Chinese EV brand competition is crazy. So many brand and all really competitive. Byd Xiaomi Li auto Xpeng Aito Nio Geely Zeekr MG Aion Leapmotor Cherry Wuling Avatr Hongqi Deepal It is like u have unlimited choice haha.
not many are making a profit and wont be for a few years. Expect mergers and acquisitions but it is a crazy market for EVs. Profits will come from their export markets.
Xpeng in my opinion out of that list will be the one to watch and succeed more than the others.. the mona and p7 then the larger ones should cover most of the needs of motorists
They make nice cars but the prices are insane. Price without batteri are high but then you have to pay rent on the battery to be able to swap it. Here in Denmark they have closed shops, was not selling any cars.
I would like to see more Zeekr models come here and i wish Xpeng would add heads up displays on there models as it is much safer than looking down at a small instrument display.
Li Auto/Hima sells EREVs instead of PHEVs. The ICE isn't connected to the wheels, and instead is strapped to a generator that only produces electricity to charge the battery. Just a distinction I want to make.
In China, EREV is a sub-category of PHEV. It's called a series PHEV, unlike most European PHEVs, which are parallel PHEVs. "EREV" alone is rarely used in regulations; "PHEV (including EREV)" is used.
And BYD's PHEVs are series-parallel PHEVs, which have the best of both worlds at the cost of an additional clutch that costs less than 1000 RMB (according to BYD).
Even if there are automated taxis, people will still buy cars. Even if you have good public transportation like Japan and Switzerland, if you have the money, everyone will still buy a car that they only use for vacations twice a year.
Brands count is not an issue. It is the companies that own them. If you count Geely, Saic, Xiaomi, XPeng and BYD that say own few brands each it is ok to have 10 even 20 brands. In USA Ford, Chrysler and GM owned many brands each in the 90’s. The brand being merely a specific flavor of cars e.g. more sportier or more premium or more family. Even Japanese and Korean car manufacturers in USA made more than one brand that are not sold outside USA. They seem to be dying out in recent times but still there is Lexus and Acura and Genesis and Kia (the last two are Hyundai brands)
the U.S. consumer is screwed. Tariffs can have unintended side effects. They can make domestic industries less efficient and innovative by reducing competition. They can hurt domestic consumers since a lack of competition tends to push up prices. They can also generate tensions by favoring certain industries, or geographic regions, over others.
Hello Sam The manufacturers on the carnewschina list cannot make rapid non-Chinese investments like BYD. In a video you made after returning from a visit to Zeekr in China, you said ^^Geely (Zeekr) wants to establish factories in Brazil and Turkey. As far as I know, Zeekr bought Proton in Malaysia. There is a free trade agreement between Turkey and Malaysia. In other words, zero customs duty and CHINESE tax embargoes in Turkey (50% tax and 20% service establishment obligation) (The first customs duty increase applied against China was made by Turkey, followed by the USA and Europe.) A model with left-hand drive, CCS charging port, GOLD battery, kw high engine power, 160 kw may come. Also, BYD's last sale in Turkey was more than 9000 vehicles. The reason is that it started a factory over 100,000 in Manisa organized industry. Doğazlgaz is going through Türkiye because of the Ukraine war in Europe. Turkey produces many sub-industries such as Tesla, Berline and other German and Italian thanks to its talented workforce. Turkey has zero customs agreement with the European Union.
🖐Can you recommend me the fastest Chinese electric city car? You are doing a great job. It's a pleasure to watch you. Greetings from Serbia. You are exceptional 🫶
I think Zeekr 001 FR, Xiaomi SU7 Ultra, Yangwang U7 and BYD Han L dual-motor are not small enough to be city cars. My guess is MG 4 XPower. MG Cyberster AWD seems to be more powerful but it is 2-door convertible.
Nio increased at100% and Viking mentioned then moved on, silence on increase. No video on ET9. No video on Chery, Changan, JAC, Geely big dogs joining the SWAP network! No mention of CATL increasing investing in their own SWAP network!
@ciybersal3499 i think swap would be great.. in Australia we have that on gas bottles.. swap n go.. it's the brand.. they keep you going and keep things maintained and certified for use for years.. imagine a car that runs for more years than you typically think a car should go for.. like 20 or 30 years..
Of this group I prefere Avatr and Xiaomi exterior styling - still waiting for all company's to get rid of the stuck on tablet interior styling and go Yang Wang interior styling.... the tech and luxury is above expectations at this moment across the board ...... handling and performance A+
Zeekr and others, 10 vehicle companies in carnewschina like BYD should consider factory investments in countries with low customs agreements with labor and energy costs. Despite the extraordinary rip-off (expensive) that BYD sold with ALJ group distributor, they sold 9000 in a short time like 1 month. It is more expensive in Greece, which is in the EU. Factory investments are perceived as local in those countries. I recommend that you forward this issue to Geely (zeekr) authorities and other (xpeng etc.). Thank you.
Battery swopping is the future, Nio car sales isn’t the major focus, Nio is building out a infrastructure of fully autonomous capable cars future proofing there brands, There’s saying that goes like this, Build and they will come, more swopping partners will come… Do you think a robot taxi can plug itself in?
Does anyone other than the car manufacturers care about what's going on in Chinese domestic market? Despite the hype Chinese brands are yet to make a meaningful appearance where I am.

The global economy will face 50% loss in gross domestic product (GDP) between 2060 and 2080 from the catastrophic shocks of climate change unless immediate action by political leaders is taken to decarbonise and restore nature, according to a new report. The stark warning from risk management experts the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (IFoA) hugely increases the estimate of risk to global economic wellbeing from climate change impacts such as fires, flooding, droughts, temperature rises and nature breakdown. In a report with scientists at the University of Exeter, published on Thursday, the IFoA, which uses maths and statistics to analyse financial risk for businesses and governments, called for accelerated action by political leaders to tackle the climate crisis.

I think we get the message that China will dominate EV production in the coming years, and most of the existing car makers will go out of business, nothing really to be happy about though is it.
