Those tires look great on your bike and the review is spot on. Vee Tire E-Huntsman 20x4 are a great set of tires out there on the market right now and their specifically designed for ebikes.
I have the Engwe EP-2 Pro and have changed my Tyres to motorcycle Tyres and it handles so much better and even in the wet around corners feels so much better , also have not notest any driffrance in power or speed so yah great all round, cool video
Thanks for your videos! I just ordered these tires also from your recommend! Hope these give me less anxiety when riding after my first flat! Keep it up!
Soooo! I added them on but then made the realization, I have the stock motor and don’t plan to upgrade it, this ended up showing me that these on a stock motor will drain the battery significantly since they are heavier like you said… I think this makes sense if the motor can handle it, but I was also getting too much battery loss and the pedal assist was crying hard haha! Just wanted to post it here for everyone, but it makes sense if your motor is more powerful. I was sad to see the tires not work the way I wished, but maybe I’ll save them for a motor upgrade if I ever go that route. I did notice the off center bumps from your experience too, I ended up realizing to lay it on its side while inflating, but it still ended up getting wobbly 😭 Hope I can find a good puncture proof tire that fits a little better, but maybe less weight for the motor? Im going to double on tire liners now to test this theory… but dang! Thank you again for your videos! Im subscribed still! Haha 🖖🏼😆
I never thought I'd ever say this but I prefer the super 72 to your SurRon because it is quiet and it looks more Street legal! BRILLIANT VIDEO LET'S GOOOOO!
I agree I do love it for it being quite and it’s more so a ebike. Why I use the bike lane a lot with it because it doesn’t look outta place. The sur Ron does
i'm on dual sport 244s. Great for on and off road. I"m still over 50mph and they shred on dirt and loose gravel/ lose rocks etc... wild actually.. dangerous and fun. I'm popping wheelies at will but I don't do all that. I just enjoy the torque and massive uphill acceleration
1:35 you didn’t lose torque, you increased the inertial mass of the tire, which simply requires more torque(watts or horsepower to be specific) to bring up to speed, so your static torque is the same, but acceleration is slightly decreased because of the larger mass you need to get rotating, parasitic loss essentially. The weight of the tire would not affect overall top speed, as once the tire is spinning, it doesn’t take any more power to keep it spinning at any given speed if it weighs more. The only thing a heavier tire will affect is acceleration. I have a question for you, I’m taking delivery of my first e-bike today and I am wondering if there is someway I can figure out what specs I should look for when upgrading, motor, controller, battery etc.? there’s got to be some equation I can plug-in to figure out what I need for an upgraded motor, battery and so on. I’m getting a dual motor with 750w constant rating with a single 52v 25ah battery. My first thought was to get dual batteries and run them in series, doubling the voltage and giving me a higher top speed, which I would assume would require a higher watt controller, but would I blow the motors out? So far all I can find on forums are just people buying larger rated things than they had before and hoping they work. my initial hunch is the first modification I should buy is a larger controller that will handle the eventual motor and battery upgrades, my question is can I buy one too large? Like if the one on my bike is rated for 25 A, will installing a 100 amp unit not work if everything else is the same? I’m not thinking it will increase performance, rather it will support later performance upgrades… maybe you can just point me in the direction of a legitimate forum that has knowledgeable people having similar discussions? ϟkål my dude!
Great video. I weighed my Shinko 244's when I got them and my scales read really close to 5.8 pounds. Did you weigh these? I read somewhere that the SR567's weigh 11 pounds each? That can't be right can it? I believe the Huntsman's weigh 4.8 pounds which is still an improvement over the flimsy 2.5 pound original tires.
Great description of grooved pavement "like the bike was trying to find a path". That's exactly the feeling you get on motorcycles. Not sure why it is related to the tires
You know the answer from the thumnail to this important question, I think isn't consistent . Some people report gaining speed, but losing a little range, while others claim they gain both range and speed, I think there is a handful of variables that can vary from Ebike to Ebike design that explain why certain tire upgrades have different effects on some models and not others. What I would really like to know however from the community is this: Can you safely go from a 26X4 tire down to a 20X4 tire if the original stock tire on your Ebike was a 26X4?
🐍Hawaii ARIEL RIDER guys are switching to VeeTire E-Huntsman, taller tire gives us higher top speed & we have plenty torque to spare. You can try them on your shorty. 🖖🤙
I just aired it up lol. I never had a problem with the bead. I aired it up enough to still move the tire on the wheel. Made sure it was even all across then went to max psi
Did you ever get rid of the wobble in the front? If so, did you have to take it back off the bike or did you air it down and back up with it still on the bike? Just put shinko sr244's on my bike and I'm having the same issue with it not quite seating the bead properly!
@@MrCentralDriver yeah mine isn't terrible, but idk how to get it perfect! Lol. Are you worried about trying to get it perfect or is it fine? Idk if it's a safety issue or not!
Hey brother Great content. I subscribed. I live in Jersey and getting my bike fully upgraded and putting these tires on. At what temperature is it no longer safe to ride on these tires. Please let me know. Thank you.
I saw that too. I couldn't decide what tire looked the best, so I got both. Also, I ordered a 120/80 16 for the rear and 110/80 16 for the front. The rear tire is a bit flatter for more contact, and the 80 vs. 70 should be a bit more comfortable. I am going to install these on my Ariel Rider Grizzly. Can't wait.
Opps. The 120/80 16 is too wide for my Grizzly. If they would fit they would most likely rub on the shocks. So I had to order the 100/80 16 for the rear.
Great video! For someone who owns an RX without the 72V mod, would you say these tires are worth it or do you think the loss of torque/range is going to absolutely kill the joy of riding the bike?
I'm about to put these on a Big Sur sport. But I'm in a dilemma if maybe I should try them with TPUs to save a couple of pounds from the butyl. But I could use to lose 20 lb myself😂
i did a full video on it. 27miles and i was at 50% battery. so realistically 50miles is doable. watch the video to see how i got 27miles. the kit is $2500 comes with everything
just toss a 200mm/220mm rotor up front. I think magura has the huge ebike rotors. that will fix your slower braking. limit your bike to 15 mph and see how many miles your pack lasts haha
@@MrCentralDriver So only a 5% battery penalty? That's not a lot at all. Seems like the real penalty is in braking and acceleration. Top speed and Battery range seems only a tiny bit affected.

