every other stitch or every third.

    This is like my 5th time doing this pattern, I love it, but MAN is my tension going crazy on that 5 loop stitch. Does anyone have any tips for not having their work curl up?

      Try a larger hook. Also maybe give velvet yarn a try it laid really flat for me

    Question.. my bring started “snaking” (becoming wavy)as I added the 2 SC a long the top. I noticed yours did not haha. Will this effect it horrible?
