Trying a mix of one of the most chill and aesthetic soundtracks of all time is pretty bold, especially considering they themselves have made numerous versions within the different game versions.
I dont *feel* minecraft when I listen to this. It feels like a song. It feels like its been given direction or a goal. Somehow more upright and composed..Perhaps even more blindly joyous? Hopeful? Fresh?
However at the same time, I feel this has taken away a certain something. I dont feel gripped. Perhaps its solely because I dont feel the decade+ of memories, pain and nostalgia or the sorrow and beauty of lost times washing over me here like I do when I hear MC music. Its like a fresh start at MC and my brain doesnt know how to take it I guess. Its undeniably not bad, dont get me wrong! Insert grain of salt here -X-
Had you just posted this as a mix, I honestly wouldnt have tabbed that it was a remix or re-produced track of any kind, would have just figured its some other soundtrack for some other voyage RPG survival mincraft/terraria type game. Title is carrying HUGE weight, perhaps even a little snark, and there are big shoes to fill here.
Be mindful tinkering with such globally emotional music. Arguably one of the most listened to things of the last 20 years, Id wager all I own on that statement. Try naming one other thing in the past 25 years that has impacted not only as many people as it has, which is billions, but has also transcended age groups AND imprinted upon almost every single one of those people a lasting and extremely memorable experience. Dont bother trying, it doesnt exist. Period. Im totally fine with minecraft music not being a genre and it just being minecraft....❤
There is nothing wrong with remixing any music.