sweet. i never go offroad so street tires were my choose :) ive heard those tires work good
Im putting these same ones on the Spark bandit. They definitely look dope AF!
Yeah they look so badass
I agree. The tires totally change the look of the bike. Super73 should offer something similar themselves.
They had street tires but got rid of them or sold out. Haven’t seen them in months.
@@MrCentralDriver Ah. I didn't know that.
I'm joining the 20x4 72V 3000W club in just two excruciatingly long weeks. I already have my Shinkos ordered.

Has anyone considered reducing the width of the tire to compensate for the motorcycle tread increase?
With the weather bad there I'm taking the opportunity to catch up on older videos from before I found the channel.
Awesome man thanks
I got my 20x4.0 tires from Germany and they use them on vintage cars their super sticky but not much heavier than my stock tires 😊
From where did you bought then? A website?
I love the Super 72 thx Mr Cd.

you should show more of the tires mounted on your bike@@
I just ordered these how did they hold up for you after 2 years?
It will be fine for Bafang 1000w48v ? 🤔
your link to the tires is dead, please fix :0
Where did you got the 72volt battery?
motoelectricracing.com
it sounds like them tires Inspire confidence which is a good thing bro I love your super72 its the bomb 🚴♀️💯
They r a must. Now brakes

yep and no more flats

I got the vee speedster. I like them alot. Its kinda a street/gravel tire.
Thanks for the video! Did you use two front scooter tires in matching size or is the back tire a bit wider?
Two fronts. Same size
Where u get that bar end mirrors
Mictuning on Amazon. amzn.to/3vU6iWX

I put some shinkos on my stock Ariel rider x class 52v and I swear I lost some speed, it has a hard time with hills now
In terms of the screen you’ve added to the front; what is it and do you need to wire it to the bike?
s for my 72v system. it runs off the new controller and motor

These are made for scooters. They are rated for 90mph + so u can ride these is all conditions
the shop is called urban drivestye and the tires are called vee chicane and the are the same weight as my stock tires 1.4kg
Still bicycle tires tho right ?

Stock

For someone who owns an RX without the 72V mod, would you say these tires are worth it or do you think the loss of torque/range is going to absolutely kill the joy of riding the bike?
i wouldn't do it if think the super73 is slow and doesn't have great range stock. these are twice as heavy and will hurt acceleration

How you can lose so much torque with the same tire size ?
Did you get 2 front tires for your bike or a front and a rear ?
You must buy two front tires if you want these. They were made for mopeds and gas / electric scooters.
do you use your torque arms for this kit or no?
Just the plates.
What sort of range do you get with that brother? Was that kit expensive?
i did a full video on it. 27miles and i was at 50% battery. so realistically 50miles is doable. watch the video to see how i got 27miles. the kit is $2500 comes with everything
Holy moly how did u get ur bike get up to 50. My zugo rhino only goes up to 20 and it feels slow AF

Hey , i'm currently building a super73 as well. Where did you get the battery box ?
All over at motoelectricracing.com
@@MrCentralDriver God damn . $455USD for a central box ? I'm out lmao. Could get one welded for way less . But thanks.
are they puncture proof?
No just like a motorcycle tire can still get a flat but it’s gonna be rare
Do you use a GPS speedometer?
Yes
@@MrCentralDriver How accurate is it? Also is it a paid one or not because the one I use on my droid phone I feel like is waaay off.
Free with ads. Just called speedometer on iOS. Very accurate
Looks like an awesome ride, but 5000$ for the bike without the mods, ouch !
Used I got mine for 3k with 33miles but that was before the price jump. Not worth it now

Not really no.
How many miles to work and back
6 miles to work. 6 miles back. Total of 12 miles

just toss a 200mm/220mm rotor up front. I think magura has the huge ebike rotors. that will fix your slower braking. limit your bike to 15 mph and see how many miles your pack lasts haha

Do you know you're supposed to scrub in motorcycle tyres generally for around 100 miles they are very slippery until they're properly worn in 👍
No. I assume for scooter tires as well which these are ?
@@MrCentralDriver yes same deal 👍
What % range penalty?
Maybe 1 mile less every 18-20miles
@@MrCentralDriver So only a 5% battery penalty? That's not a lot at all. Seems like the real penalty is in braking and acceleration. Top speed and Battery range seems only a tiny bit affected.
Heavy tires don't mean that it will slow down your speed. But it will work your motor harder. Becarful don't work it too much. I might burn out.
For the back tire would you go bigger like a 120/80/16 since it was so hard to put on?
It might be too loose. You can try.
I still think yours tires have better puncher protection and that's why they weigh a lot more
100%
your front tire should be going in the other direction
I have a 2021 rx and I’d really love it to go faster can you please teach me where to go and what I need to do to make it faster
